I could hear the sounds of Inuyasha's battle ring out, which wasn't helping my concentration at all, causing me to shake my head and try to block it out. "I have to focus." I think as I then start to feel spiritual energy begin to surround me, but then Inuyasha sounds out in pain.
"Inuyasha!" Miroku calls out, causing me to lose focus once more, but that wasn't the only thing. Tsubaki's laugh once again sounded out, causing anger to rise within me. Opening my eyes, I turn over and glare at Tsubaki. "This won't work if I don't concentrate." I think as I clench my fists.
"Now do you understand? Your measures are all in vain. Surrender and find a new home inside my Demon's belly." Tsubaki demands, causing me to look over to see Inuyasha with a slash in his stomach.
"So what if I can't use the Tessaiga. I only need one arm to take out that repulsive demon!" Inuyasha proclaims as he holds up his hand that was drenched in his own blood.
"Hold your tongue!" Tsubaki declares, causing the demon fox to jump towards Inuyasha, who then dodges by jumping upwards.
"Blades of blood!" Inuyasha shouts, causing red blades to rush towards the demon, cutting its eyes, and it growls out in pain. Looking over, I see Tsubaki with a look of disdain as I hear Inuyasha chuckle.
"Don't be so sure of yourself." Tsubaki insists as she then clenches the jewel in her hand, causing Kagome to groan in pain, making me look down to see her neck glowing black. "Damn it!" I think as Songo and Miroku look over at Kagome's whose head is lying in my lap.
"Kagome!" Songo calls out with a worried expression. "No, more getting distracted, I have to save Kagome!" I think as I shut my eyes, trying to block out everything else and hold my hands above Kagome's neck.
"Kagome!" Inuyasha calls out Look over, but then quickly turns back to Tsubaki.
"Why you-"
"Do not forget, Inuyasha. I hold Kagome's very life in my hand." Tsubaki reminds Inuyasha, causing him to growl at her. However, the Demon fox's eye suddenly heals as it gets back up on its feet, causing it to roar.
"Are you all right? Are you in pain, Kagome?" Songo asks, causing Kagome to open her eyes.
"Yeah, but I'm fine, Sango. Don't worry about me." Kagome answers, but then groans once again.
"Stop acting strong..." I trail off, but keep my eyes shut, causing Songo to look over at Miroku.
"Come on, Miroku. We have to help Inuyasha. Kagome won't be able to last for very long." Songo points out.
"Hold on. I figure Tsubaki intends to kill Kagome whether Inuyasha wins or loses this battle." Miroku informs.
"You mean-"
"Right. Our only hope is to find a way to break Tsubaki's curse." Miroku declares as he interrupts Songo, and I nod.
"You're pretty smart, Monk." I finally speak, causing Miroku to look over at me, but I don't dare open my eyes.
"Is that what you're trying to do right now, (Y/N)?" Miroku asks, and I nod.
"I'm trying..." I trail off as I go back to trying to concentrate.
"Well then, while you're trying your way, we'll try to destroy Tsubaki or kill Shikigami, her demon puppet." Miroku asserted.
"I'll leave it to you two then." I agreed. "I should be able to concentrate better this way." I think that as both Miroku and Songo stand up.
"Wait a minute. Remember, just before Kagome fell ill, she said she'd been bitten at the well." Songo reminds.
"Exactly. It was more than likely that Demon serpent. I'm almost sure of it." Miroku assured as he glared at Tsubaki.
"Back me up, Sango!" Miroku bellows as he then begins rushing towards Tsubaki.
"You can count on it!" Songo shouts as she readies herself.
"Hiraikotsu!" Songo calls out as she throws her weapon towards Tsubaki, causing the Demon Fox to get in front of it and smack it away. While distracted, Miroku throws sutras towards Tsubaki, causing her to turn towards him and smacking them away. With an angry expression, Tsubaki's Serpent growls as its eyes glow red, causing the Sutras to burn up.
"Fool! My curse cannot be broken!" Tsubaki proclaims as the Demon Fox rushes towards Miroku and goes to attack him.
"Oh, no!" Miroku screams out as the demon's claws rush towards him.
"Miroku!" Inuyasha yells as he rushes over and grabs Miroku before the Demon Fox can crush him.
