Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 Goshinki

I was staring out the window at the dark purple sky and let out a sigh, but then a sound came from behind me as I looked over to see a tray of food.

"Kohaku, I said I didn't-"

"You need to eat." I'm interrupted when I look up to see Naraku standing there, causing me to look away from him. "So he's finally come, huh? I think as I feel his eyes on me.

"What I need is some fresh air..." I trail off, but then I hear a scoff, causing me to glare over at him.

"I can't trust you won't run." Naraku points out, causing me to jump up to my feet.

"If I were gonna run, I would have already done it!" I bellow, causing Naraku to narrow his eyes at me.

"Kohaku," Naraku says, causing him to come into the room.

"Yes, master Naraku?" Kohaku asks lifelessly, which causes me to stiffen up.

"Accompany (Y/N) on a walk around the castle grounds." Naraku answers and then turns to me, but I shake my head.

"Turn Kohaku back now," I demand, causing Naraku to glare down at me.

"Are you giving me orders?" Naraku questions, trying to intimidate me.

"You're the one who made him my personal guard, so turn him back," I respond, causing us to both glare at each other for a moment. "You may have saved me, but that doesn't mean you can keep me in this room forever." I think, but then Naraku finally turns away from me.

"Lady (Y/N)?" Kohaku's voice rings out, causing me to rush over to him and embrace him.

"Don't leave the Castle." Naraku reminds me as he walks out of the room, causing me to let out a sigh.

"Um, you're smothering me." Kohaku points out, causing me to release him.

"Sorry about that. Now, how about that walk, huh?" I ask with a smile, and he nods. "Just getting out of that room is fine for now." I think as I grab Kohaku's hand and lead him out of the room.

(To Naraku's POV)

I was staring up at my newest incarnation that should finally help me get rid of Inuyasha for good.

"When Kagura gets back, you two will head to that Village and devour it. Kagura will lure Inuyasha's group there, and you'll kill them, understood?" I ask, and the Demon nods, causing me to turn my back to it. "I need to make sure (Y/N) hasn't left the castle... Damn it, why do I, Naraku, care so much?! I should have killed her when my hand was around her throat." I think as I walk through my castle, but then I balled my hand into a fist.

"I should have killed you the first time I laid eyes on you," I whisper as I make it to my room.

(To (Y/N)'s POV)

"I didn't mean to lash out like that, but it's been 2 days since I was brought back here, he didn't let me out of that stuffy room, kept Kohaku a puppet and finally comes to me after finding out I wouldn't eat-" My thoughts are interrupted when I trip causing me to shut my eyes preparing for the impact.

"Are you okay, (Y/N)?" Kohaku's voice asks, causing me to open my eyes to see that he caught me. I let out a sigh and then nod, but Kohaku's expression was still cloudy.

"Sorry for worrying you," I answer, which makes him look up with a confused expression. Suddenly, Kohaku drops to his knees and bows to me with a serious expression.

"Please let me bring you some food!" Kohaku pleads, causing my eyes to widen.

"K-Kohaku, you remember?" I question, but he shakes his head as he looks up at me.

"I can tell... You're skinnier." Kohaku points out, causing me to look down at the ground.

"Kohaku, can you please bring me something to eat?" I request, causing Kohaku to quickly get up and nod.

"Right away!" Kohaku chirps as he rushes away, causing me to chuckle. "I want to leave here and go give that group a piece of my mind. Especially Kagome and Songo, they lied and even tried to win me over with their fake affection!" I think, but then a chill runs down my spine.

"(Y/N)..." A voice trails off, causing me to turn in the direction of it. "Did someone just call me?" I wonder as I stare in that direction for a moment.

"Maybe I'm hearing things." I think as I turn away and go to walk away.

"(Y/N)." The same voice calls out, causing me to turn with a confused expression. "That can't be my imagination!" I think as I begin walking towards the voice.

"(Y/N)!" The voice grew louder and sounded more demonic, causing me to stop in my tracks for a moment. "I probably shouldn't be roaming around the castle... I mean, it is what got me in trouble last time." I think as I go to turn around, but red eyes that began glowing in the darkness, causing me to look over to see a giant demon in a cage.

"A mere mortal?" The demon asks, causing me to turn to it with confusion. "Why is it confusing that I'm human if it was the one that was calling me?" I wonder, but the demon chuckles.

"What's so funny?" I ask, and it smirks.

"He wanted to make sure you were still in the castle, but here you are standing in front of me." The demon's answer caused me to stare at him.

"By 'He,' are you referring to Naraku?" I question. "He wants to make sure I didn't leave... Why hasn't he just killed me?" I wonder, but the demon then nods.

