It rained again today. Although not as heavy as last night, it still made the villagers dissatisfied. Even though it rained almost every day, the villagers always found ways to survive in such situations, from farming to raising livestock. Even the children were running happily among the puddles.
That morning, it rained heavily. No one dared to go outside when it was that heavy.
It was quite boring for Lily. "Mom, when can I go out?" she asked quietly, staring blankly at her yard. "Until the rain stops, honey," Lily's mother answered patiently, folding the clothes she had been drying in a special room. Lily, who heard that, immediately lay down and rolled towards her mother. Her mother could only chuckle at her daughter's behavior. "Let me finish this. Then we'll play together," her mother said. Lily, who heard that, immediately sat up with sparkling eyes. "Can Lily help?" Suddenly a word came out of her mouth. "Of course," her mother replied. Hearing her mother's answer, Lily immediately took the cloth and folded it with a little help from her mother. It was the most beautiful day for Lily.
It was already dark, but father wasn't home yet. Usually, father came home before dark. "Lily, you eat first," said mother, seeing Lily starting to play with her food. "How about you, mother?" asked Lily, immediately stopping her spoon. "I'll wait for your father to come home," replied my mother, smiling. Lily heard her mother's answer clearly. However, she still refused to eat first. "Then I'll also wait for my father to come home," said Lily, immediately going to stand at the front door. Her mother, who saw that, immediately followed Lily. They both patiently waited for their father to come home.
Several hours had passed, but the father had not returned. This changed the mother's calm expression. Lily, who had been eagerly awaiting his arrival, began to feel sleepy. The atmosphere was tense for a while, until a knock was heard on the door. Mother immediately opened the door, feeling anxious. Lily, who heard it too, immediately opened her eyes and stood right next to her mother. As soon as they opened the door, they were both disappointed to see a group of adult men outside. One of them was talking to her mother, but Lily didn't really understand what they were talking about. What Lily knew was that her mother had fallen and cried after speaking to one of them.
After that, he lowered to speak to her. "Lily, your father has gone far away. So, he can no longer come home," she said. Lily didn't understand why he said that. Did her father leave her and her mother? When she pulled her mother's clothes, her mother immediately hugged her. She immediately turned her gaze to the group of adult men. After seeing the sack they were carrying, she realized that her father was no longer in this world. At that moment her world shattered into pieces.
