Chapter 27 - Prologue of the Dark Hero

Dragon Knights were never a profession that got along well with dragons, and Sig and his vassal dragons weren't in a so-called partnership; simply put, it was a master-servant relationship.

"Dominion Spell" was a necessary skill for taming dragons, a special type of mental control spell.

It had a specialized effect on dragons, granting completely loyal servants, and the caster would not experience much change compared to before, with the effect lasting until the caster's death.

However, its control effect on other races was very poor, though there was a prerequisite that one had to be level 70 or above to resist, which was why he let the Leader of the Divine Humans go.

Merely giving him a beating and leaving him bruised was already an act of great mercy.

"Quinn Eise Hassea Quintia, I hereby pay my respects to my Master!"

Quinn Eise knelt excitedly, and his magical beasts also prostrated themselves on the ground, following their master.

Sig immediately noticed the deep red owl; its feathers had mostly fallen out from the Shadow Dragon's attack, and some areas were bald, but it hadn't sustained fatal injuries.

In fact, these magical beasts were at most level 20, and to ensure Quinn Eise's survival, he had the Shadow Dragon hold back.

"Rise, there's no need to be so respectful; you are now my direct subordinate."

Sig stroked the owl's head and cast a healing spell on it, causing new feathers to grow back in the bald spots.

The most basic of holy magic was life recovery magic, which he naturally used with ease, and he was also half a Holy Knight, with a level 10 Holy Knight profession.

"This is the honor of a servant."

Looking at the owl, an emotion called envy appeared in Quinn Eise's eyes, and Sig felt that he must have seen it wrong.

Could it be that the Dominion Spell couldn't be used on humans? To be honest, he had only ever used it on dragons.

"Ahem, Quinn Eise, do you know what you should do?"

"I await your instructions, I will obey all of Master's commands!" Quinn Eise's face flushed with excitement, showing an extremely abnormal level of exhilaration.

Is this guy one of those? This question surfaced in Sig's mind.

Neither of these siblings seemed normal; the contrast before and after was too great, it really gave him goosebumps, hopefully there weren't any strange side effects!

Almost at the same time, near E-Rantel.

"Fei Fei-san, has Master sent another message?"

The young girl's face bore a gentle smile, and her pure, unblemished eyes seemed to belong only to the most innocent of people.

She wore a pure white dress, and her veil was the same color; although it was a simple nun's attire, it made her look incredibly beautiful when she wore it.

No one would doubt her identity, because a Saintess should look exactly like this.

"Hmm?"

Hearing the address "Master," Ainz was momentarily stunned at first, then he reacted, "Not yet, Sig-san is probably busy. Don't worry too much, Clementine."

"No, I just haven't seen Master in a long time, so I miss him a little." Clementine said sincerely, "I apologize if I made Fei Fei-san unhappy."

"Ah, oh, is that so? Then after we finish this mission, let's call Sig-san over to hang out for a while." Ainz said with a smile.

Although using a word like "hang out" wasn't entirely accurate, they might end up performing a mission together, but there was no need to be so careful when facing Clementine.

"Can I really?"

"Don't worry, I'm confident I can persuade him."

Ainz couldn't help but recall his adventuring companions; now, only Sig remained by his side. Even if Sig didn't join him in an adventurer party, it would still be good to let him experience the atmosphere.

The kind Sig would definitely agree!

"Thank you, Fei Fei-san." Clementine bowed.

"My Lord, if I may interject, who exactly is the Master that Clementine-san is referring to?" Cocytus asked, raising his small paw.

It was better when he didn't speak; Ainz had almost forgotten he was riding such a hamster, and a wave of shame surged through him again.

"He is my companion."

Cocytus wagged his tail, "Is he an adventurer like My Lord?"

"You'll meet him very soon. He likes cute animals very much, perhaps you two will get along well."

Sig had once expressed a desire to have a pet, but lacked the conditions to feed one. Ainz casually asked him what type he liked.

His exact words were, "Pets are better when they're obedient, but cute ones might not be bad either."

Cocytus thought My Lord was joking; he didn't seem to have any relation to cuteness, his figure was clearly majestic, otherwise he wouldn't be called the "Forest Wise King."

However, since it was My Lord who said it, as a subordinate, he had no position to refute. Cocytus's gaze gradually became firm, "I will definitely do my best."

What does this have to do with effort? Ainz secretly complained in his heart, but that "wise" gaze was indeed adorably foolish.

"Fei Fei-san, should we act now?"

The Undead were already close; if they delayed any longer, E-Rantel might fall, and then the meaning of saving it would be lost.

"Yes, let's go! Follow the original plan!" A red light flashed in Ainz's eyes; he was going to get serious.

The Jet Black Hero charged into the wave of Undead, leading the Saintess and the Forest Wise King to sweep all before them, ultimately saving E-Rantel—this was the final recorded outcome.

"Fei Fei-san, I'll go ahead."

Ainz nodded, "Go. Be sure to ensure Enri's safety. While you are in Nazarick, a Doppelgänger will disguise itself as you, so there's no need to worry about being suspected."

"Your subordinate naturally trusts the judgment of the esteemed Lords!" Clementine removed her white robe, revealing the bikini-style light armor worn underneath.

Although she had changed her job to a Saintess, her original Assassin profession would not be affected; humans could learn many more professions than other races.

Receiving such praise, Ainz felt a little embarrassed; Demiurge was entirely responsible for this, and the person was brought by Sig, so he felt like he hadn't really been useful.

Casually slicing through a skeleton in front of him, Ainz murmured, "I wonder what Sig-san is doing right now?"

"So that's it, Master wants me to use my Black Scripture identity to steal information from Theocracy?" Quinn Eise suddenly understood.

Shalltear bared her sharp fangs, "The information Lord Sig wants, how can you use a word like 'steal'? Lower servant, watch your wording."

Quinn Eise quickly lowered his head and apologized, "It's my fault, but the intelligence I have access to isn't much, I'm afraid it will disappoint Master. The First Seat can access figures of the Chief Priest's level, should we…?"

Sig interrupted him, "I don't feel at ease with that. Compared to him, I trust you more. I hope both you and your sister can be loyal to Nazarick and serve me at the same time."

"As for using the Dominion Spell, it was also done out of necessity."

"Please don't mind it. The moment I saw Master's figure, your subordinate felt as if a god had descended; it was truly a wonderful feeling. Thank you for your grace, Master! No, God!"

"Uh… hmm, I'm glad you think that way."

"As expected of Lord Sig! He's simply too amazing!" Infected by the atmosphere, Shalltear clapped her hands in admiration.

Don't say anything more, I feel like I've done something wrong, Sig rubbed his forehead.