"Naraku wants to kill you and yet claims to care about you... Quite perplexing if you ask me, huh, mortal?" The demon asks. "Cares about me... Naraku does?" I wonder as I put on a confused expression, as my eyes widen.

"Did you just-"

"Yes, I did, (Y/N)." The demon interrupts me with a toothy grin. "N-no, he can't possibly be able to read minds. This demon is probably just messing with me. I mean, he is a servant of Naraku after all." I think, but then Demon chuckles again.

"You think I'm messing with you, but I am more than just a servant. I am an incarnation of him, human." The demon insists.

"Incarnation?" I question with a confused expression, but then I hear someone clear their throat, causing me to look over and see Kagura.

"So this is where you are," Kagura states as she lets out a sigh.

"Were you searching for me?" I ask, but she then glares up at me.

"Kohaku was running around as I returned, saying you disappeared. You'd better go before he informs Naraku." Kagura answers. "Shit, I forgot I had asked Kohaku to get me something to eat thanks to this demon." I think, while nodding, and began walking away.

"(Y/n)." Kanna's ghostly voice echoed from behind me, causing me to turn to see her standing there.

"Hello, Kanna." I greet.

"Come." Kanna insists as she turns away and begins walking. "Where is she leading me?" I wonder as I follow after her. Finally, we come to a sliding door, causing Kanna to walk over and open it, allowing me to see Naraku sitting there with food in front of him and a tray of food across from him. "Kohaku must have informed him." I think as I look over to see Kohaku standing beside Kanna with a relieved expression.

(To Kagome)

She was helping Songo sit up while Miroku was bandaging up Inuyasha.

"I'd much rather be stroking Sango's delicate, pale skin," Miroku remarks and then lets out a sigh.

"Keep your distance." Songo threatens, causing him to tense up.

"Huh?" Inuyasha sounds as he sits up straight.

"What is it, Inuyasha?" Miroku asks with a concerned expression.

"The scent of a dead man," Inuyasha answers, causing everyone else to look over at him.

"A dead man?" Songo's questions cause Miroku to rush outside to see a man.

"A demon has come." The man informs, Inuyasha stands at the door, moving the blinds.

"It devoured the entire village." The man continued, causing Inuyasha to walk out as Kagome and Songo followed.

"Demon?" Kagome asks.

"On its back was the mark of the spider." The man answers, causing everyone to put on a knowing expression.

"Please help me, uh!" The man pleads, but then falls down limp, causing Kagome and Songo to flinch.

"Has that man been dead right from the beginning?" Kagome questions as the guy's body began to decay, while smoke escaped it.

"Kagura must have been controlling his body with her dance of the dead. It has to be a trap." Miroku states.

"Yeah, a trap set to force me to meet the third demon." Inuyasha declares.

"I'm worried about (Y/N), so I'd be all for it, but you're wounds are still far too serious." Kagome points out, causing Inuyasha to look over at her.

"I don't have a choice." Inuyasha insists.

"She sent the dead man to us, which means that Kagura knows where we're hiding." Songo addresses.

"Yes, and there will be no chance of fleeing," Miroku adds.

"I'll go after him! Huh! The demon was bound to attack us here sooner or later, and if (Y/N), there that's a plus. Inuyasha remarks, causing them all to put on a confused expression.

"What do you mean?" Songo asks, causing Inuyasha to glare over at her.

"There are a couple of questions I need answered from her," Inuyasha answers as he cracks his knuckles.

(To me)

I finally began to eat the food that was placed in front of me, but I began to feel eyes on me. "This is really freaking awkward... I mean, how do I strike up a conversation with him?" I wonder as he then clears his throat, causing me to glance over at him.

"You shouldn't skip meals anymore." Naraku insists, causing me to stare at him for a moment. "Who do you think I was trying to meet by doing that?!" I wonder as I glare at him, causing him to put on a slightly confused expression.

"Do you hate me that much?" Naraku asks, causing me to look away from him and stare down at the food.

"Why do you care? Hell, why am I even here?!" I exclaim as I stand up and glare down at him.

"What do you mean, (Y/N)?" Naraku questions as he stands up as well.

"I agreed to help you collect the shards after you saved me... So why should you care about me when you already have so many people helping you like you're incarnations?" I respond, causing his eyes to narrow at me.

"Because you're still useful," Naraku states, causing me to put on a confused expression.

"You keep saying that, but what use is there for me to just sit around in that room? I had to keep myself from eating just for you to come see me!" I shout, but then I quickly put my hands on my mouth, while Naraku stares at me with wide eyes.

"You-" Before Naraku could say anything else, I took off running to my room with my face bright red. "Why did I tell him that?!" I wonder as I make it to my room and over to the bed, curling myself up in it.

