Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Wind Sorceress

It's been a week since Naraku sent me and Kohaku, whom he appointed as my Personnel Guard, out to collect the Jewel Shard during that time. We managed to get our hands on 3 of them and have finally made our way back to the castle.

"We're back..." Kohaku sighs, and I nod.

"Welcome back, you two." A voice welcomes, causing us to look over to see Naraku walking towards us.

"I shall excuse myself," Kohaku states as he begins walking away, but I stare at Naraku, and he looks back over at me for a moment. "Now that I get a good look at him, he's extremely handsome compared to the Demons I was fighting during this week." I think, but then shake my head and clear my throat.

"Sorry, here you are." I declare as I place the Jewel Shards into the palm of his hand, creating a thick silence for a moment.

"Good work." Naraku's compliment caused me to look up at him with a surprised expression. "Did he just compliment me?" I wonder as I then smile.

"Thank you." I thank him, but then he quickly turns away from me.

"Walk with me?" Naraku requests, causing my eyes to widen, but I then rush over to his side with a nod.

(Naraku's POV)

"How was the journey?" I ask, finally breaking the silence, causing (Y/N) to turn to me.

"It was pretty fun, but at times it was scary thanks to the ugly-looking demons we had to fight to get the Jewel Shards," (Y/N) answers as we continued walking. "I already knew how her journey went... I couldn't get this mortal out of my head, so I had a Saimyōshō tailing them." I think as I grit my teeth.

"These flowers are beautiful!" (Y/N) chirps, causing me to be pulled from my thoughts to see we were in my secret garden and she was smiling at my purple flowers.

"They are, aren't they?" I question as I stared at them.

( (Y/N)'s POV)

"This is the first time I've seen such an expression on his face; it's almost peaceful." I think, while Naraku was staring at the flowers.

"Is there a special purpose for these flowers?" I ask, causing Naraku to straighten up and clear his throat.

"No, I just seem to tolerate them," Naraku explains with a slight coldness to his voice, while he bends down to the ground. "He's obviously hiding his true feelings..." I think as I let out a slight chuckle. Suddenly, I feel something placed on my ear, causing me to be pulled out of my thoughts to see Naraku in front of me with a softer expression than his normal one.

"It suits you," Naraku whispers, causing me to stare up at him, but he then clears his throat.

"We'll have dinner together later." Naraku proclaims as he then walks away, leaving me dumbfounded. "What suits me?" I wonder as I bring my hand up to my ear to feel what I assumed to be a flower, causing my face to grow red.

(Time Skip)

Every day while Kohaku and I were gone, we had sparring matches with each other and so we decided to have one in the courtyard.

"I'm coming at you, Kohaku!" I call out as I rush towards him with the sword Naraku entrusted to me. "You're knife is handy, but this should be more useful to master." Naraku's voice rang through my head as Kohaku dodged my advance.

"You should remain focused (Y/N)." Kohaku advises as he throws his Kusarigama towards me, causing me to do a back handspring, and I smirk.

"Oh yeah?" I question as I rush towards him and go to slash at him, but he draws his own sword, causing us to clash.

"Always quick to rush in..." Kohaku trails off as he pulls his Kusarigama by its chain, trying to hit me from behind, and I grin.

"You always think that's gonna work on me." I point out as I jump up, but instead of grabbing his Kusarigama, he swings it towards me, and the back of it hits me in the back, causing me to fall towards the ground. I shut my eyes to prepare for the impact.

"(Y/N)!" I hear Kohaku call out, causing me to open my eyes to see white fluffy stuff around me.

"So you're the girl I've heard so much about." A woman's voice rings out, causing me to look over to see a woman with red eyes and black hair in a kimono begin walking over to me.

"W-Who, are you?" I ask breathlessly, thanks to the force behind Kohaku's weapon, while I slowly lift to see I'm in a huge feather.

"Kagura, shouldn't you have left by now?" A voice rings out, causing me to look over to see Naraku standing a few feet away.

"I guess next time I should just let her hit the ground," Kagura states as the feather shrinks, while setting me lightly on the ground and flying over to her hand, causing Naraku to glare over at her.

