"How's Pisa?" I asked, I was still concerned about her.
"She's usually fine when she's working on something. Studies show that she just hates being alone, it gives her time to think." Darion replied.
"So basically we just need to keep her occupied."
"That's exactly what we need to do."
I shook my head. "I love her, I dint want anything bad happening to her.
She arrived here Monday with the others. They've all been put through the training together, so Darion could tell who the most important soldiers are. They've been training since Tuesday, which makes today the fifth day of training.
Jamila didn't go out clubbing like she always did on Friday nights last night, instead she was stuck in training. Everybody has been working their asses off. Except me, I don't have to work for my spot. I don't have to prove anything, because Darion already is aware of my importance.
He needed everyone else to do the training though, for an entire week. Which meant the upcoming Tuesday would be the final day of training. Then on Wednesday Darion will have his ranking for everyone known. After that, the meeting with the President on Friday.
Two others are coming with Darion and I to that meeting with the President. There's so many people, so much competition. It's hard to tell who he's going to pick. Right now, I can't even make a guess.
That was why Darion tried adjusting the training sessions. Before, everyone just showed off their best skills. Some people just showed off how smart they are, meaning they can outplay other captains. Some showed that they can simply blow off your head with their shooting skills. Then there was people who could do both, Darion loved them most.
This weekend Darion setup everything differently. He chose twelve people he thought would make brilliant captains and made twelve different groups. Now, they were basically going to war against each other in training. They had paintball guns and faced each other in a game of search and secure. The game was fairly simple, there was two ways to win. Either you shoot down your opponents entire team, or you capture your enemies leader.
Jordan, Pisa, Jaylie, Jamila, Kristian, all of my friends were among those twelve people that Darion chose as the leaders of the groups. The others in their group were just mercenaries assisting the leader. This was basically the second round to see who Darion would choose as captains for NTAU.
"Do you even have an idea of who your bringing to the meeting yet?" I asked.
"Somewhat, but it's too soon. I'll finalize everything Wednesday." He replied.
"Do you at least know how many captains your choosing?"
"Eight."
"I could help you choose them."
He's stubborn, he thinks he's perfect. That'll comeback to bite him in the ass one day, watch it. I rolled my eyes and grabbed my ID. I attached it to my chest as I walked to the door. At least he knew that he was choosing eight of the twelve leaders to become captains of NTAU. I could go tell my friends that to give them confidence.
"I'm going down to the training room." I said before walking out.
"For what?" He asked.
"To see my friends in their training, is there a problem with that?"
He smiled. "No problem babe."
"Good, love you." I blew him a kiss. "Goodbye."
Darion had cameras all over the training center. That way, he could watch the training session from his bedroom. He always took notes as well, he wrote down every weakness and strength of the important people. I took a few peeks at his notes, because he only took notes of the important people. So I already knew who he had in mind for captain before he made the twelve separate groups. He was just in this mix with those twelve.
The training center was held inside a dome nearby. The dome was pretty big, you could tell a billionaire designed it. Inside, there were many floors. About ten different training rooms were inside. All the training rooms were different, I remember seeing one that looked like fucking Africa. There were even monkeys in the trees.
Darion didn't censor anything. He made each room special. One had a small pond, ducks in it and all. The one on the bottom floor had small homes inside, they were badly damaged. The homes looked as if they were broke inside by a robber or some shit and outside the homes, was all sand. It was like walking around in a desert.
The main training room they were using was in the basement. The basements training room was the only one that wasn't specially made. It was just another regular room, except with shooting ranges. It was more like a lobby room to me, there was a large screen in the room and bleachers against the wall to sit in as well. I guess the entire dome just showed how creative Darion is.
When I arrived, I went down to the basement floor where everyone were meeting up at. Everyone was seating on the bleachers, but the twelve leaders Darion chose.
They were standing in the middle of the room. There was a table with a box on it. I saw Jamila write on a piece of paper then put it into the box. They were entering their names into the box.
"What are you entering you name into the box for?" I asked as I walked to them.
Jordan was the first to turn around after hearing my voice. He smiled and hugged me, the usual. Kristian followed with a hug as well, I was always welcomed so nicely.
"Everyone isn't entering their name." Jordan replied. "Darion sent a message saying we're having this shit setup like a tournament for the weekend."
"What?" I asked.
"Four people didn't enter their name, the four people Darion figured are the best among the twelve."
"I'm so confused."
"The eight who did enter their name will go against each other in search and secure. Then the four winners of those will go against the four who didn't enter their name."
"So who did he choose to not enter their name?"
"Tampa, Ethan, Felix, and myself."
"Ugh, fuck."
That meant that the rest of my friends could face up against each other. Hopefully Jaylie, Jamila, and Kristian don't end up facing each other. I don't really care so much for Jamile, he's not necessarily a friend. He's a great person to be around though, I love his personality.
"I hate this shit." Jamila said. She looked exhausted, they all looked tired. "I'm not sure how much longer I can keep this shit up."
"It's okay, stay strong. Your definitely good enough Jamila. You've made it this far." I tried to calm her nerves.