(To Kagura)

"It's just a few children. Let them go." Kagura insists, causing the demon to look over at her.

"Naraku commanded me to devour the entire village, so I will kill every last human and every single cow, chicken, and horse." The demon states.

"Hmm. Do as you wish. I can't bear your company any longer." Kagura declares as she walks away, causing the demon to turn and look over towards a building that was still intact. Walking over, he stood there for a moment, but then the demon punched the roof off the building and grabbed the stray out causing children's screams to sound out.

"He found us!" The little girl cried as she hugged her brother.

"You thought you could escape me by hiding among some straw, now, didn't you?" The demon asks, causing the children to scream out once more.

"And you cried for your Mama and Papa to save you. They can't help you now, because I devoured them both. I speak the truth. Look inside my belly and see!" The demon bellows as he advances towards them, causing them to scream. Suddenly, Inuyasha appeared, forcing the demon back with his sword, but then used his Iron claws. However, quickly dodging Inuyasha's attack, the demon was about a yard away from him now.

"Get out of here," Inuyasha demands, causing the boy to get up and carry his sister away.

"Look at that." Miroku insists as they all rush over to see the large demon.

"The demon," Kagome states.

"With a spider mark on its back," Miroku adds.

"I'm not seeing (Y/N) or Kagura anywhere though..." Songo trails off.

"You must be Naraku's third incarnation." Inuyasha declares, but the demon then chuckles.

"You're thinking I dodged the Tessaiga. You're surprised at my speed despite my enormous size." The demon relays as he stares down at Inuyasha. Readying himself with an annoyed expression, Inuyasha glares up at the demon, causing it to laugh.

"Just as you suspect, I can read the minds of others, Inuyasha. My sisters Kagura and Kanna were merely the opening acts. Now Goshinki makes his debut." Goshinki proclaims.

"Huh! Your big speech is over, Demon. Time to take you off the stage!" Inuyasha shouts as he makes a frontal assault on Goshinki, but he jumps up.

"Huh?" Inuyasha sounds as he looks around, but then looks up and quickly gets out of the way of Goshinki, who was about to land on him. Grasping his chest, Inuyasha glances over at Goshinki.

"I told you. I know every thought that crosses your mind. You seem to be suffering greatly. Tell me, could this be the end of you?" Goshinki questions.

"Not very likely. I'm getting tired of you." Inuyasha responds as he rushes towards Goshinki once again, but he dodges it faster than before.

"What?" Inuyasha asks as he sets the edge of his sword on the ground.

"I can predict every move before you make it," Goshinki answers as he gets behind Inuyasha and smacks him away.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome calls out as she sees him hit the ground.

"I'll go. He's still too weak to fight. Wind Tunnel-

"Stop!" Songo shouts while interrupting Miroku before he could open his hand.

"It's Naraku's poisonous insects!" Kagome bellows, while the Saimyōshō appeared around Goshinki, who begins to laugh.

"You were thinking you would suck me into your wind tunnel, Monk. You can't, because, you see, I know all your weaknesses. Songo, you are unable to battle. You still can't move since you were struck with your own weapon. Kagome, don't even consider shooting me with your arrow. I'll kill you before you draw the bow... (Y/N), would be very angry, seeing as she wants to teach you a lesson for lying to her." Goshinki sneers, causing Kagome's eyes to widen.

"(Y/N)..." Kagome trails off, causing Goshinki to smirk as he glances over to Shippo, but then turns away.

"Aw... Uh! Hey, you!" Shippo calls out as he jumps onto Miroku's shoulder.

"How dare you try to ignore me like that!" Shippo shouts.

"Don't worry, Shippo. He's just toying with you, and he's probably doing the same with you, Kagome." Miroku insists, causing Kagome to glance over at him and nod. Inuyasha began to slowly sit up, but then looked over to see the kids from earlier.

"The children from the stable. I told you to escape. What are you doing still- Oh. Those clothes. Do they belong to your parents?" Inuyasha questions as he stands up.

"Uh-huh." The boy responds, causing Inuyasha to glare over at Goshinki, who begins to make his way over to them.

"Just be cool. I'll kill this demon once and for all. That's what you were thinking, correct, Inuyasha? Don't make me laugh. You are half-demon, are you not? You have demon blood coursing through your veins, yet you take pity on humans." Goshinki taunts as he glares down at Inuyasha.

"Get off my back! I'll slice you in half!" Inuyasha bellows as he lifts his sword over his head and stares at Goshinki.