"You seem to enjoy pain. Just remember, the longer you resist me, the longer her suffering will be prolonged." Tsubaki informs, causing me to grit my teeth, but I keep my eyes closed. "Damn it, why is this so much harder than shooting a bow and arrow with Spiritual power?" I wonder as I could hear Kagome's breathless groans sound out.
"It would be so easy to end. Shall I send Kagome to her demise this very instant?" Tsubaki questions, but then closes her hand on the sacred jewel, causing the dark feeling I felt to intensify.
"Aah!" Kagome sounds out, causing Songo to rush over.
"Kagome! You've got to be strong!" Songo calls out as she bends down to her, while I feel Kagome's head fall to the side on my lap.
"Kagome! Say something!" Songo calls out, but then finally I open my eyes, feeling my Spiritual Powers emanating from my hands.
"It's okay, everything's going to be okay now." I insist, causing Songo to put on a confused expression as I place my hands on the dark Sacred Jewel shards in Kagome's neck.
"(Y/N), what are you-"
"Is that Spiritual Power?!" Miroku exclaims, and I nod, but don't dare look away as I begin to fight against the dark energy imbued in the shards. "Damn, this is intense..." I think as I begin pushing more Spiritual Energy into the shards, causing Kagome to groan out.
"Come on. Hang in there, Kagome." Songo pleads, but I keep my focus on trying to purify the shards.
"In... Inuyasha!" Kagome calls out as I begin to feel the dark energy dissipating, causing Kagome's eyes to open suddenly.
"Inuyasha!" Kagome calls out as she sits up to see Inuyasha still fighting the demon.
"Wait-"
"Inuyasha!" Kagome calls out, while interrupting me as she fires an arrow towards the demon, but it barely misses it. However, the arrow then turns in the air and heads towards Tsubaki.
"What?" Tsubaki questions as the arrow barely misses her. "Holy shit, the arrow redirected." I think as I look over to see Kagome panting.
"Wench! Why are you still able to move?!" Tsubaki exclaims, causing Kagome to glare at her.
"Well, I can. Maybe you're not concentrating hard enough." Kagome counters as I let out a sigh.
"Huh! Well, you've certainly managed to endure my spell. So it would seem that you truly are Kikyo's reincarnation after all. Although... If you actually were the real Kikyo, that arrow most certainly wouldn't have missed me, meaning you an imitation Kikyo." Tsubaki hypothesizes causing my eyes to widen. "Kagome is Kikyo's reincarnation... No wonder they looked similar." I think, but Kagome makes an enraged expression.
"You'll regret that. I am Kagome! I'm not anyone else!" Kagome proclaims as she shoots another arrow, and it lands right in front of Tsubaki.
"Hmm," Tsubaki smirks.
(To Kikyo)
She was standing on the cliff staring over at Tsubaki's little shrine. "I've taught you all I can for now." Kikyo insists as she then turns and walks away.
(To (Y/N) )
"You are foolish, rushing to your death," Tsubaki states as her Serpent holds its head above the Sacred Jewel, causing Tsubaki to grab its neck and squeeze it, allowing its venom to fall onto the Sacred Jewel. Begin to groan, I see the dark light shine from the Jewel fragments in Kagome's neck once again.
"Kagome!" Songo and I chorus as Kagome falls to the ground, grabbing her neck.
"Kagome!" Inuyasha calls out, causing the Demon Fox to jump towards us.
"Ahh!" Songo sounds out, causing me to go grab for my sword. "Damn it, I keep forgetting I don't have it anymore!" I think as I then feel Songo grab my arm.
"KAGOME!" Inuyasha shouts as he rushes over, picking up Kagome, and we all move out of the way of the Demon Fox just in time. Looking over, I see Inuyasha holding Kagome, while bending down to the ground, as I let out a sigh of relief.
"I've had enough of you two!" Tsubaki's bellows caused the Demon Fox to rush towards them
"I'll never let you kill her!" Inuyasha declares as he jumps towards the Demon Fox.
"You'd better stay out of my way! Iron Reaper Soul Stealer!" Inuyasha yells as he completely slices through the Demon Fox and heads straight towards Tsubaki.
"This is the end, Tsubaki!" Inuyasha proclaims as he slashes off Tsubaki's serpent's head, causing her to gasp.
