Chapter 23 - 23

Harvey followed Tony into Tony's Underground Research Lab.

It was incredibly advanced; things that would normally only appear on screens were presented here as holographic projections.

In his previous life, Harvey had seen this in movies, but now that he was truly here, he looked around with great interest.

"Harvey Anberaka, you give me the impression that you know a lot of things."

"So, have you ever heard of aliens?"

Tony noticed that Harvey Anberaka didn't show any surprise, only interest, so he walked towards a counter and asked.

"I know what I need to know. Just tell me directly what you want to talk about."

Harvey's eyes flashed when he heard this, and he spoke.

"How much do you know about aliens?"

Tony Stark asked directly after hearing Harvey Anberaka's words.

"I know a bit too much."

"For the sake of the grand meal, I can answer three of your questions."

"So it depends on what you want to learn from me."

Harvey casually found a comfortable chair and sat down, smiling as he spoke.

Tony Stark looked at Harvey Anberaka, who was smiling as if he understood everything, confirming that Harvey Anberaka was indeed very mysterious.

"Is Blue Star really in a very dangerous situation, as Coulson said?"

So, Tony Stark thought for a moment and tentatively asked the question he most wanted to know at that moment.

"Blue Star is not dangerous at all right now, but it will become dangerous in a few years."

Harvey replied.

"A few years? When exactly is that?"

Tony Stark's eyes narrowed when he heard these words.

"Knowing that it will become dangerous in a few years, does the exact timing really matter?"

Harvey asked back with a smile.

"Let me think..."

Tony Stark heard these words, and the urgency in his heart instantly cleared.

Tony Stark's brain began to think frantically.

He wasn't sure of Harvey Anberaka's origins, but he inexplicably felt that everything Harvey Anberaka said was true.

This was a rare opportunity for three questions, and one had already been used, letting him know that a great danger would descend in the coming years.

"Then, for the second question, are there any aliens who can become allies to us humans?"

"If so, how can I contact them?"

Tony Stark considered for a moment and asked another question.

"There's an old saying in China: 'Those not of our kind are sure to be of a different mind.'"

"Even among humans, wars due to different races have been common throughout history."

"But when do you think humans mostly unite and become allies?"

Harvey didn't answer directly but asked back.

"When they all have a common enemy?"

Tony Stark pondered for a moment upon hearing this and understood.

"So, before such a powerful enemy appears, the effect of alliance or non-alliance is not significant."

"You'd understand this question yourself if you thought about it, so it doesn't count as answering your second question."

"Therefore, I can tell you roughly when the danger that will affect the Universe will appear."

"If nothing unexpected happens, that time will be in nine years, and you will unite then."

Harvey said.

"9 years later?"

"2017?"

"Harvey Anberaka, who exactly are you? How do you know about the future?"

"If there really is such a powerful enemy, why aren't you afraid or worried at all?"

Tony Stark heard Harvey Anberaka mention an exact time and also state that a powerful enemy threatening the entire Universe would appear then.

"Regarding who I am, that's not within the scope of the answers."

"As for why you ask me why I'm not afraid."

"Because fear solves nothing; what's meant to come will always come."

Harvey spread his hands and said with a smile.

If you asked him if he was afraid of Thanos, at present, Harvey certainly was.

But that was only for now; as long as he continued to Evolve, he had nothing to fear.

If Thanos's appearance drew near and he still wasn't confident in winning, he could simply go to other Universes.

As long as he gained more hero templates, if he couldn't win, couldn't he at least run?

Of course, Harvey could also understand Tony Stark's current feelings; he must have felt that everything was shrouded in mystery, but this was exactly what Harvey wanted.

"I've already answered two of your questions. You have one last chance."

"You have one last chance to ask a question. After that, whether I answer or not will depend on my mood."

Harvey gave a kind reminder.

He was not communicating with Tony Stark as the God of Death now, but as Harvey, to make Tony Stark even more curious about him.

So Harvey wouldn't mind giving Tony Stark more information.

Tony Stark was a person cursed by knowledge; the more he knew, the more he would begin to act.

