Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 The Mirror

(To me)

"Please, I promise not to be a burden. Let me come!" Koharu requests sitting on the ground across from Inuyasha and Kagome, while I was standing beside Songo.

"No chance," Inuyasha states.

"It would be dangerous for you to come along with us," Kagome adds, and I nod. "Yeah, especially if he comes after me." I think as Kirara jumps into my arms as I stare down at her. "A part of me hopes he will, but another part wants to be as far away as possible... No, just stop thinking about it!" I think as I slightly shake my head.

"Stop arguing and stay behind!" Inuyasha demands, causing me to roll my eyes at Inuyasha.

"You don't have to be so harsh." I point out, causing Inuyasha to glare over at me, and I do the same.

"It is in your best interest." Songo declares, breaking the glaring contest between me and Inuyasha.

"She's right." Shippo agrees, causing Koharu to put on a sad expression.

"Please, Koharu." Kagome pleads.

"I have spoken to the Village elder." Miroku's voice rings out, causing us all to look over to see him walking towards us.

"Miroku," Koharu calls out as she stands up from the ground.

"Koharu, come with me, would you?" Miroku requests, causing her to walk over to him, and they begin to walk down the hill. We were watching as Miroku brought Koharu into his arms, as they then sat down on the ground, and I put on a confused expression. "If you're trying to push her away, that is not the way to do it." I think as I roll my eyes.

"Does it look like he's setting her straight?" Inuyasha asks.

"From up here, it looks more like he's seducing her," Kagome answers.

"Perverted Monk," I add as I glare down at him.

"Lecher, he's all over the girl. A parting like that will make her fall deeper in love." Songo remarks, causing Inuyasha to stare up at Songo, and my eyes widen. "Could she be-"

"Why are you staring?" Songo questions.

"I might just be imagining it, Songo, but is there a little jealousy thing going on here?" Inuyasha asks, causing me to immediately put my hand to my face as Songo glares at him.

"It's you're imagination!" Songo declares, causing me to look over to see a huge fiery aura surrounding her. "What a moron?!" I think as I see Inuyasha hiding behind Kagome.

"If you say so," Kagome says.

(Time Skip)

Miroku, I'm begging you. Won't you stay with me one last night?" Koharu asks.

"You heard Koharu. Won't you please stay the night with us?" The elder's questions caused me to stare up at the dark sky.

"No, I fear that postponing our departure will only make it that much harder for her," Miroku answers, and I nod. "It wouldn't be good to stay in one place for too long." I think as I then glance over to see tears forming in Koharu's eyes, and she turns and quickly runs into the house.

"Stay for her sake, one last night won't make that much difference," Songo states, making me look down at the ground.

"It would probably help, seeing as we're the only people here she knows." Kagome's adds.

"I must decline. If reason gave way to passion and Koharu became pregnant, she would be burdened for the rest of her life with my likeness." Miroku declares, causing Kagome, Songo, and me to shrink back in disgust.

"Reason gave way to passion? So what does that mean, Miroku?" Shippo asks, causing Miroku to walk over, and we glare at him.

"Delighted you asked-"

"I'm delighted you won't answer, SHIPPO'S STILL YOUNG REMEMBER!" Kagome shouts as she interrupts Miroku, and I rest my fist on the top of his skull.

"Don't you dare lay a finger on that girl or I'll crack you're skull," I warn, causing Miroku to nod slightly while holding his head in pain.

"Ugh, she's crying..." Inuyasha trails off, causing me to look over and see him walking towards the house.

"She shouldn't waste her tears on that creep." Inuyasha insists, causing everyone else to look at him as well.

"Inuyasha?" Kagome questions, and I let out a sigh.

"Fine. We'll stay here tonight and set out in the morning, but no tears in the morning. Alright?" Inuyasha asks, causing her to look up at him.

"Yes." Koharu nods with a smile. "So Dog-Boy has a kind side to him... No, I was already fooled once." I think as I shake my head and begin to get a bad feeling.

(Y/N)." A ghostly voice sounds out, causing a chill to run up my spine, while I look around as everyone begins to make their way inside the house. Suddenly, out of the corner of my eyes, I caught a glimpse of something white by the tree, but when I turned to look at it, nothing was there.

"(Y/N), are you coming?!" I hear Kagome call out, causing me to look over at the house. "He wouldn't really send someone to come after me, right?" I wonder as I look back at the house.