"Well done, Inuyasha!" Miroku calls out as he rushes over and lashes the bottom of his staff into the Serpent's cut-off head, causing it to dissipate into white smoke.
"One down." Miroku addresses me as I begin to get a bad feeling.
"Sorry about your Serpent, Tsubaki," Inuyasha remarks as he stands up, causing her to laugh.
"You're naïve. Do you honestly think the curse has been broken?" Tsubaki asks with a confident grin.
"What?" Inuyasha questions as he glares at her.
"The spell still holds, you fool," Tsubaki responds as I look down to see the jewel shards still in her neck. "I knew it, to break the curse, I have to completely purify the shards." I think as I grit my teeth.
"Huh?" Inuyasha and Miroku chorus as they look over at us to see Kagome breathing hard.
"Kagome will die. Oh, yes. And the rest of you." Tsubaki made known that the scar over her eye appears, but then a bright light begins to shine from it.
"Huh?" Inuyasha sounds as if I feel a load of demonic presences causing me to look up at Inuyasha.
"Move away from her!" I demand, causing Inuyasha to jump away as a swarm of demons emerges from Tsubaki's eye.
"She had more Demons inside her!" Miroku proclaims that Demons keep emerging from Tsubaki's eye till the sky is covered with Demons.
"Damn that witch to hell!" Inuyasha curses as he begins to fight the demons with only his claws.
"Songo, I'm gonna try again," I inform, causing her to nod and stand up, but she then turns to Kirara.
"Kirara, stay here and protect (Y/N) and Kagome," Songo instructs, causing me to look down at Kagome with a worried expression.
"Alright, Kagome, don't go acting tough even if you feel better, just let me purify the shards completely this time, okay?" I request, causing Kagome to put on a confused expression as she slightly opened her eyes. Forcing the Spiritual Power to resurface, I place my hand on her neck, causing Kagome's eyes to widen.
"Hiraikotsu!" Songo bellows as she throws her weapon, taking out the demons that were closing in. As Songo, Miroku, and Inuyasha were fighting the demons, I focused all my attention on trying to purify the shards. "The dark aura is so intense, but I can't quite... All I have to do is purify these shards, and it'll all be over." I think as I begin to feel exhaustion sinking in.
"Ugh, Damn it! The Demons were just a diversion!" Inuyasha shouts as he looks over towards us, but I'm too focused to look away or stop.
"Correct, but now it's far too late! Shikigami! Bite off that woman's head and take the Sacred Jewel Shard from her!" Tsubaki's demands, caused me to shake my head. "No, I can't lose focus!" I think as I continue to focus on the shards.
"(Y/N), Kagome!" Songo and Miroku chorus.
"Kagome!" Inuyasha screams as he rushes towards us, but Kagome then opens her eyes once more and looks over to see the Serpent rushing towards us, causing her to glare. "Damn it, I have to completely purify them!" I think as I gather up the last of my energy and force out more Spiritual Power.
"Not this time, Scaly!" Kagome declares as she sits up.
"Kagome-"
"You bit me by the well. You won't get me again!" Kagome interrupts me as I see her bow begin to glow.
"No chance! This time... Victory is mine!" Kagome proclaims as the Serpent goes to attack her, but Kagome forces it backwards with her bow, causing the Serpent to fly back towards Tsubaki.
"Oh, no!" Tsubaki yells, but then screams as the Serpent enters her eye.
"She threw the serpent at her!" Miroku made known, but I quickly sent out the last of the Spiritual Energy I had left and sent it into the shards in Kagome's neck.
"PURIFY, DAMN IT!" I bellow, causing a bright light to envelope us, and the Jewel Tsubaki that was now on the ground in front of her.
"The shards have come out!" Songo calls out as I start to breathe heavily, thanks to using up all my energy.
"It can't be! Why you-" Tsubaki cursed as she grabbed the Sacred Jewel, while the rest of her demons surrounded her and started lifting her into the air.
"She's getting away!" Miroku points out.
"Not from me!" Inuyasha proclaims as he draws his sword.
"I'm not finished with you yet!" Inuyasha adds as he unleashes the Wind Scare towards Tsubaki, causing the demons around her to start being vaporized.
"No! No!" Tsubaki cries out, but manages to get away with two remaining Demons.
