Year 1/1/26 the day I regressed.
I woke up suddenly.
Whaa!
I barely don't know how I end up here. The room was too quiet and unfamiliar. The place was neat and clean.
"Where am I...?" I was confused and feeling weird.
And then a sudden buzz(static) ring straight to my braincells.
I scream in pain.
Aaahhh!
A new memory that I didn't know I had. Was completely forcing itself to my brain, adding new pictures and information.
It's like updating a new memory to another empty storage. Providing a necessary process.
In a few hours.
I already knew what was going on.
"My name is Allen." Soft, low tone.
"Damn it! How did I end up here?" Curious about how he got there.
Then, a sudden image from the host memories showed.
Gasp! His eyes widened.
[Flashbacks]
A giant portal opened, and a new entity came out and cause chaos.
The host was the survivor of that day.
However, he was just the average man. Who hasn't awakened any special skill or abilities. Then, one day. He found a hidden door within the dungeon that led to him a secret passage.
He discovered an artifact that could literally summon a system.
That same system that helps throughout my adventures becomes the strongest hunter in the nation. But it comes with the price.
I lost my love that was close to me. Because of the enemies that were also claimed as my allies were secretly plotted against me.
They knew about the system.
Since the recent host told them everything.
And when the invasion stops. The last threat was me. I was someone they couldn't control.
So they allied with one another to plot against me. They managed to injure me by pure luck.
I was able to survive, but in the end, they managed to kill me with overwhelming numbers. Despite traveling and hidden among other cities without resting.
I was high alert, and I couldn't trust anyone. Since the government frames me and I end up being the most wanted criminal throughout the states.
I, who obtained the title of national level hunter.
Who was able to stop the crisis for forcing their way into our world. And they Mark me as highest criminal.
I who save humanity being treated as such.
...
"Bastards!" Allen clenched his teeth pure anger.
Allen couldn't believe it.
All his life...
He stops the invaders from entering our world, and this is his favor.
By making me the biggest villain.
And the one who plot against me. Was my best friend who I was friends with.
Never in the million years.
Thought his friend, who he trusted, betrayed him.
But now...
He was back to where he was always at.
In his room and the next thing happened—
A sudden shout.
"Allen! You're late for work!"
His mother had a loud voice.
Allen was shaking.
He wasn't sure if he heard his mother right.
It was like a memorable feeling he had missed a long time.
He immediately rushes towards the voice without a second thought.
His mother that died was alive.
Once he saw her back in the kitchen, washing the dishes. Unaware of his son presence.
Allen tears slowly drips.
"M-mom... is it... R-r-really you," his soft shaking voice. His hand slowly moves towards her.
He couldn't hold in his sorrow. He fear that this was just a sick joke.
The mother who died in the host previous life was standing right in front of him.
He doubted himself, thinking that this was just a dream. Who he did not want to wake up.
He approached and hugged her with his whole might.
Shocking her.
"Hey! What's got into you?" Her voice filled with annoyance.
Allen who didn't care if she was angry.
This warm hug was enough for him to fully know that he wasn't dreaming.
"I love you, mom..." His words came from his heart.
His mom name was Claire.
Claire removed his hand gently, "You're late... go back upstairs and immediately get to work." Her voice filled with anger.
Allen smiled, "I'll just call in—"
"ABSOLUTELY NOT!" She caught him off. She pointed her fingers towards his son chest with a strict tone.
"My son ain't gonna be lay around in my house! Get your ass up and get to work," her voice filled with a threatening tone.
Allen could sense grim reaper behind her. Warning him a major threat. Allen immediately nodded without hesitation and ran back upstairs, "Yes, mom!" His scare voice.
Claire sighs...
"What am I could I do with you," she saw a picture frame with her and everyone in it.
...
Allen at the abandoned warehouse.
"This was the place..." He said.
He remembered this place was where he got that artifact.
A portal was still whirling in mid-air.
Tsk..
"This is where I got it, and I won't make that same mistake again."
Then, a soft footsteps behind him revealing shadow figure.
"Hey Allen!" A random voice.
Allen body tense up.
That voice was enough for him to get angry. He didn't want to turn around and say anything to him. His facial expression was darken.
The voice is not other than his friend, whom he trusted.
The one who will betray him in the future.
The friend name zues.
The very friend who deliberately killed him. However, despite his death. The system, who he inherent, didn't acknowledge his friend who wanted to take his system.
And the system vanish and no longer able to exist. Since its purpose was to help its host.
He was completely mad and immediately killed him.
Allen knows why he was being petty.
His friend, who he knows, was a type person who wanted to be the main protagonist.
Who watches me from the sideline taking all the attention away from him. Gaining all the fans, wealth, and even status.
