Seeing the army over the horizon, I realized that this was a pillager raid.
Wondering why they would be raiding this village, I soon realized I had forgot a crucial mechanic from the game, the bad omen.
Everytime a player kills a villager captain they would recieve a bad omen and that level would rise for every captain.
I then soon remembered, the pillager leader office with 8 other pillagers inside were probably also a high ranking leader because there was a whole lot more pillagers than a simple bad omen would have.
"Sh*t I probably have a level 8 Bad Omen effect but never realized because I don't have a player interface."
"This'll be a really long night and do I have enough ammo?"
Realizing I don't have enough ammo on me and having forgotten to repack the spent magazine from the last raid on the outpost and mobs experiment.
I quickly rushed down to the car to quickly get the ammo stockpile and speedload the magazine.
The pillagers army is still a distant away and wouldn't get to the village for another 20 or 30 minutes but another issue is that I didn't have enough bullet for every pillagers.
I could use the infinity book but I'm planning to save it for later, I could also simply run but after remembering the rewards for defeating a raid is really enticing.
Especially the totem of undying and potentially more enchantment books and equipments.
Gritting my teeth, I loaded what I could into the magazines and shoved the leftover ammo box into my backpack.
Putting on my ballistic helmet, armored vest and chest rig; I made my way back up the church tower.
Looking down at the a small platoon size village guards and about 4 golem, I could see some of them trembling.
Most were tightly clutching their scythe, other were using a sword and spear. A few of the swordman had shield. There were very few range units at most about 8, likely small game hunter.
The only heavy unit the village would be the 4 golem but, I'm not sure if they could take on the amount of ravagers the pillagers have.
The pillagers is still far away, perhaps maybe a kilometer to the village give or take, if I had range the distance correctly.
Up in the church tower, I watch the army approaches estimating their numbers and strengths.
With help from the system counting, the opposing force ranges between 700 or 800 strong as roughly the size of a small battalion.
Along with them was maybe 20 or 30 ravagers with rider on top of them with their banner mounted in their back.
After a few more minutes, the army halted. I saw a few of the pillager with banner on their back discussing something.
Before long, a horn blared out by the pillager and I saw about 50 pillagers breaking from their main formation and began charging at the vilage.