"Damn! She got away." Inuyasha insists as he rushes towards us, as I rest against Kirara. "I did it..." I think as I let out a sigh, while seeing Kagome in Inuyasha's arms, but I felt my eyes grow heavy, and I couldn't stop them from closing.
(Third Person)
"Kagome!" Inuyasha calls out, causing Kagome to groan, but she looks up at him.
"Inu... Yasha." Kagome stutters, but then looks over at (Y/N).
"She saved me..." Kagome trails off, causing everyone to look over at (Y/N), who is leaning up against Kirara, asleep.
"But how?" Inuyasha asks, causing Songo to look over at him.
"Somehow, she's able to use Spiritual Power like Kagome," Songo answers, and Miroku nods.
"She was traveling with Kikyo, so maybe... Kikyo taught her how to use it." Miroku suggests, but Inuyasha shakes his head.
"Only a selected few can use Spiritual Power; it isn't something just anyone can learn." Inuyasha points out.
(To Naraku)
(Naraku's POV)
"So, is that it? You intend to let her leave with your Sacred Jewel?" Kagura asks, glancing over at me.
"Of course not. I'll soon get it back. Besides..." I trail off.
"Besides, what?" Kagura questions.
"I must give the Dark Priestess the opportunity to seek her revenge," I respond as I look over at the mirror to see (Y/N) with Inuyasha's group.
"How very kind and considerate of you." Kagura's remarks caused me to put on a distasteful smirk.
"Hmm." I sound as I glare over at the mirror. "You travel with Kikyo, and suddenly you're able to use Spiritual Power, but not everyone can use it... So, just who are you really, (Y/N)?" I wonder as I felt anger mixed with curiosity rise within me.
(To Tsubaki)
She watched as the two demons who helped her escape skin began to disintegrate, causing her to look down at the Shikon Jewel deep in thought.
"Who was that girl...? She was able to purify the Shikon Jewel and free Kagome from my curse." Tsubaki points out, but then grips the Sacred Jewel in her hand.
"No matter, I'll simply kill her. Along with Inuyasha and Kagome!" Tsubaki proclaims as she puts on an angry expression, and the scar over her eye appears.
(To (Y/N) )
(Third Person)
"Kagome and (Y/N) must be so tired." Songo insists as she was glancing back at (Y/N), who was riding on Kirara fast asleep.
"You can't blame them. Kagome was under a spell for so long, and (Y/N) used up all her energy to break it." Miroku points out.
"Inuyasha! Kagome! Over here!" Shippo calls out with a laugh as he rushes over to them.
"I'm sorry, Kagome. This only happened because you're with me." Inuyasha states with a melancholy expression.
"It's all right." Kagome declared as she was riding on his back.
"Huh?" Inuyasha sounds as he glances back at her.
"I'm with you by choice and thanks to (Y/N) I can continue to be." Kagome points out as she smiles.
"Wait, is that (Y/N)?!" Shippo exclaims, causing Songo and Miroku to turn to him with a nod.
"Oh, thank goodness... I thought-"
"I told you, didn't I, Shippo? There's no way she was gonna die so easily," Inuyasha points out as tears begin to form in Shippo's eyes.
(Time Skip)
(To (Y/N)'s POV)
I began to hear a bunch of commotion, causing me to open my eyes to see everyone looking at Kagome.
"Look, I'm all right, everyone. I'm just fine!" Kagome chirps, but then looks over at me.
"(Y/N), you're awake." Kagome smiles, and I nod, but then the little demon jumps into my arms.
"I'm so glad you're not dead!" The little Demon cries out, causing me to look down at him.
"Dead?" I ask. "What was this little guy's name again?" I wonder as he nods.
"We found these at Naraku's castle after it disappeared." Kagome's voice rings out, causing me to look over to see two items in Kagome's hands. As soon as I laid my eyes on the kimonos and sword I received from Naraku, all the things I've done to this group and Kagome came flooding back and rushing through my head like a slide show.
"Throw them away!" I demand as I stand up and rush out of the hut. As I heard everyone call out to me, it only made my legs run faster and the tears fall down my face. "I did all those things because of Naraku!" I think as I finally stop running only to see I was in front of what looked like The Sacred Tree.
"No... It was all me, no matter if I had memories or not." I confess as I walk up to The Sacred Tree and place my hand to it.