"Fine, I'll be on my way then." Kagura declares as she rolls her eyes and is lifted into her feather, and begins to fly away.

"(Y/N)..." Naraku trails off, causing me to turn to see him bend down to me.

"Who was she?" I ask as Naraku picks me up princess style.

"She is the Wind Sorceress Kagura, and she will be serving me from now on," Naraku answers as he begins walking when Kohaku rushes over to me with a worried expression.

"I'm sorry, (Y/N)." Kohaku apologizes as he bows, but I pat his head with a smile, causing him to look up at me.

"You apologize too much, Kohaku. It just means I need more training and that you've improved a lot." I complimented, but then Naraku cleared his throat, causing Kohaku to step out of the way and begin to carry me away. "I know I told him it would be good to have other people here, but that Kagura woman... was really pretty." I think as I stare up at him.

"What is it?" Naraku finally asks as he glances over to me, causing me to turn away from him as we walk into my room.

"What did you mean by Kagura is serving you...?" I ask, but then quickly throw my hands over my mouth as my face begins to become red, while he sets me down on my futon with a thoughtful expression. "I can't believe I just asked him that?!" I think as I put my hands over my face.

"By helping me fight my enemies as well as collect the Jewel Shards." Naraku answers, causing me to pull my hands down from my face with a confused expression.

"So me Kohaku and I aren't cutting it?" I question, causing Naraku to put on a slightly confused expression.

"No, I never said that... Now stay here and rest." Naraku responds, causing me to look over to see him walking out of the room. "Why would he need more help when he has me and Kohaku? Unless we aren't good enough..." I think, as I feel my chest hurt slightly.

(To Kagura)

Walking through the fake Castle halls, she turns towards a room.

"You sent me here so you can watch from a distance. Letting me do the dirty work? Well, that makes things easier for me in the long run." Kagura states as she moves the curtain out of the way with her fan.

"The sacred jewel shards make demons even stronger, don't they? What an utterly enticing overt." Kagura declares as she walks over to the Sacred Jewel, which was on a table in the middle of the room.

"You're planning to lure them here with this?" Kagura asks as she goes to touch it, but is repelled by the barrier that was placed around it.

"But why? You can concur them without all this... I don't know if you're being extra careful or if you're being cowardly...? Or does it have to do with that girl I saw before coming here? Which is it, my master?" Kagura questions as she unfolds her fan in front of her face.

(Naraku's POV)

I make my way down the stairs and to the basement, and over to a giant urn of flesh. "She was the one who gave me this idea... So why did she seem angry?!" I wonder as I stare at the urn.

"I don't have time to think about this. I need to keep a close watch on Kagura..." I trail off as I look down at the heart beating in my hand.

(To Kagura)

Who are you?" The Monk asks as he and the demon slayer rush into the room.

"You want a formal introduction?" Kagura questions as she turns to them.

"Good evening, my names Kagura. You must be Songo, and you're Miroku, am I right?" Kagura asks, causing Miroku to grab his staff with both hands.

"Yes, and you are one of Naraku's minions. Tell us where he is!" Miroku demands.

"He's not in right now, but he left you a little something to keep you entertained. Naraku hopes you will find his little gift amusing." Kagura states as something pops out of thin air onto the ground.

"Demon puppet!" Miroku bellows.

"Now then, if you'll excuse me. I'm off to see the outdoor entertainment... Koga and Inuyasha. Hmm, neither of them takes my fancy, so I don't care which of them wins the duel." Kagura explains as she then disappears, causing the puppet to activate.

(To (Y/N) POV)

"(Y/N)?" Kohaku's voice rang out as he walked into my room to see that I was still sitting in my futon.

"Oh, Kohaku. What is it?" I ask as if he brought me out of a trance, but he put on a worried expression.

"Can I bring you anything to eat or drink?" Kohaku asks, but I then look down at my blanket.

"Thanks, but I think I just need to be by myself for now," I answer, causing Kohaku to nod as he stands up.

"Let me know if you need anything." Kohaku reminds me as he then walks out of my room, and I let out a sigh as I lie back in my Futon staring up at the ceiling.