"You and Naraku aren't so different..." Goshinki trails off, but then he narrows his eyes at Inuyasha. "Inuyasha, you're trying to slice through the wind scar and blast me away, are you not?" Goshinki asks.

"If you can figure that out, you know you're gonna die," Inuyasha answers as he rushes towards Goshinki, who then breaks the wind scare, causing everyone to gasp.

"The demon has destroyed the Wind Scar," Songo states.

"Ok, then I'll just slice your head in half!" Inuyasha shouts as he swings the Tessaiga, but Goshinki opens his mouth and begins to bite it.

"Your precious Tessaiga is nothing more than a dog fang now," Goshinki remarks as he breaks the sword.

"The Tessaiga is broken!" Kagome announces, but Goshinki then spits out the piece he had in his mouth.

"I suppose that proves a Demon's fangs are stronger than you, Tessaiga." Goshinki points out, as Inuyasha stared at his broken sword in shock. However, using his claws, Goshinki slashes Inuyasha, causing blood to fly everywhere.

"Inuyasha, no!" Kagome screams as Inuyasha falls to the ground, and his sword is about a foot away from him and untransformed, causing Goshinki to chuckle.

"Inuyasha, it appears that your mind has now gone blank. Your sword is broken, and so is your spirit. Or are you dead perhaps?" Goshinki questions.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome calls out as she goes to rush over to him.

"Kagome!" Miroku shouts as he rushes after her and gets in front of her, causing Goshinki to turn to them.

"No, stay back, Kagome!" Miroku demands, but Goshinki was behind him in a blink of an eye and hits him away.

"Miroku!" Kagome chirps as she sees him land on the ground.

"And you, Monk, you were prepared to draw me into your Wind Tunnel, even if it meant sacrificing your own pathetic life." Goshinki points out as Songo and Shippo make their way over to the unconscious Miroku.

"Miroku!" Shippo wails, pulling on his arm.

"Please, say something." Songo pleads.

"Don't rush to your death. Be assured that I plan to devour every last one of you Humans. First, however, would you like to know about your cousin? She will probably be joining you soon." Goshinki sneers, causing Kagome to glare at him.

"What do you mean?!" Kagome exclaims, causing him to grin.

"I didn't lie to you. (Y/N) wants to get back at you all for lying to her, but also confused as to why Naraku hasn't killed her or even allowed her to leave the castle, let alone her room." Goshinki explains, but Kagome shakes her head.

"Why should I believe anything you're saying?" Kagome asks as tears begin to form in her eyes, causing him to chuckle.

"It's the only closure you'll get, but don't worry when I get back. I'll personally let her join you in my stomach!" Goshinki answers as he begins heading towards her, but his arm is taken off, causing him to scream out in pain. Suddenly landing a few feet away, Inuyasha stands there, while Goshinki's arm lands behind him.

"Is there something wrong, Goshinki? I thought that you were able to read my mind." Inuyasha states as he cracks his knuckles with only one hand, while his eyes are different, and he has purple markings on his face.

(To (Y/N))

I was lying in bed staring up at the ceiling, but I let out a sigh.

"How long are you going to stand there?" I ask as I glance over to see a tall figure walk into my room.

(Naraku's POV)

I stood there looking down at (Y/N), who was sitting up in her futon, staring out the window. "I thought this girl was starving herself because she no longer wished to stay. This mortal never does anything I expect her to... Is that why I feel so intrigued by this girl?" I think as I quickly clear my throat, trying to shake these thoughts and make my way over to her.

"What, Naraku?" (Y/N) asks as she looks over at me, and I stare at her for a moment.

( (Y/N)'s POV)

I stared into his dark ruby red eyes as I then felt him grab my hand and place something in it, causing me to look down to see what it was. "A hair Ornament?" I wonder as I stare down at the Ornament that had the same flower as the ones in Naraku's garden.

"Why are you giving me this?" I ask as I look back up with a confused expression to see Naraku's normally expressionless face seem a bit softer than usual.

"In the future, use this if you need me. I've enchanted it so if you twirl this Ornament, I will come." Naraku explains as he uses his hand to gently close my hand with the Ornament in it and shows me how to twirl it, causing my eyes to widen. "He enchanted this hair ornament because I said I starved myself because I wanted to see him... But why does he care so much for a mortal he's just trying to use?" I wonder, but then let out a sigh.

"So I just need to twirl it and you'll come?" I question and Naraku nods.

"You still want you're revenge on Inuyasha's group, don't you?" Naraku asks causing a determined expression to appear on my face.

"more than anything." I answer causing a slight smirk to appear.

"Good." Naraku insists as he stands up and turns away from me.

"Rest while you can, (Y/N)." Naraku advices, while walking out of the room and a grin cloaks my face.
