I can't trust anyone..." I finally spoke, but I then felt the presence of Jewel Shards causing me to let out a sigh.
"Are you here to kill me for trying to hurt you're precious Kagome?" I ask.
"How did you know it was me?" Koga questions as I glance over to him, walking towards me.
"Any closer and I'll kill you, Wolf-Boy," I warn, causing him to glare at me.
"Why do you serve Naraku?" Koga finally asks, causing me to scoff.
"I don't serve anyone. I'm repaying a debt to him. The only memories I have are of him saving me, nothing else. It's as if I'm scared to..." I answer, causing Koga to scoff.
"You don't strike me as the type to be scared of something," Koga states as he walks closer to me. I stared into his sapphire eyes.
"If you're here to kill me, just get it over with." I declare, causing his eyes to narrow at me.
"My nose doesn't lie... You and Kagome are related, so I won't take the chance of her hating me forever if I kill you." Koga insists, but then I began to hear shouting in the distance.
"Koga!" A man's voice calls out, causing me to finally look away from Koga, who put on an annoyed expression.
"Where are ya, Boss?!" Another man's voice rings out, causing Koga to scoff.
"Those idiots..." Koga trails off, causing me to glance over at him.
"Friends of yours?" I look down to see two guys dressed in the same attire as Koga standing at the bottom of the cliff, causing Koga to groan slightly.
"Yeah, I'd better go. See ya around, (Y/N)." Koga responds, and I sigh.
"Next time, I'll probably have to kill you." I point out, and Koga chuckles.
"I'd like to see you try," Koga remarks and then jumps off the cliff, causing me to sit down and stare back up at the moon. "I'll trust those memories for now, but I can't fully put my faith in Naraku or anyone... Not until I get back all my memories." I think, finally letting out a sigh and grabbing the hairpin in my hair. I go to turn it; however, I'm suddenly restrained by white, snake-like demons.
"W-what the hell?!" I exclaim as I look over to see a familiar-looking Priestess glaring at me. "Wait, isn't she the priestess I saw Naraku talking to through Kana's mirror. Wasn't her name... Kikyo." I think as she begins walking towards me.
"I warned you, (Y/N)," Kikyo states, causing me to put on a confused expression, but then serpents around me began to tighten their hold. "Damn it, I have to feign innocence or she's going to kill me!" I think as I put on a pleading expression.
"I-I don't know... What you're talking about, please!" I bellow as I felt the snake's grip suddenly loosen, and I look up to see Kikyo with a suspicious expression.
"Lies, I specifically warned you not to harm Inuyasha or I'd kill you!" Kikyo shouts, causing me to widen my eyes.
"I'm not lying, I clearly would have remembered that! Also, this is the first time I've ever met you, Priestess." I counter, causing her to stare at me for a moment, but then sigh.
"You're memories... Naraku took them from you, didn't he?" Kikyo asks as the serpents untangle themselves from me, and she goes to place a hand on my head. "Took my memories, what does she mean?" I wonder, but suddenly I felt a numerous amount of jewel shards appear behind me, causing me to push Kikyo away to see Naraku appear in front of me, but his back was turned.
"Naraku..." I trail off as I stare at him with disbelief. "I didn't even twirl the hair stick. Was he watching me?" I wonder, but Kikyo then chuckles.
"Now, I see," Kikyo says as her snake demons begin to surround her. She wore an amused expression, but she then turned to me.
"I now know who the Tree of Ages was referring to when she told you to change someone's fate, (Y/N). Unfortunately, I won't let it happen... Not while I'm alive." Kikyo declared as she then disappeared in a flash of white light. "The Tree of Ages? Change someone's fate? What the hell is that priestess talking about?!" I wonder, but suddenly my vision goes blurry.
"(Y/N)!" Naraku's voice rings out as I slip into darkness.
(Naraku's POV)
Picking up the now unconscious (Y/N) princess style, I felt anger rise inside of me. "My latest incarnations were supposed to kill Koga, Inuyasha's group, and this mortal... What was Kikyo going on about to (Y/N)? The Tree of Ages told (Y/N) to change someone's fate, but whose?" I wonder as I begin to make my way towards my castle through the air.
"I must find out..." I trail off as I stare down at the unconscious (Y/N)'s face.
(To (Y/N)'s POV)
"I need you to change someone's fate, for me." A familiar voice echoes, while a light begins to shine in the darkness.
"Why me and who are you?!" I exclaim, causing the warrior priestess I've seen before to appear in front of me.
"I told you before, we are of one soul. You are the Fate-Twister; only you can change the future." The warrior priestess's information caused me to put on a confused expression.