(To Kagura)

She was walking outside of the fake castle and over towards the Demon Wolf Tribe leader, who turned towards her.

"Name yourself!" The Wolf demands, causing Kagura to stop.

"Well done, Wolf-boy. With the score settled, you're able to die without any regrets." Kagura states.

"What do you want from me?" The Wolf asks.

"My name is Kagura. I will see that you have won the final dance." Kagura answers as she holds up her fan, and once she opens it, all the scattered wolf demon bodies begin to rise.

"What's the meaning of this? My men were all dead. Why do they rise again?" The wolf questions as he looks around.

"To attend you're final dance, it would kill them to miss it." Kagura jibes, causing Koga to glare up at her.

"You Sorceress... Was it you then, who slaughtered my friends?" The Wolf asks.

"I wonder, it slipped my mind..." Kagura trails off as she holds her fan up and points it towards the Wolf, causing all the Wolf demon bodies to fly towards him, while screaming. However, the wolf jumps up and dodges them as he begins punching the ones getting in his way.

"I'll kill you, Sorceress!" The wolf shouts as he rushes towards Kagura, but suddenly stops and bends down to the ground as his wound on his arm glows, which causes Kagura to chuckle with her fan in front of her face.

"The Jewel Shard in your arm is finally releasing its poison. Now it's time for you to die." Kagura proclaims as she waves her fan, causing blades of air to fly towards the Wolf, causing him to fall to the ground covered in injuries.

"You are unable to move. That Sacred Jewel in your arm is an imitation made from a crystalized poison in paralyzing Miasma. All that leaping around made your blood pump faster and sped up the spread of the poison." Kagura explained as she fanned herself.

"Wench!" The Wolf bellows.

"Now that you're paralyzed, I shall help myself to your true Jewel Shards." Kagura declares as she holds her fan out, but an arrow flies towards her. However, some of the remaining Wolf-bodied jump in front of it and incinerate.

"So that must be the sacred arrow... Are you perhaps the one related to that girl?" Kagura questions as she looks over to Kagome, who was standing on the roof with her bow drawn, with another arrow.

"Yes. Now where is (Y/N)!?" Kagome exclaims as she goes to shoot it, but Kagura waves her fan towards Kagome, causing blades of air to fly towards her.

"Kagome, are you hurt?" Shippo asks as he was on Kirara, who caught her before she fell off the roof.

"No, I think I'm okay," Kagome answers.

"Not very impressive. Unfortunately, that girl isn't here, and I also cannot allow you to continue interfering-" Kagura was interrupted by the sound of Inuyasha grabbing his sword.

"I won't let you hurt, Kagome. I'm the one you should be coming after, not her." Inuyasha states, while covered in wounds.

"Still alive, are we now? Wolf-boy, it appears you didn't complete the job." Kagura declares.

"Inuyasha." The Wolf whispers as he looks over at him.

"Huh, you're kidding yourself if you think that mangy, puny wolf cub could due me in with his meager attack." Inuyasha jibes.

"Oh, please, forgive me. Then you are up to a duel with me?" Kagura questions.

"I'll take you on, but I warn ya. You're not gonna die quickly... Tainting me with the blood of the Wolf Demons and setting that fool on me was unforgivable, but even more infuriating is the reek of Naraku that cloaks you." Inuyasha responds.

"Naraku?" The wolf asks.

"Just the thought of that beast and what he did to our friend is enough just to give me the strength to move my wounded body." Inuyasha makes known that his sword transforms, and he jumps towards Kagura, who counters with a blade of wind from her fan, forcing him back.

"I am the wind Sorceress, the wind in this castle is entirely under my control," Kagura informs as she begins to move her fan in a circle.

"Dance of the dragon." Kagura unleashes several strong gusts of wind that look like tornadoes to rush towards Inuyasha, causing him to dodge them, but she keeps sending out more. Dodging all her advances, Inuyasha jumps back and glares at her. Creating more cyclones, Kagura destroys the wind around Inuyasha, but then his eyes widen.

"If what she claims is true, then my wind is under her control..." Inuyasha trails off.

"Something's wrong with Inuyasha, his right arm isn't moving." Shippo points out as Kagome draws another arrow.