"Yeah, I'm coming!" I respond as I glance back at the tree once more, but then shrug it off and head towards the house. Walking into the house, I saw Kagome setting her stuff down, causing me to walk over, and she smiled at me. "Why does she smile so brightly at me...? Doesn't she remember I tried to kill her?!" I wonder as I stared at her in disbelief.

"Songo had told me that you're remembering stuff," Kagome informs as she glances down at the floor.

"It's dreams of two young children, so I don't know if their actually memories..." I trail off, and she nods. "None of it matters anyway until I see that little girl's face." I think as I let out a sigh.

"I hope you remember everything soon, (Y/N)." Kagome insists, and I nod. "Me too." I think as I stare at her.

(Time Skip)

We were all sitting with several plates of food in front of us, but I did nothing but stare at them.

"This stew is incredible!" Shippo chirps, causing me to glance over to see him chowing down.

"You said it. Koharu really is a sweety, it looks like she really went out of her way to please her with her cookie, Miroku." Kagome states, but out of the corner of my eye, I see Inuyasha grab his sword and pick it up. "My bad feeling from earlier just got a whole lot worse." I think as Inuyasha glares at the door.

"What's wrong?" Kagome asks.

"We're surrounded," Miroku answers as he stares over at the door as well.

"Pardon?" Kagome questions.

"I fear the meal Koharu took so much trouble to prepare will go cold," Miroku responds as Kagome stares at Inuyasha.

"Yeah. Strange, though there's no scent of demons in the air." Inuyasha points out.

"Let's go survey the area," Miroku suggests, causing both him and Inuyasha to stand up, but he then glares over at me.

"If I find out you're behind this, you'll regret it," Inuyasha warns as he then turns to him and Miroku rush outside.

"He really needs to lay off..." Songo trails of,f causing Kagome to look over at me.

"Don't worry about what Inuyasha said (Y/N)." Kagome insists, causing me to stare at her. "What will you do if he's right and it really is Naraku?" I wonder, but then Kirara, who was in my hands, jumps away, rushing in the direction Miroku and Inuyasha went.

"What's going on out there?" Shippo asked as they all stared out the cracked doors.

"Their numbers are great. I shall assist them. (Y/N), Shippo, you stay here with Kagome." Songo answers, but then the doors behind us open, revealing Koharu.

"Something dreadful has happened!" Koharu bellows, causing us all to look over at her.

"What's the matter, Koharu?" Kagome questions.

"A demon got inside and attacked the elder and his wife," Koharu responds, causing my eyes to narrow at her. "But I thought Inuyasha said there was no smell of a demon." I think as I look around to see Kagome grabbing her arrows and Songo her Hiraikotsu. Everyone began to walk towards Koharu, and I followed behind them wearily. Songo walked into the room first as Koharu hung onto Kagome as they entered.

"Are they really dead?" Shippo asked as he jumped up and hung off my arm.

"Keep you're guard up," I whispered, causing him to turn to me, but then nod. "Something is definitely not right." I think as I placed my hand on the hilt of my sword.

"The poor Elder." Koharu cried.

"A demon did this?" Songo questions cause Kagome to look at Koharu.

"Think, do you remember what the demon looked like?" Kagome asks, causing Koharu to look away from her.

"Not exactly, I only caught a glimpse of it," Koharu answers as Songo then begins to walk into the next room, causing us to follow after her as Shippo jumps off my shoulder, walking ahead of me. Suddenly, a little girl dressed in white walked out from behind the door holding a mirror.

"There it is!" Songo shouts as she goes to throw her Hiraikotsu, causing me to get a bad feeling as it disappears.

(Y/N)." The girl whispers, causing me to look back to see her standing behind me.

"How do you-" I was interrupted by my body beginning to glow. "Could she be another one of Naraku's servants?" I wonder as I glare down at Kanna.

"(Y/N)!" Kagome calls out, causing Songo to ready her weapon.

"LET HER GO!" Songo bellows, causing the girl to disappear, and I fall to the ground completely out of breath as if my very life was taken away from me. "Is this my-"

"Are you okay?" Shippo asks as he and Kagome rush over to me..

"P-punishment?" I question, causing Kagome to put on a confused expression. "Does he want me dead now?" I wonder as Songo turns to see the white demon

"You'll pay." Songo declares as she throws her Hiraikotsu at the girl, and Shippo goes to back her up, but the white demon holds out her mirror, causing Songo's weapon to bounce back and hit her. Falling onto Shippo, both were now lying on the ground unconscious.