"Coulson, believing you're a super-powered individual, sought you out."

"He hoped you'd join the Avengers."

"Why didn't you join?"

Tony Stark considered for a moment and asked his final question.

"Are you sure your last question is about this?"

Harvey asked back, somewhat surprised.

"Just answer this question for me."

Tony Stark knew he had already learned enough information.

As for whether what Harvey Anberaka said was true or false, it only needed to be verified in the near future.

"Because Nick Fury's original intention for forming the Avengers might be good, but things often deviate from the original intention."

"Ultimately, it will inevitably become a tool of politicians, requiring them to act according to the politicians' whims."

"And I don't want to be commanded by anyone to do anything."

"I want to do whatever I want, by my own will, which is why I didn't choose to join."

Harvey thought for a moment and answered.

"The commands of politicians can be dealt with through negotiation."

Tony Stark said.

"Tony Stark, you don't need to think about trying to recruit me to join."

"The reason you and I can sit here and have a friendly conversation is because there's no animosity between us, nor any other complicated relationship."

"So don't try to accomplish something you can't, or you'll only invite consequences you can't bear."

Harvey looked deeply at Tony Stark and said calmly.

Tony Stark was one of those cursed by knowledge, difficult for others to understand.

Therefore, Tony Stark's heart might not be as grand as solely protecting Blue Star, but he definitely had the idea of protecting those around him.

Because of this idea, Tony Stark would constantly think and find ways to implement various preventive measures.

Even as Tony Stark's teammate, as long as one was powerful enough, they would be considered an object of precaution, for unforeseen needs.

Even now, Tony Stark hadn't officially joined the Avengers.

However, Tony Stark now knew some things about the future, even if not 100% certain.

Tony Stark had already begun to think about uniting with others to face the future, which was why he was trying to persuade him to join now.

Perhaps Tony Stark wanted to find a friend to act with, so he wouldn't have to keep secrets hidden in his heart forever.

Or perhaps Tony Stark felt that if he could join with him, he would become the best helper.

But no matter the reason, Harvey could not possibly join the Avengers.

Tony Stark watched as Harvey Anberaka's eyes, which had initially held a smile, gradually returned to calm, making him feel a bone-chilling coldness.

"I won't persuade you anymore. I was wrong. Don't look at me like that."

So Tony Stark immediately gave up the idea of recruiting him and apologized proactively.

After his conversation with Harvey Anberaka just now, he realized that Harvey Anberaka's mystery might be far greater than that.

So he wanted to recruit the other party to his side, but now, thinking about it, his idea was a bit presumptuous.

"Regarding our conversation, whether it's about aliens or the future, you can tell anyone you want."

"But don't expose me. I don't want my peaceful life disturbed right now."

Harvey saw Tony Stark back down and didn't press further, instead giving a reminder.

"Even if you didn't remind me, I wouldn't casually tell people about these things."

"After all, even I find it a bit hard to accept right now, that in just nine years, we might face an unimaginably powerful enemy."

"Now I'm increasingly feeling that knowing more isn't necessarily a good thing."

Tony Stark sighed, slumped into a chair, and spoke.

He had created the Iron Man Suit and, by chance, came into contact with an unknown being he couldn't comprehend, the God of Death.

After understanding, he directly opened the door to a new World; the World he was now exposed to and the things he knew were unknown to countless others.

"Crises won't disappear because you worry, so you don't need to dwell on it too much."

"Besides, there are still nine years. With your mind, nine years should be enough to create many miracles, shouldn't it?"

Harvey saw Tony Stark looking like a listless salted fish and spoke.

"Nine years, I wish I lived that long."

It was better when Harvey didn't say anything, but mentioning nine years made Tony Stark even more dejected.

"Are you talking about your light bulb, and how it's burdening your body?"

Harvey's eyes flashed when he heard this, and he looked at Tony Stark, speaking.

"Light bulb?"

"You call the Ark Reactor a light bulb?"

"Do you even understand what the crystallization of technology and wisdom is?"

Tony Stark was originally a bit dejected, but the phrase "light bulb" made him instantly stand up, wanting to argue logically.
