"How is that possible?" Mikoto said in disbelief.
From her perspective as a JÅnin, Itachi could never achieve the level of defeating a clan Genin in just two weeks.
It wasn't just her.
Fugaku's judgment was the same.
But they knew their child, and without absolute certainty, Itachi would not have agreed so easily.
"If Itachi truly achieves this and stays with the clan to train, I'm truly worried." Mikoto sighed, turning to Fugaku.
But even as a mother, she couldn't influence Itachi's thoughts.
"If he can achieve this, I think preventing him from attending Ninja School is more important than making friends," Fugaku said, his eyes darkening.
"He's already opened his Sharingan at the age of five, and he's talking about defeating a Genin in just two weeks. If the other high-ranking officials in the village knew about this, it would be extremely detrimental to Itachi and us."
Mikoto's pupils shrank.
She knew that the village's leaders remained wary of the Uchiha Clan because of what happened decades ago.
For years, they had consistently implemented a policy of suppressing the clan.
"Husband, what do you mean?" she whispered.
A few years ago, a gifted boy emerged from the clan, now serving as an ANBU officer directly under the Hokage.
Their recruitment of the boy into the ANBU was more a reflection of fear than of his talent.
If Itachi, the eldest son of the Uchiha Clan leader, showed even greater talent than that boy, how could the village leaders have turned a blind eye?
"When will this situation change?" Mikoto sighed.
She knelt, took Fugaku's arm, and whispered, "Hubby, you've worked hard."
"As the Clan Leader of the Uchiha Clan and Itachi's father, I should have considered all these things," Fugaku said, gently stroking her hair.
"If it were back during the Third Hokage's time, it would have been impossible. Fortunately, now that Minato Namikaze has become the Fourth Hokage, I believe these things will gradually improve."
Fugaku lowered his eyes, observing Mikoto's fair face, and smiled.
"He truly is a man who brings peace of mind, both during the previous war and now. I believe that with your and Minato's combined efforts, you will create a bright new future for Itachi, Sasuke, and the others!"
Mikoto looked at Fugaku, her eyes brightening.
Fugaku chuckled softly, then slowly lowered his head and kissed her smooth forehead.
...
The next day, before dawn, Itachi was already awake.
He cautiously walked into Sasuke's room, across from Mikoto and Fugaku's.
Sasuke was still sound asleep, his cheeks puffing slightly from his breathing.
"I'm going out," Itachi mouthed silently.
After leaving the house, he went to his own room and strapped two small sandbags he had prepared to his hands and feet.
He then donned a heavy garment, also laced with sandbags.
Carrying so much weight on his back was a struggle, even for Itachi, who had undergone extensive training before the age of five.
He couldn't even leap onto the roof.
This was the training method Itachi had devised for himself.
With his memories from the past, he didn't need to re-accumulate combat experience.
With his current chakra level, studying ninjutsu was pointless, and retraining shuriken techniques wasn't difficult.
However, he would be battling a clan Genin in just two weeks.
If he didn't strengthen his fundamentals quickly, he wouldn't be able to make any progress.
This method, though somewhat archaic, was the most effective for Itachi now.
Carrying the enormous weight, he first tried walking out of the house.
After getting used to the feeling, he slowly broke into a jog.
He was heading for the edge of the Uchiha clan's district, where Shisui lived in his memory.
He didn't know when Shisui would return home, so he could only wait for the time being.
Coincidentally, next to Shisui's house was the Uchiha clan's training ground, a forest.
"Huff, huff."
There was no one on the street at this time.
Itachi adjusted his gradually heavy breathing and took a rather difficult step.
Shortly after Itachi left, Fugaku pushed open the door of the room, leaned against the door frame, and crossed his arms.
He then entered Itachi's room and found a note he had left.
"This brat," Fugaku said, with a hint of surprise.
Itachi's note stated he would be training outside for the next two weeks.
While this might not seem like much to an ordinary ninja, in his and Mikoto's eyes, Itachi was still just a child.
Beyond his surprise, Fugaku was filled with anticipation for his son's capabilities.
Itachi's face was already covered in sweat.
He hadn't intended to spend the entire fortnight training.
Training was secondary.
The most important thing right now was to see Shisui as soon as possible.
However, ANBU ninjas had no regular routines or return schedules.
He had observed his mother the previous night and found she was no longer experiencing any major health issues.
After all, Mikoto had been a JÅnin of the Uchiha clan and didn't need the long recovery period of an ordinary person.
As Itachi pondered his next plan, he headed for the forest training grounds near Shisui's residence.
The journey that normally took a dozen minutes took him a full two hours.
When he arrived, his clothes were soaked with sweat.
However, he did not immediately remove the weights.
Instead, he began to practice some basic physical movements.
As the youngest squad leader of the ANBU, Itachi was not only proficient in dÅjutsu, ninjutsu, and genjutsu.
Although his physical skills could not be compared with the few ninjas who specialized in these skills, they were also top-notch.
After completing several sets of physical movements, Itachi's five-year-old body had completely reached its limit.
He fell to the ground and began to slowly regulate his breathing.
...
After a short rest, Itachi finally unloaded all the weights from his body.
He was not idle after that, but did some stretching exercises.
However, these exercises were not difficult and did not require much effort.
After half an hour, Itachi's physical strength was slightly restored.
Itachi sat down on the spot and took out a ration pill from a ninja tool bag he carried with him and swallowed it.
He had to wait here for Shisui for half a month and could not carry much dry food.
Ration pills were the main items used by ninjas to replenish their physical strength during the Ninja World War.
