In the days of old, a curse befell humanity, a curse so grave its essence still echoes through time, it created and destroyed everything, reforming the infinite cosmos all across the planes, a certain people begun to disappear, leaving behind misplaced memories, those inflicted bearing an accursed title, those whose existence is but a myth, Phantom wanderers, those who exist neither in memory nor thoughts but in fantasies, leaving behind misplaced memories. All humanity knows is a hint about Its creator...[myth]... not a god, but something__ "unknown" Our hero's trek along the Path of Aether_ begins... The hot desert sun was above head, the dunes casting faint shadows on the sand, in a white cloak, a skinny boy with blue-green hair and almond eyes drenched in sweat was trekking the vast expanse of the sand. Each step was more gruesome and subtler than the last, Scarcity whispered "they couldn't have gone too far!" he faintly raised his long sleeve and wiped the sweat from his brow shielding his eyes from the gust of sandy wind that blew, last night was strange, after having a vision which he is struggling to recall, the next moment he awoke in the desert, in his mind he just couldn't bring himself to accept that he was lost, somehow "they must've just forgotten to wake me up.... but that doesn't sound realistic at all! Where the hell am I!!" He shouted out, his voice echoing among the dunes a great silence befell soon after, Scarcity squinted as he studied the dunes before him 'the hell is that?' a dust cloud was sturdily rising close to the dunes where he stood, Scarcity halted, sinking his feet deeper into the sand, the howling cold dusty wind blowing his cloak, the dust steadily rising 'shiiiit!' he soon realised exactly what was approaching him, a [chaos Aether ] wandering desert worm and by the looks of things, a really big one, these worms were known for their monstrous appeal and brutality. Scarcity zipped around and begun scattering, 'how in the hell did I get into this situation!...'he cried inwardly 'but this does make a good tale to tell around the camp fire... if I survive and find them' he added sarcastically' as though almost forgetting the situation at hand, opposing the force of the sand as the ground begun to quake knocking him off his balance, he staggered but kept moving from under the dunes the creature perused after him, closing the distance between them and filling the air in a dusty breeze, soon he could no longer observe a thing around, the sun's rays dimly being beamed by the rising dust '___this can't be happening!___' he halted and cautiously begun to study his surroundings 'I can't die like..' he peered downwards and a rambling shook right beneath his feet "crap! It's moving up!", Scarcity leaped to the side and fell to the ground, it burst out its head folded into a cone with segments running about its neck extending upwards sprinkling dust onto Scarcity, his eyes wide and heart racing as though he had completed a lap in a marathon, he finally realised what he was up against, fear trickled around his skin making the hairs stand 'there's no way I'll survive this' he whispered. The creature opened its scattered-hairy cone shaped mouth revealing a wide segmented slimy maw with razor sharp slime coated stained teeth sprouting from every segment and, it shrieked a defining cry and spewing saliva, Scarcity capped his ears with eyes wide, feeling like a mouse backed in a corner by a hungry cat, it swiftly lowered its eyeless head to face him and steadily edged towards him, Scarcity struggled to his feet shivering in shockgrounding him "why can't I move! Damn!" he cursed and without a moment to spare, it glided and drenched him in its slimy maw, sweeping him off the sand and tossing him amid air, "...." 'So much for a great tale...', it snatched him___ and that was his end, in his last moments, Scarcity beheld the cloud-less azure sky, marvelling at the sun 'I never thought... this is how I'll end'. and A voice spoke out
[Welcome! Scarcity!] [Your trek along the path of Aether __begins!]
NO! How is this possible! How did I get messed up in this? ... he felt that Something wasn't quite right, Scarcity saw nothing, feeling as though floating in air, and then, he found himself peering at a rusty roof at a small window that cast rays onto his face in a dim lit room that reeked with the stench of corpses and blood, as his head loosened up, he soon realised that he lay on a hospital bed and was firmly chained to it "hey! What the hell!" he shouted out, shaking vigorously, the air in the room made him feel sickly. On peering into the distance, the blood-stained iron sheet walls were lined with large blood-stained cutting instruments held by rusty protruding nails 'shit! Shit! __ SHIT! __ this is a slaughter house! What the hell am I doing, in a slaughter house!' he cursed turning vigorously in the chains, and then, the room was suddenly drenched in the rhythm of heels striding towards him and from the blinding light of a door way a curvaceous silhouette marched in. 'Finally! A person's here, maybe I can ask what this is all about' "hey! What the hell's going on!" he yelled, but there was no response, the silhouette drew closer becoming much clearer as an astonishing beautiful girl dressed in a black sleeveless dress topped with a blood-stained white apron, her aqua blue wide wild eyes glinting with a sense of death, a psychotic smirk sculpted on her face, her long silky red hair dancing in the wind. I feel screwed, no way this chick ain't psycho! "Uhm! Hello, could you..." her melodious voice interrupted "Die!" 'Shit!' Scarcity thought, shivering and trying to break free. "Die! Die! Die! You ... will ... die!" she laughed, sending chills down Scarcity's spine, who the hell is this messed up chick! Die! Who in the hell welcomes someone like that "uhm!" Scarcity's voice was shaky "w-where am I a-and who are you!" "Die! Thats all... you need to know. Don't worry, your life __was__ in safe hands! Are you ready to die?" she was now standing by the side of the bed, with her head tilted forward blocking the light, and casting a shadow onto his face, her hair shrouding her face. With wide eyes Scarcity slowly studied her cold emotionless face and wild blue eyes. feeling overwhelmed and unable to defend himself, and indeed, he was. I'm not ready to die, not when I don't even have a girlfriend! I have to be careful with how I reply, I'll be optimistic "n-no... I-I'm not ready!"
"Well, __ too bad I didn't ask for your opinion!" but you literally just aske... uhg! I'm done for, I-I just can't believe this is how I go out! and With one swift motion, she reached into her pouch, grabbed a small glinting blade and sliced Scarcity's throat, Scarcity convulsed, feeling the warm blood flood in his throat and choke him, tears streamed down his frightful visage as he gasped, blood gushing all around, blood gushed onto her face bearing a psychotic smile, he faintly glanced upwards where his eyes locked with those of his killer, her apron being stained with blood, she was unbothered, in fact happy with her deeds, she poked her finger into his wide slit throat, smudged her finger in the warm oozing blood, raised it to her mouth and smeared it on her upper lip then, in a creepy tone she hummed a twisted lullaby that made the hairs on Scarcity's cold skin stand, making him feel as though he was on his way to madness. This... this is a cruel monster!, why would you do this __crazy bitch!!, all around him, the world begun to blur, his eyes slowly closing as life slowly fading away, he stopped struggling, the blood had clotted and filled up his air way, his face had turned pale as he struggled to stay alert, Scarcity thought about a lot during his last moments, screw being optimistic ... the world around him glitched and it was as though he got to witness the events at hand rewind, he felt the blood flow back, the stinging pain that made him wish he were... dead, the blade swiftly reversing and the slit in his throat in a slurry gape up "Die! Thats all... you need to know. Don't worry, your life __was__ in safe hands! Are you ready to die?" she was now standing by the side of the bed. Her psychotic smile unnerving...
