Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : Life is Crazy

Water.

That's what he saw for miles , crystal clear turquoise water up to his waist for miles.

 - You know, I wasn't expecting to get crushed by a replica of the Half-Life Jalopy that my neighbor was building. -

* Flashback *

" Man I'm glad I got a week off of work; I knew planting those rats in the building would work out in my favor. "

 - I can finally go home and play some Space Engineers-

"HEY, MOVE OUT OF THE WAY!!!" That was the last thing he heard before he saw the speeding jalopy coming right at him; before he could even get his body to respond, that damned car hit him. Luckily he didn't feel any pain when it did hit him. The last thing he felt was the urge to kill his neighbor and frame it as an accident.

* Return to Present *

??? : "I mean, damn, how long is it going to take for me to meet a god and get the cliché reincarnation bullshit out of the way? "

He wasn't sure how long it had been since he had been on this sandbar. So He decided to get off the sandbar and start wading, or rather walking, since even though He was in waist-high water, it felt like there wasn't anything there to begin with.

The sun was high in the sky, beating its rays down on him. It was then that he noticed what appeared to be a group of islands out in the distance. So he set out in that direction and began walking.

After what seemed like hours, he was still no closer to the islands, and the sun hadn't even moved an inch, but he noted that the sea appeared to be more active than when he first began walking. There were a variety of colorful corals, fish, starfish, sharks, crabs, lobsters, and even some sea turtles.

They didn't seem to mind his presence. So he tried to reach out to touch a nurse shark that was passing by, and it didn't swim away from him when he touched it. In fact, almost every single thing he touched didn't seem to shy away; they just continued on like he wasn't there. He thought that was pretty cool and carried on walking.

No matter how far he seemed to walk, the water never lowered past his waist. As he continued walking, he thought it was a trick of the mind and that he was going crazy, but it looked like the islands were getting closer. So he started sprinting as fast as he could till his feet finally touched the sandy beach. It felt wonderful to finally be on dry land.

As he was going further up the beach, a wooden table suddenly showed up in front of him with an old Macintosh on it. As he was staring at the computer, words started appearing on the screen, so he got a closer look to read.

[ Greetings, mortal soul. Due to the number of gods out for vacation, we could not assign you a god to help you with the reincarnation process, so to make up for that, we have decided to give you a system similar to the ones you see in fanfictions and web novels without the annoying talking back or penalties for not completing things. We have also given you two wheels and four wishes to help with the process. The first wheel is to decide what genre of world you are going to; the second wheel gives you a chance to roll for a new race. After you type down all your wishes and have spun both wheels, please enter your name on the keyboard to agree to the reincarnation.]

"THANK GOD. DAMN, THIS TOOK FOREVER!!!!" He couldn't believe that it took this long. He didn't even want to think about it, so he just clicked to spin the first wheel to see what he would get.

[ Rolling . . . . . . . ]

[ You have rolled High Fantasy ! ]

High Fantasy Huh, he can work with that; maybe build himself a nice castle or travel the world as some sort of wandering trader like the Khajiit in Skyrim. He hurried and spun the second wheel to see what else he got.

[ Rolling . . . . . . . ]

[ You have rolled Human ! ]

You know he was expecting something different, but he can take human. At least it will be something familiar, but it would have been cool to be a different race, like a beastman or a winged creature.

Now that he have rolled the wheels, he started thinking about those wishes he could make. he had a pretty decent concept of some really good wishes in his opinion.

[ - Agelessness ]

[ - The ability to use the internet from Earth for entertainment , information and purchasing , as well as items such as electronics and other technology no longer requiring electricity or fuel to work ]

[ - The ability to speak, read, and write in any and all languages , including Fictional languages and animal languages.]

[-World Hopping]

He thought these were some pretty good wishes. If he does say so himself. You know that he thinks about it. He hasn't even taken a look at the system. How does he bring it up? Does he have to say a word, or does he have to think about it?

First he tried saying "system" out loud, and nothing happened. Then next he tried thinking -Panel- in his head, and then it finally appeared.

「 Name : ??? | Level : 1 | Class : N/A | Age : 25 」

「 Inventory | Skills | Bank | Internet 」

「 Stats | Titles | Achievements | Quests 」

- So that works-

Well, the first thing he decided to do was take a look at the different sections first. Then he started with the stats section.

「 Strength : 5 」 | 「 Perception : 5 」| 「 Endurance : 5 」| 「 Charisma : 5 」

「 Intelligence : 5 」| 「 Agility : 5 」| 「 Luck : 5 」

Oh my god, this was just the fallout S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes, and luckily, all his attributes are at 5. Damn, he's surprised he lucked out with all his stats being 5's. With these stats he's at least average; he's just glad it was average across the board because for a little while in high school he swore he had the idiot savant thing going on with how dumb he was. If this was going by Fallout standards, he can probably guess what his skills will be like, but he's going to check anyway.

As he opened the skills tab, the panel was completely blank except for some categories you would see in a stereotypical RPG and the world-hopping skill in the magic section.

「 Skills 」

 ✦ Crafting

 ✦ Magic

 ↳ 〈 World-Hopping 〉

 ✦ Social

 ✦ Combat

 ✦ Knowledge

 ✦ Athletics

From the looks of it, it seems he didn't start with any skills, so he went to check out the other tabs and opened up the Internet tab. As soon as he did, Google popped into his view.

- Sigh, even being reincarnated into another world, you can't get away from Google.-

After he finished looking at the Internet tab, he thought he should hurry up and finish the process for him to reincarnate. He wondered how the reincarnation was going to be done. Was he going to reincarnate as a baby, or was it going to just plop him down somewhere random and say, Have at it?

Wait a sec. He sees some text at the bottom of the screen he forgot to read. Oh, it states that he will be placed in a constructed body of similar age in a random location away from any possible danger.

That's some great news that he didn't have to start life again as a baby. Could you imagine having to go through puberty and the awkwardness again? He had enough of that back in middle school.

He just had to enter his name like the screen says; he had a feeling he should choose a new name for a new lifetime. Besides, for some reason, he doesn't even remember his name, but he does remember the name of some character he made, so he will just use that.

[ You have entered the name Lysander Crassus. ]

[ Good luck with your reincarnation !]