When he was in the Akatsuki organization, Itachi often used ration pills to restore his physical strength.
Inadvertently recalling this, Itachi pondered in his heart.
"At this time, those guys should not have joined the Akatsuki yet."
In the Akatsuki organization, except for the leaders Pain and the masked man who called himself Madara, who made Itachi very afraid, every other member was an S-level wanted criminal on the wanted list of various countries.
Any one of them is a significant threat. For example, Deidara and Sasori were able to infiltrate Sunagakure, one of the Five Great Ninja Nations, and capture the Fifth Kazekage, Gaara, the Jinchuriki of Shukaku, the One-Tailed Beast, before the entire village's ninjas could react.
Furthermore, Sasori was only responsible for dealing with the guards and internal support personnel.
Deidara was the one who took action.
This doesn't mean Deidara alone could take on the entire Sand Village.
After all, due to the nature of the terrain and the limited space to fight, Gaara was unable to focus on fighting Deidara.
However, ninja combat inherently cannot ignore these objective factors.
For example, during the Nine-Tails incident, Madara, having lost most of his power, was no match for the Fourth Hokage.
Yet, the Fourth Hokage paid the price of his life to prevent Madara from using the Nine-Tails to destroy Konoha.
Therefore, preventing Madara from recruiting every member of the Akatsuki organization would also be Itachi's future mission.
Otherwise, they would all become a formidable threat to Konoha.
The more Itachi pondered, the greater the pressure on him.
Feeling his body had largely recovered, he glided to a large tree.
He pulled four shurikens from his ninja tool bag, two in each hand, and shook his wrists.
Itachi needed to test how much of his tool-throwing technique remained.
This was one of the reasons he was eager to train, increasing his strength and speed.
Throwing shurikens also required considerable force and reflexes.
"Swish!"
He grasped the shurikens and flung them all out.
For Itachi, throwing shurikens was a no-brainer.
But the moment the tools were flung, Itachi sensed something was amiss.
Though he was still conscious, his body's strength and reflexes were clearly insufficient.
The two shurikens thrown from his right hand, aligned one above the other, lodged themselves in the tree directly in front of him.
The shurikens from his left hand flew out in a rotating pattern, both horizontally and vertically.
Their trajectory gradually changed as they pierced the forest.
However, once they changed their trajectory, their force rapidly diminished, and they fell to the ground.
Itachi's eyes narrowed slightly.
He had anticipated this situation before embarking on this training session.
Beyond strength and reflexes, Itachi's five-year-old body was still unfamiliar with the practice of throwing ninja tools.
To master the shuriken to the point where it flowed effortlessly with the eye and hand, not only did one need to cultivate understanding, but physical dexterity was equally crucial.
In fact, Itachi's throwing skill was comparable to that of few Genin in his clan, but compared to his past self, it was far inferior.
Itachi's shuriken technique surpassed that of his father, the head of the Uchiha clan.
However, having already undergone physical training, forcing himself to continue in such a short period of time would only damage his body.
Therefore, the training Itachi needed now was repeated shuriken throwing exercises to acclimate his body.
He retrieved the shuriken he had previously thrown and immediately repeated the previous exercise.
Since the security forces have been busy lately, Itachi's training was relatively peaceful, and no one disturbed him.
In this way, he practiced shuriken throwing for five or six hours in a row.
It was already noon, the hottest time of the day.
"Swish, swish!"
Four shurikens flew out of Itachi's hand again.
The black shurikens turned into black shadows, rubbing against the air and making sounds.
Two of them hit the tree in front of Itachi, neatly arranged up and down.
The two shurikens shot into the woods again, but this time, the change in trajectory was obviously much faster than before.
"Dangdang!"
Under Itachi's gaze, the two shurikens finally collided on the expected trajectory, but at this time the remaining force on the ninja tool was no longer enough.
So, one of the shurikens, which had just begun to make a right-angle turn, flew only a few dozen centimeters before falling to the ground.
Seeing this, Itachi shook his head slightly. He could restore his physical dexterity within a few hours, but strength and reflexes were not so easy to achieve.
After throwing shurikens continuously for so long, Itachi's arms felt aching.
So, after a moment's deliberation, he first retrieved the shurikens.
Itachi stood before a large tree, pondering for a moment.
Swish!
Then, suddenly in motion, he ran towards the tree ahead.
Reaching the trunk, Itachi stepped directly onto it and began running along it without stopping.
This was the most basic training for becoming a ninja, strengthening chakra control.
Of course, it was no difficulty for Itachi.
However, he wasn't satisfied with this. When he reached a branch, he stepped on it.
Squeak!
The branch trembled slightly.
It was much thinner than the trunk, so the requirements for chakra control were much more stringent.
The branch was even smaller than Itachi's foot.
But as soon as Itachi's second foot touched the branch, its trembling ceased.
Itachi had mastered his strength, now completely suspended upside down from the branch, his hair drooping due to gravity.
He shifted his body on the branch, which was no bigger than his foot, and with a single shift of foot, he found a steady footing, righting himself.
He was able to accomplish this so effortlessly because, having undergone extensive training before the age of five, his experience and intelligence naturally made this level of skill a breeze.
With a swish, his back foot gently stamped on the branch, causing the leaves to rustle and fall, sending two flakes flying.
His entire body shot out, landing smoothly on a branch several meters away.
A faint smile crossed Itachi's face, his gaze forward and to the left, before he leaped sideways.
With the swiftness of a cat, he clung to the target tree with agility.
Itachi didn't stop for long before landing on the next target tree.