"I won't give up until you tell me exactly where (Y/N) is!" Kagome calls out as she shoots another arrow towards Kagura, but it lands in front of her.

"Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to do so, and you're aim is pathetic!" Kagura bellows, but the arrow begins to make Kagura's wind dissipate.

"Excellent, there is a way to create the wind scare then. Kagome, shoot me with you're arrow!" Inuyasha bellows, causing Kagome to loosen her grip on her arrow with a confused expression.

"Ask questions later, just hurry and shoot!" Inuyasha instructs.

"What are you thinking?! Inuyasha, you might think you're invincible, but if my arrow hits you, YOU COULD DIE!" Kagome declares with her bow drawn.

"I'll just have to trust in his judgement," Kagome whispers as she aims her arrow towards Inuyasha and fires it. The arrow barely misses him, causing the wind surrounding him to be destroyed.

"Just as I thought, the wind has disappeared." Inuyasha points out.

"Such a fool, I only need to create more!" Kagura shouts as she creates a gust of wind using her fan, but Inuyasha then swings towards it.

"Die!" Inuyasha yells as a rush of energy begins heading towards Kagura. However, before it's able to kill her, Kagura jumps up out of the Wind Scare. Grabbing a feather from her hair, she throws it, causing it to grow in size, allowing her to fly away.

(To (Y/N) )

"(Y/N), isn't my new baby brother cute?" The little girl I saw once before asks, and I nod.

"Yep, I wish I had one!" I answer as I look over to a woman with dark black hair, who is holding the baby.

"Would you like to hold him?" The woman asks, and my eyes widen.

"Yes, please!" I chirp, causing her to smile as she slowly and gently hands me the baby.

"Sota may be cute, but he's a handful." The little girl points out as I stare at his sleeping face. "I feel as if I have a strong connection with these people in strange attire, but who are they to me?" I wonder as I look over at the little girl, but I'm still unable to see her face. Suddenly, it's as if I blinked because I'm somewhere different, causing me to look around and see that I was in a moving car. Fear began to overwhelm me as if something bad was going to happen.

"No!" I shout as I sit up and look around to see I'm in my room, causing me to breathe heavily. "What is it that I don't want to remember and why?" I wonder as I stand up from my futon and walk over to my window and stare out at the purple sky I've grown accustomed to seeing. Suddenly, a feather like the one I was lying in before appears in the sky, causing my eyes to widen as I see Kagura. Without thinking, I stand up and begin rushing out of my room and into the castle's hall.

"Naraku!" Kagura's voice rings out, causing me to stop in my tracks. "She sounds mad..." I think as I begin to slowly make my way over towards where the voices were coming from.

"You audacious fool!" I hear Kagura bellow as I finally make it to Naraku's room, but I don't dare enter. "Are they fighting?" I wonder with a confused expression as it then goes silent causing me to slightly peer over into the room to see Kagura's back that was a few feet in front of me and also see Naraku, who was a more than a few feet in front of a her as I make out a spider-shaped burn mark on Naraku's back. "Why do I feel as if I already knew that was there?" I wonder as he begins to turn towards Kagura with his hand stretched, but my eyes widen as a red object begins to appear in his hand.

"That's-" Kagura was interrupted as Naraku began to squeeze his hand shut, causing her to cry out in pain and fall to her knees. "What is going on here?!" I wonder as I quickly put my hands over my mouth.

"Do not forget, Kagura. I hold you're heart right here in my very hands." Naraku reminds Kagura, and fear begins to envelope my body as I move backwards, hitting the wall.

"(Y/N)?" Naraku's voice rings out, causing me to look up at him in fear as he begins to walk towards me.

"Naraku, the despicable coward, who never sullies his own hands." A familiar voice rings through my head, causing me to run out of room as fast as I can. "I don't know why that girl's voice is sounding through my head, but... What could Kagura have done to receive such harsh punishment!?" I think as I rush through the halls of the castle. Suddenly, I trip and fall onto the floor and feel tears begin forming in my eyes. "Will he punish me like that for witnessing it?!" I wonder as I then feel something fall out of my hair, causing me to look down and see a purple flower.