"I don't even know what that means!" I bellow, but she then chuckles.
"Even without knowing you will succeed, I know it..." The warrior priestess trails off as I begin to feel my chest pulsate.
(To Kikyo)
"Naraku, I know you're out there," Kikyo calls out as she glares into the forest.
"Hmm. Sharp as usual, Kikyo." Naraku states without revealing himself.
"How could I not notice you? So, have you come to inquire about what I told (Y/N)? You seem to be quite interested in her." Kikyo declares.
"Huh?" Naraku's sounds cause Kikyo to laugh.
"Something amuses you?" Naraku asks.
"Come now. It's obvious that the reason you're so interested in her, Naraku, is because... You still have Onigumo's heart beating strongly within you." Kikyo answers, causing the tree in which Naraku was sitting in to rustle, while the wind blew towards Kikyo. Once the wind was gone, Kikyo looked up at the tree with a smirk.
"Huh. Now he's gone. As if I'd tell him the fate (Y/N) supposed to change is his own." Kikyo scoffs as she walks away.
(To Naraku)
(Naraku's POV)
I was staring down at (Y/N), who was lying in her bed as she was still unconscious, but I then smirked. I could finish a woman like that off anytime I want to, but this mortal is different... Maybe the reason I can't is because the heart of Onigumo still beats within me, and he coveted love above all things in this world." I think as I look over at the palm of my hand.
"Onigumo's heart... Such a shallow, evil, criminal man. He was unable to move, and yet yearned for Kikyo to such a degree that he offered his body up to a host of demons, to be reborn as myself." I think as I stand up from where I was sitting.
"It's that fool of a mortal's heart which aches for love, and it has begun to affect me." I think, as I then chuckle with a smirk.
"Nonsense!" I think as I take one last glance at (Y/N) before I walk out of the room with a determined expression.
"You greatly underestimate me, Kikyo, for I, Naraku, am nothing like Onigumo," I state as I make my way to my room. "Now that the Sacred Jewel is nearly restored to its glory, I find Onigumo's heart useless and rather unnecessary." I think as the Sacred Jewel appears in my hand, it starts to glow.
(To Kikyo)
"Inu-yasha." Kikyo stuttered after another soul absorbed into her body as she rested against the Sacred Tree.
"What are you... What are you doing here?" Kikyo asks.
"That's what I was going to ask you. Why did you come here?" Inuyasha questions.
"That demon was chasing me," Kikyo responds.
"And you led him here knowing that I would rescue you." Inuyasha assumes.
"Don't be a fool, Inuyasha. I was running blindly for my life when I happened to come upon you." Kikyo insists.
"Kikyo... Over 50 years." Inuyasha says as he stares up at the Sacred Tree.
"What's that? What are you thinking, Inuyasha?" Kikyo asks, glaring at him.
"I was thinking how we really haven't changed that much, considering 50 years have passed," Inuyasha answers as he looks over at her.
"Don't talk nonsense. I've changed a lot. Since that time, long ago, when I sealed you to this tree we're under." Kikyo states.
"It was because of Naraku's deceptions that we hated each other. So much that you trapped me here for 50 years, and then you died... Kikyo, be honest. Have I changed?" Inuyasha's questions cause them both to stare at each other in silence.
"Before I knew of Naraku's existence, there was no doubt that I burned with resentment over what you'd done to me, but then you told me that my life was yours, and yours is mine." Inuyasha declares, causing Kikyo's eyes to widen, but she then smirks.
"It seems you're not so different from Naraku after all." Kikyo proclaims.
"You're saying I'm the same as Naraku?!" Inuyasha exclaims.
"Deep within Naraku, Onigumo's heart beats and still yearns for my touch." Kikyo addressed.
"Onigumo's heart?" Inuyasha asks.
"He desired me, and having me kill you with my own two hands was something that he dreamed about. It was something that the jealous heart of Onigumo schemed for." Kikyo answers.
"He was jealous over something so ridiculous?" Inuyasha questions.
"Yes, ridiculous, but that's what Mortals are," Kikyo responds, causing Inuyasha to go silent for a moment.
"Wait. Kikyo, does Naraku have feelings for you, too, now?" Inuyasha asks, causing Kikyo to chuckle and shake her head slightly.
"He is reluctant to admit it, but I am certain that he had a lingering desire for me. However, thanks to (Y/N)'s appearance, it appears that feeling is no longer for me, but for her, and in an effort to erase that feeling, he thought trying to get rid of me was the answer." Kikyo answers as another soul is absorbed into her body, and she begins to stand.
