Chapter 134 - Level 3 Mutant

"X, are the analysis results ready?" Charles asked with a pained expression.

"The results have been generated. Based on the two of your previous battles, the system's data matches the input data. This mutant's abilities are preliminarily assessed as telepathy and telekinesis. The mutant gene has reached Level 3," the X System reported.

Charles and Erik both felt a sinking weight in their hearts. A Level 2 mutant was already formidable among today's mutants. Han Yu had previously explained that mutants were classified into five levels—Level 1 being the lowest, Level 5 the highest.

The difference between Level 1 and Level 2 lay in control over their powers. Most mutants were Level 1, unable to control their abilities. Level 2 mutants could at least understand and apply their powers to some extent.

Level 3 and above meant enhanced abilities. The more a mutant developed and honed their power, the more they could accomplish and the more skilled they became, which would raise their mutant level.

According to Han Yu's previous analysis, most of the mutants on Earth that could be found would be Level 2 or Level 3.

Above Level 3 were the ones who could threaten a city—or even multiple cities. When facing such mutants, if persuasion failed to bring them to the Mutant Academy, Charles and his team would need to use special methods to subdue them before they caused large-scale chaos.

"This is truly difficult to deal with. Both of us have been training hard recently. According to the X System's assessment, we barely reached Level 3. That girl, though—she used Level 3 mutant abilities right from the start. Her potential is immeasurable. We must bring her to the Academy before she causes a bigger problem."

Erik frowned, his body wrapped in bandages, clearly a bit injured.

His telepathy was already strong enough to easily invade others' minds, creating a version of himself visible only to his opponent. In battle, he could use this to damage an enemy's brain directly.

Charles, after taking up the position of vice-principal at the Academy, had also honed his ability, though he disliked fighting. He had trained to control fine iron filings with precision.

Previously, Han Yu had said, "If you agree to establish the Mutant Academy, your abilities must start at Level 4. You will encounter even stronger mutants, and not everyone can be persuaded by words. There will be danger. Without self-protection, you will eventually die trying to recruit other mutants."

Now they realized Han Yu was right. If their mutant powers had not reached Level 3, the injuries they suffered in the confrontation with that girl would have been far worse.

"Let's call Han Yu. We really can't handle this on our own," Charles said.

Hearing this, Erik took out his phone and dialed Han Yu's number. "No answer."

"No answer? He said if the phone doesn't pick up, he might be out of service range. Try calling the shop. Maybe one of his friends there can help," Charles suggested.

Erik nodded and dialed the second number. The call connected quickly.

"Who is this?"

"Hello, this is Erik, a friend of Han Yu. Is he home?" Erik asked.

On the other end, it was Ultron speaking. "Not home. He went out on some business. What's going on?"

"And you are?"

"Ultron."

"Oh, Mr. Ultron, here's the situation…"

Erik explained the events he had encountered. Han Yu had told them that anyone in the grocery store could be trusted. If he wasn't around, they could rely on his friends for help.

After hearing the details, Ultron nodded slowly. Using his thoughts, he connected to the X System through his brain, which could interface with computer databases, and accessed information about the powerful mutant Erik and Charles had encountered.

"Qin Gelei. Preliminary analysis: possesses telepathy and telekinesis. Mutant level is Level 3. Hmm… definitely a difficult opponent," Ultron said.

Mimicking Han Yu, Ultron stroked his chin, thinking for a moment. Then he said to the phone, "Let's meet. I'll come find you."

Such matters couldn't be explained clearly over the phone. Han Yu had mentioned that their grocery store shouldn't directly intervene with mutants, since their level of power surpassed ordinary humans.

Of course, now that Han Yu and his group could present themselves as near-godlike, it wasn't odd at all. As long as the situation on Earth didn't affect Han Yu, Ultron wasn't inclined to interfere.

Helping the righteous was another matter—he just wouldn't assist evil.

In the future, mutant affairs would mostly be handled by Charles and Erik. Unless it was an absurdly powerful mutant, the grocery store would not intervene. At present, the store had a taste of being an arbitration center.

After obtaining the exact address, Ultron closed his computer and prepared to leave.

"Hey, where are you going? We just got the team together," Quicksilver said, quickly removing his headphones.

"Charles and the others are in trouble. The boss said before, if there's an opponent even they can't handle, it must be tough. The boss isn't in this world now, so we need to handle it," Ultron explained.

"Charles? You mean the professor at the Mutant Academy your boss founded? I want to go too! I've already said I want to help—how can you leave me behind?" Quicksilver said.

"All right."

Ultron didn't refuse. The two immediately began preparing to head to Berlin to meet Charles.

After arranging for a private plane, Ultron and Quicksilver rushed to the airport. By now, they were respected figures in public eyes—no need to use "green-light rings" for transport.

With enough money, buying a few planes for commuting was no problem—it was about showing status.

That evening, Ultron and Quicksilver met with Charles and Erik.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Charles, and this is Erik," Charles introduced himself.

"I'm Ultron, and this is Pietro. We're from Han Yu's store," Ultron said, smiling, shaking Charles's hand.

Without much small talk, they got straight to the point.

"Regarding that mutant you encountered earlier, I have a plan," Ultron said, taking out his laptop. He opened it and explained, "Considering her mind-influencing telepathy and ability to control objects, I plan to make a suppressor device. First, we'll inhibit her powers, calm her down, and then explain the situation. Otherwise, if a fight breaks out immediately, it will only cause trouble."

"How do you plan to do that?" Charles asked.

"To build this device, I'll need both of your help."

Ultron looked at Charles and Erik and smiled.
