Chapter 25 - Deep Breath, Dizziness is Normal

Behind, Chai San, who had deliberately slowed down, arrived a dozen or so seconds after Chai Wu had rushed into the weeds.

He clearly saw the messy footprints on the ground and looked up at the weeds. He hesitated noticeably, probably having the same thought as Chai Wu.

It was while he was hesitating, standing in place, that a figure silently descended from a tree to the ground. Soul Power surged beneath his feet, making his steps exceptionally light.

Huo Yuhhao stared coldly at Chai San's back. His right hand slowly gripped the sheath containing the White Tiger Dagger, and then gently drew out the White Tiger Dagger, a Soul Tool of the fifth rank.

The blade, as thin as a cicada's wing, shimmered with cold light. Even though the sunlight was intense, it couldn't overcome the chill of the blade.

Chai San's expression shifted for several seconds. Finally, he seemed to make a decision, not intending to enter the weeds.

If Chai Wu caught the person, he would say he ran slowly and chose the wrong direction. Although his reward would be less, he would still get a share, and there was no need to risk his life.

After all, everyone knew he was genuinely weak, not just pretending.

If Chai Wu didn't catch the person and even got killed, he wouldn't lose out. At least, his own life would be safe.

"Survival is the priority."

Chai San murmured to himself.

But what he didn't notice was a figure with a blank expression approaching him silently.

"Ugh!"

Just as Chai San was about to turn around and retreat, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his heart. At the same time, a gloved hand forcefully covered his mouth, preventing him from making any noise.

Chai San's pupils widened, and his whole body turned cold. He endured the excruciating pain in his heart and tried to resist, but he was already weak. Moreover, the more he struggled, the more the blade inserted into his heart would twist, tearing his flesh and blood, preventing his resistance. His seemingly normal struggle was like a futile effort.

Because of the adrenaline, Chai San's mind was incredibly clear at this moment. He could feel something spilling out from his heart, and at the same time, his body became increasingly light.

Gradually, his head began to spin, and he could no longer resist.

"Breathe deeply, dizziness is normal."

A low voice rang out beside Chai San's ear. A look of shock flashed in Chai San's eyes; he recognized the voice.

Huo Yuhhao stood calmly behind Chai San. With his left hand, he held the White Tiger Dagger and plunged it directly through Chai San's heart. A large amount of blood spurted from the wound, staining his clothes.

Chai San slowly stopped struggling. After a few spasms, his pupils dilated, and he finally breathed his last.

After killing Chai San, Huo Yuhhao didn't relax. He stared straight ahead. The tall weeds were pushed aside, and a burly figure slowly emerged.

Chai Wu looked at Huo Yuhhao with a complex expression, tinged with a hint of excitement.

"I almost fell for it."

Huo Yuhhao casually pulled out the White Tiger Dagger and pushed Chai San's body aside. There was a hint of surprise in his eyes, but that was all.

"They're all dead. Although Manager Wang will get the lion's share of the reward, I'll still get a bigger cut," Chai Wu said to Huo Yuhhao. "Using fake footprints to trick me into chasing you, you planned it quite well."

"Unfortunately, my father was a hunter. I'm too familiar with the illusions you set up."

"So, you were waiting for me to kill Chai San before you came out?" Huo Yuhhao gripped the White Tiger Dagger tightly.

Chai Wu didn't hold back. "Chai San deliberately slowed down, didn't he? He wanted me to fight you first, and then reap the benefits. So, why can't I do the same?"

"After running those few hundred meters and then using your Soul Power to hide your footsteps, you probably don't have much Soul Power left, right? Oh, that's right, you should still have arrows in your Sleeve Arrow. I need to be careful."

Huo Yuhhao frowned slightly, as if his secrets had been seen through.

Seeing this, Chai Wu smiled slightly. "I originally wanted to capture you alive, but that was too risky. Killing you is more secure."

As he spoke, Chai Wu slowly moved forward a little, closing the distance with Huo Yuhhao while speaking to distract him. "The more careless a person is, the more likely they are to stumble when things are going well. Chai San, that idiot, made this mistake."

Seeing the distance between himself and Huo Yuhhao closing, Chai Wu's lips curled into a hidden smile. However, he didn't let his guard down. Both the White Tiger Dagger and the Sleeve Arrow hidden on Huo Yuhhao's wrist were nothing to be trifled with. He didn't underestimate Huo Yuhhao just because he was a child.

A child who could kill two people couldn't be ordinary, could he?

Finally, when Chai Wu believed he was within a distance to subdue Huo Yuhhao instantly if he exploded with Soul Power, he stopped. Across from him, Huo Yuhhao seemed genuinely distracted, instinctively lowering his head to look at the already dead Chai San on the ground.

"Swish."

The moment arrived. The instant Huo Yuhhao made that movement, Chai Wu's eyes, like a snake, locked onto his prey. His legs exploded with power, and he charged forward like a cheetah. The muscles in his arms bulged with veins, and he changed his palm into a fist, aiming directly at Huo Yuhhao's head.

However, at that very moment, when Chai Wu was thrilled at the thought of capturing Huo Yuhhao, a crack, he didn't know when it had appeared, split open on Huo Yuhhao's brow. A faint light flickered within, and the next second, Huo Yuhhao faced Chai Wu, who was now right in front of him.

The force of the fist had already reached Huo Yuhhao's face. Just as Chai Wu was ecstatic, a glimmer of golden light was reflected in his pupils.

"Swish."

In the overgrown forest, a splash of bright gold dominated the scene.

Silence seemed to fall. Two figures stood facing each other.

Chai Wu's fist hung in mid-air. His lips parted, and he stared blankly at Huo Yuhhao, who was bathed in sunlight. A ray of light fell on Huo Yuhhao, cloaking him in a dazzling glow. The strange fissure between his eyebrows slowly disappeared, and everything returned to calm.

"My Soul Power is indeed nearly depleted, but... who told you I have no other tricks?" Huo Yuhhao slowly raised his right hand. As his sleeve slid back slightly, the circular Sleeve Arrow on his wrist was revealed.

"Whoosh!"

The next instant, Huo Yuhhao activated the Sleeve Arrow, launching an extremely sharp iron spike that instantly pierced Chai Wu's forehead.

"You..."

Chai Wu's eyes glazed over, filled with confusion. His body went limp, and he collapsed straight to the ground. He didn't understand. How could someone without a Soul Ring use a Soul Skill?

A wisp of invisible energy gathered from Chai Wu's corpse and transformed into a stream of air that flowed into Huo Yuhhao's body.

Huo Yuhhao walked forward a few steps and pulled out the iron spike that was lodged in Chai Wu's forehead.

He casually explained, "I'm the protagonist, so it's normal to have something special, right?"

One really couldn't be careless; otherwise, it was easy to stumble. Therefore, Huo Yuhhao chose to explain things to a dead person, so there wouldn't be any unexpected counterattacks.

Of course, it was one thing for ordinary people, but another for soul masters.

Some soul masters could unleash special attacks even after death, and Huo Yuhhao was very aware of this.

After speaking, Huo Yuhhao looked up at the sky. Through the foliage, he lightly laughed and whispered to the sun, "Thanks."

In reality, what Chai Wu hadn't noticed was that Huo Yuhhao's standing position was always within the reach of sunlight.