"You're saying he's in love with..." Inuyasha trails, but Kikyo turns away from him.
"Enough talk, Inuyasha. These souls have fully rejuvenated me." Kikyo informs, while she glances over at him.
"Kikyo, you aren't actually planning to use (Y/N) to confront Naraku, are you? She won't help you, I mean, she didn't even listen to Kagome, her own cousin, and you're not even strong enough... I can't believe that he was once in love with you. It's too much to bear!" Inuyasha bellows.
(To Naraku)
(Naraku's POV)
I was standing in the middle of my room with a sword in my hand. "Envy, a mortal emotion leaking from the heart of that simpering fool Onigumo." I thought as I felt the spider mark appear on my back. "I, Naraku, yearning for a mortal woman..." I think as I stare down at the sword in my hand.
"Never," I whisper as I place the sword behind me and begin to slice the spider mark off my back.
(To (Y/N) )
( (Y/N)'s POV)
My eyes flutter open as I sit up, but suddenly I feel a Jewel Shard drawing closer, causing me to sit up and see Kohaku enter my room.
"(Y/N), you're finally awake!" Kohaku chirps with a smile, causing me to put on a confused expression.
"Finally? How long have I been sleeping?" I ask as he walks over to me.
"2 whole days, I was so worried..." Kohaku trails off, but then my stomach roars out, causing me to tense up.
"I'll bring you some food right away!" Kohaku bellows as he rushes out of the room, and I look over at the window. "I don't know what that Priestess was going on about or why I'm suddenly able to detect Jewel Shard... However, I think there's obviously a connection between the Jewel Shards, that Priestess, and me." I think as I get up and begin changing into another kimono, since this one is drenched in sweat, thanks to my sleeping in it for 2 days straight.
"(Y/N), may I come in?" Kohaku's voice sounds out, pulling me from my thoughts as I sit down at the table in my room.
"Yeah, come on in," I call out, causing him to walk in with a tray filled with food. "I get I was unconscious for two days, but isn't this too much food?" I wonder as my stomach sounds out once again, causing my face to turn red.
"Glad I got you as much as I did." Kohaku smiles as he places the food in front of me.
"Y-yeah." I stutter, but then begin to eat as I curse my stomach.
"I think Master Naraku was also worried." Kohaku proclaims, causing me to nearly choke on my food as I glance over at him.
"What makes you think that?" I question, causing Kohaku to turn away from me and over to the door.
"During these past two days, every time I came to check on you, I'd find him sitting beside the window staring at you," Kohaku responds, causing my eyes to widen. "Naraku did... Why would he? I mean, didn't he try to kill me using Juromaru and Kageromaru?" I wonder as I stare down at my food in disbelief. Suddenly, I stood up and began to walk out of the room.
"(Y/N)!" Kohaku calls out as I glance over to him, rush out of the room with a worried expression.
"I'm sorry if I said something to upset you," Kohaku states, but I shake my head.
"No, you didn't... I'm gonna go take a walk." I declare as I go to turn away.
"But-"
"Don't worry, Kohaku. I just need to clear my head, I promise." I insist as I interrupt Kohaku and begin walking. Looking around, while I was walking, didn't help the endless questions and thoughts running around inside my head, not until I found myself at Naraku's secret flower guardian. "Why did I come here of all places?" I wonder as I bend down to the pond and place my hand into it.
"Are you really trying to kill me?" I wonder as I pull out my hair stick from my Kimono and stare at it. "The flower, it came from this garden-" My thoughts were interrupted when a familiar voice rang out from above me.
"This is idiotic..." Kagura trails off as she and Kanna are in one of her feathers flying towards the Castle barrier. "Where are they going?" I wonder as I stand up and place my hair stick into my kimono.
"I don't care, right now I should just go ask him directly instead of suspecting something that might not even be true." I insist as I begin walking towards Naraku's room. Suddenly, everything began to look funny around me. "Why does everything look fuzzy?" I wonder, causing me to quicken my pace, but then it looked as if the walls were disappearing.
"Miss (Y/N), where are you!?" I hear Kohaku shout, causing me to turn in the direction, but I couldn't see him.
"KOHAKU, I'M HERE!" I call out as I rush over towards the door and slide open what remains of it, but I then see Kohaku collapsed on the ground.
"Kohaku!" I shout as I go to rush over to him. What's going on-" My thoughts were interrupted as I fell to the ground and my vision began to get blurry.
"I no longer need you." Naraku's voice rings out, causing my eyes to widen causing me to clench my fists.
"Naraku..." I trail off as I then fall out of consciousness.