"Fuck that shit-"
"Look around this damn room. All those people in the bleachers, they sitting down. Your right here standing because you've been chosen as the best twelve."
She somewhat smiled. "I'll be better if you kissed me."
I kissed her. I didn't see why not. She's sexy as hell. Plus she needed the confident boost, this would definitely do it. She kissed me back, in fact she bit my lip. Maybe she was going too far with that. I released the kiss, she bit her lip.
"Thanks boo." Jamila said softly.
"No problem, have confidence in yourself." I replied.
"Okay, how that bitch get a kiss? I want a fucking kiss!" Jaylie said.
"I'm the shit that's how!" Jamila stuck her tongue her out at Jaylie.
"Fuck you, you ain't shit! That's why if we face each other I'm fuckin you up!"
Jaylie supplied her own confidence, her attitude was far too bold and prideful to lose confidence in herself.
Ethan sealed the box closed and shook it. After a moment of shaking the box, he sat it back down on the table. He grabbed a mic and spoke.
"These are the rules," Ethan began. "When I pick the name from the bucket, it'll go up above on the board. The very next person I pick after the first name is their opponent."
"This shit is so dumb." Jamile said under his breathe. "Darion really couldn't use us as the captains?"
"He's only picking eight captains." I told them. "He's stuck between you twelve."
Ethan reached his hand into the bucket. He mixed up the names inside the box some more, then took one of the pieces of paper out. He unfolded the paper, so he could read it.
"Alandis." Ethan read her name, then shortly pulled the next piece paper to announce her opponent,
Alandis picture went up on the big screen above us. She was standing next to another female and another guy. They must be friends, because they were with each other. My group of friends stood with each other. Ethan, Tampa, and Felix stood with each other as their clique. That meant Alandis and the two standing with her were a clique as well. Three different groups of friends, some may have to go against each other. I actually found this very entertaining.
"Draper." Ethan finally read the name.
Draper, apparently was the man next to her. Alandis cursed, she didn't want to face him. He simply shrugged and told Alandis good luck. His picture went up the on board beside Alandis. He was ugly, that's all I could say about him. But he looked scary as hell, probably why I rarely noticed him until now. My natural instincts were to avoid his ass.
"Jamila." Ethan read the next name pulled. Her picture went up on the board under Alandis and Draper.
Jamila crossed her fingers as Ethan read the next piece of paper. "Pisa."
Jamila uncrossed her fingers and spoke in frustration. "What the fucking fuck? This bitch Pisa is going to fuck me up, she has no emotions!"
I didn't know what to say, so I decided to say nothing this time. Pisa has been a close friend since I was seven years old. I loved Jamila's personality, but I was just far too close with Pisa to cheer for her. I didn't want to cheer for anyone, but Pisa wouldn't show any gratitude if I cheered for her anyway.
"Remember your going to have a team." I said to Jamila. "It's a group effort, your just the leader. Use the people among you wisely. Do your very best, don't give up until you win."
"There's no way in hell I can capture Pisa." Jamila said shaking her head.
"You may be able to surround her, or take out the other members of her group." Her brother Jamile tried to help. "Remember we're only using groups of ten, we only got nine other people with us."
"That's a lot." Jamila replied.
"Jamile." Ethan read the next name.
"Stay confident in your ability to do whatever you want. Nobody can stop you but God himself." Jamile said to his sister.
"Kristian." Ethan said.
Kristian and Jamile too. I don't know which is better, Kristian and Jamile or Pisa and Jamila. That only left two people.
"So that leaves Mayreen." Ethan said, naming the other girl of Alandis clique. "And Jaylie."
"Can I just call you May for short? Because your names about ugly as a bitch." Jaylie asked.
"Yes, can I call you bitch? Because your names irrelevant to me anyway." May replied.
"Damn she just threw all kinds of shade at you." Jamila joked.
"Ugh shut up, I know I'm going to beat her. You get ready to lose against Pisa." Jaylie replied.
"Your allowed to pick the other nine people of your group yourself, if not they'll simply be chosen for you." Tampa explained.
Jordan continued. "The first names drawn matchup will be held in Training Room 2. The second names Training Room 5. The third names Training room 7. The last names are in training room 8."
The four people that didn't put their name in the box knew the rules. Darion must had told them exactly what was going to happen. He did figure they were the four best after all.
"The time now is 10am, your matches will start at noon. If your not in the training room you were reported to by noon, you'll lose by forfeit." Felix said. "So the rules understood?"
Everyone responded with a nod or something signaling that they understand. Now, the leaders just had to pick members to join their group.
"Where's your girlfriend Morgan?" I asked.
"She's my twin from a different set of parents born on two totally separate days, not my girlfriend. But she's Secretary of NTAU." Jordan replied.
"Okay and I'm going to pretend like that made the most sense in the world, but did you say she's the secretary?"
"Yeah, I few days ago Darion decided to promote her into the position. She's definitely smart enough."
"So she'll be with Darion a lot?"
"Probably so."
"I won't have to worry about her doing anything will I?"
"I doubt it, but the dude is attractive. No homo."
"Your so gay."
He laughed. "I said no homo."
