As the first wave came closer and closer. I simply watched for now, holding off from helping at the moment.
I want to see how the villager would fair against the pillager first.
That doesn't mean I wouldn't help, I want to conserved my limited ammo and help when needed.
Also if I immediately start shooting and killing, the village guards would get quickly get complacent in battle.
This would make them think that I would do all the work protecting them, not knowing I have limited ammunition and I can only do so much.
As the first wave of pillagers crashes into the villagers line, the 4 golem began pummelling the pillager while the hunter tries to pick off as many crossbow archer as they could.
Although few in number, the hunter are pretty accurate with their bow swiftly hitting a pillager one after another.
The shield bearer formed a tight line locking there shield against each other and stabbing the pillager in between the gap as the pillagers crashes into the shield wall.
Behind the shield wall was a line of pikemen stabbing into the enemies here and there.
After a few minutes of fighting, the first wave was soon annihilated with the golems doing most of the work finally squashing the first wave captain into pulp.
Most of the villagers took a big breath of relief while some had scrambled to scavenge whatever equipments they could from the dead pillagers.
Some had swapped out there farmer hoe for an axe or a sword. A few manage to grab a crossbow and any arrow they could reach.
Before a minute could even pass, another raid horn blared and a second wave had began making their way to the village defender.
The defender quickly tried to rush their way back to reformed their makeshift formation and braced for the impact.
*Bam*
The second wave crashes into the defense line another brawl has broken out. This time the second wave was a size larger compared to the first wave, but no notable danger such as evoker, witch, or ravager yet.
The villager valiantly defended there position but would be trucked by an arrow here and there but no fatality at the moment, just some small wound.
As the sun began to settle over the horizon, the battle soon came to a conclusion with the second wave also being annihilated.
*sigh*
"It's going be a long night tonight."