"N-no, Songo, Shippo." I stutter as I stare at them with worried expressions.

"Songo, Shippo. Are you alright?!" Kagome exclaims as I glare over at Kanna, who was walking towards us.

"Kagome, g-get out of here." I insist, causing her to look down at me. "I may be falling for their kindness." I think as I try to sit up.

"No, I won't!" Kagome proclaims as she stands up and glares over at the girl.

"Kagome..." I trail off as I look over to see Koharu grab ahold of her. "Damn it, my body won't listen!" I think, while shrinking back down to the floor, out of breath.

"Koharu, what're you doing?" Kagome asks as she was trying to get out of her hold, but the white demon then points her mirror towards Kagome.

"Look into my mirror. Give you're soul." The girl instructs, causing me to gather up all the strength I had left to stand up in front of Kagome.

"Leave Kagome alone!" I shout as my body begins to glow once again.

"(Y/N)!" Kagome cries out as she begins to fight Koharu harder than before. "I can't let them die here because of me." I think as I begin to fall to my knees.

(To Inuyasha)

"Inuyasha, use restraint. The Villagers are under someone's spell; we must not harm them." Miroku informs that they were fighting a bunch of Villagers with various weapons in their hands.

"We aren't getting anywhere!" Inuyasha shouts as he continues to punch Villagers one after the other.

"You fools are so pathetic!" A woman's voice rings out, causing Inuyasha and Miroku to look over and see Kagura.

"You would have done well to slay them all; that way, they wouldn't keep coming after you," Kagura states.

"Kagura," Miroku says.

"You again, so (Y/N) is still in cahoots with Naraku, then?!" Inuyasha exclaims, causing Kagura to chuckle.

"Actually, she ran away, and it seems Naraku wants her back," Kagura informs, causing their eyes to widen.

"Naraku wants (Y/N) back for what purpose?" Miroku asks.

"As if I would know, Monk," Kagura answers with a smug expression.

"Then are you the one who's possessed the Villagers?" Inuyasha questions.

"I am. A mortal with no soul is no different from a dead man." Kagura responds.

"Mortal with no soul?" Inuyasha asks, causing Kagura to hold her fan to her chin.

"You're friend Kagome is having the soul sucked out of her even as we speak." Kagura answers.

"You witch!" Inuyasha declares.

"That must mean that there is a second demon here with Kagura." Miroku points out, causing Kagura to open up her fan.

"Inuyasha, unsheathed you're Tessaiga. This time victory shall be mine! Kagura proclaims, but Inuyasha was just standing there.

"What ails you, Inuyasha? Don't tell me you're afraid." Kagura remarks, causing Inuyasha to glare at her.

"Miroku, go back to the house and help the girls." Inuyasha requests.

"Of course I will. What about you?" Miroku asks.

"You know what," Inuyasha answers as he takes out his sword.

"I'm staying here to finish this Witch off." Inuyasha declares, causing Kagura to chuckle.

"Dance of blades!" Kagura calls out, while waving her fan, causing several blades of air to fly towards Inuyasha, who begins blocking them with his sword.

"Go now, Miroku!" Inuyasha demands, causing Miroku to step back.

"I'm on my way!" Miroku calls out as he begins rushing back over to the house.

"You're help will arrive too late!" Kagura calls out as she waves her fan once more, causing even more blades of air to rush towards Inuyasha. As Miroku was running, the possessed Villagers began trying to get in his way, but Kirara knocked most of them out of the way.

"Thank you, Kirara!" Miroku thanks her as he continues rushing up to the house.

(To (Y/N) )

"You are weak!" A woman's voice calls out as I stand in the middle of a vast darkness.

"What the hell do you mean by weak?!" I exclaim, but a laugh rings out as I look around.

"You and me are of one being, it's only natural..." The woman's voice trails off as I feel a sharp pain in my back as if I was stabbed.

"Save him." The woman demands as I look back to see a Warrior Priestess behind me holding a bloodied sword.

(Third POV)

Stop this!" Kagome shouts as she was still trying to get out of Koharu's grasp as she was watching the unconscious (Y/N)'s soul being sucked into the mirror by Kanna, but then Shippo wakes up and looks over at the scene.

"Hey, what are you doing to my friends?!" Shippo exclaims as he then jumps toward Kanna, but is forced backwards.

"Shippo!" Kagome calls out to the now unconscious fox child.