Zues who remain back as my shadow, taking away everything that he always wanted.
Out of jealousy.
He plotted behind my back, and when the time was right. He went ahead and joined other forces that were capable.
Zues approach from behind with warm smiled and wrapped his arm around him, "So! What's this opportunity to whom you wanted me to come so bad?"
Zues was unaware of the mood.
Allen face was still darken.
His vains were showing, and his eyes glow with murder intentions. His hand was already clenched, hardened, and attempts to punch his face with his fist.
Zues said, "Buddy! Ain't you going to say something?" His voice was playful.
Allen was about to calm himself down and explain the details and as to why he was there.
"Yes... but I want you to listen carefully." His voice was serious and venomous.
Zues could feel hostility within his voice, but he shoved it, thinking that it was just his imagination.
"Ok..." He said.
Allen told him about what's inside the portal.
Zues eyes widened, "What! Then why aren't you raid it already?" His voice filled with curiosity.
Allen deliberately lies to him, "Because... I couldn't go alone, I might end up getting trapped, and who knows when anyone will find out about this place," his lie was believable.
Zues nods, "True... oh well, let's raid it then," his smile filled with greed.
Zues was already thinking about the artifact that could literally help him with his growth. And Allen just told him everything, and what he said is true. Then, it's possible that the artifact could help him obtain unimaginable power.
Zues grabbed him and said, "Let's go in..."
Allen, who shove his hand away, "Just keep your distance," his voice filled with hate.
Augh!
Zues couldn't tell why he was acting differently and cold towards him. Was it something he said?
He couldn't remember how he made Allen act the way he was.
But he didn't mind it. Since his main objective is inside the gate so he just asks him when he has the chance.
They both head towards the gate.
...
Back out the gate.
Bzzz!(static)
The gate slowly opens once again, and both walk out unharmed.
Zues said, "Hahah...!" He finally understood it. "It was really what you said! The system truly exists!" His overwhelmed with confidence and joy.
Zues immediately hugs Allen with happiness, "HAHAH! I KNEW YOU WERE RIGHT!" He couldn't believe Allen his best to help him to get a system. He will remember his kindness—
No, he will forever be in his debt.
Allen walked away without looking back, "Just do what you wanted. Become the hero you always dream of," his voice filled with dark and hate.
Zues said, "Hey, where you going? Why not stay at my place.."
Allen was already gone.
He wasn't the slightest interested.
"What's wrong with him?" Zues was concerned. He doesn't know why he was acting like they weren't friends anymore. But he shoved that thought away, "Did someone hurt him?" If someone did.
He will deal with it.
Since he got the system.
This was his chance to level up and quickly face off the major threat.
...
Inside his room.
Sighs...
"Finally. I can now rest without worries," his tone was relaxed.
He sits with frustration headache.
He removed his shirt, showing his scrawny, weak pale figure.
He slowly looks at the mirror, revealing his reflection, "I look pathetic."
Back then, when his powers were at peak. No one stood a chance against his overwhelming power, but the reason why he lost.
He didn't have enough rest or stop his friends sneak attack, and now he's back in his weak state.
He no longer the same confidence as he was back then.
But he understands why this happened.
It was fate.
To put it simple: I was meant to die, and the only one who could do that was his friend. This was all part of the story— this wasn't a decision or choice, but it was meant by fate. And I just happened to be in that story. However, I won't be taking the role of being heroic— that part was now taken.
To be exact...
I give it to someone else.
Tsk, 'I won't be the main character anymore. Screw it!' I refuse to take the role.
I won't risk my life or whom I love to get swept on some role that will eventually happen.
This time...
I'm completely done with being a hero.
"In this lifetime. I won't be gullable or naive." His face was serious, and his word filled with anger.
While he was talking to himself.
A sudden "Ding! " rang within his room.
Whaaa!
He jumped with a surprise by the sound.
A system popped up right in front him showing a screen displays in mid-air.

He pressed the 'yes' button.

Allen, who saw the screen and typed back.
"And why would I do that..." He said.
[Pladgue replied back: I'll share 10% of growth energy.]
Allen, who is confused.
He doesn't know what "growth energy" it is. It could be something that involves growth but doesn't fully know.
So he thought and calculated his decision.
He replied back, "Sorry... but I won't give up my world..." He was about to refused but Plague responded back quick with intentions.
Ding!
[Plague respond back: WAIT!]
Allen remains calm and sees what's the person is up to. He noticed the user was in a hurry to reply back.
[Plague respond: 30... no 45% share... that's all I could put... no more...]
Allen could sense something was wrong, so he replied again, "No. My answer remains the same..."
