The kettle rang loudly that morning. But it didn't bother the old man. He casually flipped through the pages of his newspaper. Lily, who had just come downstairs, immediately picked up the kettle and poured the water inside right in front of the old man. "Thank you-" Lily swiftly took the glass before the old man. The two of them stared at each other for quite a long time.
"Okay. What do you want, my grand daughter?" he asked softly, then folded back the newspaper he was reading. "This is my water, Grandpa," Lily answered firmly. It seemed she didn't pour it for her grandfather. Hearing that, Grandpa could only laugh a little and went back to reading his newspaper. Lily who saw that could only puff out her cheeks. "Why did Grandpa give him permission?" she asked, now joining in at the dining table. "Who?" asked Grandpa, still busy with his newspaper. "Ciel. Why did Grandpa give him permission?" Lily snapped, annoyed. She didn't understand why her grandfather let her join this expedition.
Breakfast that morning was toast with jam. Lily's favorite food. She immediately took a few bites and drank the tea she had brewed.
"Oh yeah. This morning there was a letter for you from the guild," Grandpa said while sipping his coffee. Suddenly, Lily froze. "Heh," she responded flatly. "What's in it?" she asked again. She glared at her grandfather. "Just small talk from Ciel. And. Oh, he told you to visit him at the guild," Grandpa explained with a big smile on his face.
"He wasn't joking, after all," Lily muttered.
"Hmm?" Grandpa didn't understand what Lily was saying.
"It's okay." She immediately got up from the chair and took her red coat and bag. "Grandpa, I'm going now. See you later," Lily immediately ran out of the house, braving the pouring rain with her red coat. "You really do look like her," Grandpa muttered as he watched his granddaughter walk away. without knowing that it was the last time he would see his grand daughter.
