In a cultivation room in the fifth ring. Vale Flora was deep in meditation.
'Hmm' she felt something and stopped meditating. A wave of her hand brought a blood red stone that was lighting up weakly into her palm.
'Haha, finally' she thought and was ecstatic. The boy was finally in the city. The only problem she was facing was either to take him back or eliminate him and make it look like an accident.
'If he goes back, my disciple will lose their position in the family.'
'Humph she snorted in displeasure at the thought.
'If he is trash then I will take him back but if his talent out shadows my disciple, he he, do not blame me.' she clenched her fists and let out a creepy laugh as another stone with patterns appeared and the blood stone disappeared.
She tapped on it and a small blue square screen around five inches appeared. This was an advanced communication stone, you could actually view the person you were talking to. The screen had images of people you knew, they were like small avatars which would light up if communication was made..
She used her mind and selected Brune's avatar which was gray. After a few a seconds, it lit up and a gruff impatient voice came through the screen. 'what?'
'What shady business are you doing that you wont let me see you' there was a pause and the screen flickered and Brune's harsh unsmiling face appeared on the screen.
'I am busy, get on with it witch' he said impolitely.
Vale decided decided to let it go. She was on his home turf although she was seething with anger inside.
'The boy is in the city' she let out a smug smile when she saw the surprise on his face. She knew he had been looking for the boy too, not for her but for something else. Vale did not want to be in his bad graces at this moment, so long as they made a deal, they would both get what they wanted.
'Do you have a specific position?' Brune finally asked. He also knew the woman was poisonous and did not want to get involved with her. The smaller the interactions, the better. He did not want her to know his secrets.
'No the blood stone can not get a specific lock on him as if something is blocking him but he is in the city. Since this is your domain, I think it will be easier for you to find him'
'Thank you for your information, I will get back to you when I find him.' he sneered and went off. His avatar had grayed out.
'Humph, don't act all almighty, your city is about to be destroyed. I will wait when you want reinforcements and make you bleed or my name is not Vane Flora' she chortled as her face contorted in anger. She had decided to hire the seeker organization to follow Brune's goons, it would be safer. She had a faint feeling that Brune would not inform her if he found the boy.
She tapped on the stone again and contacted the manager of the seeker organization of the entire city.
…........
Southern gate, seeker organization branch in the first ring.
Grog was just entering the branch when his communication stone vibrated. He removed it from his storage bag that was tied to his waist. His storage space was around two by meters in volume, it was made of a leather looking material and could fit in his palm easily.
'Where are you?'a gruff f voice came through when he had tapped on one of the patterns.
Grog knew he was going to get another punishment. He could still feel the phantom pain from his back where his master had kicked him in disappointment.
'mas…ter, I w..a..s just to get a re..port fr…om the seekers'' Grog stammered as he shivered in fear.
'Stop whatever you are doing, the boy is in the city and since you know him better, hurry up and look for him yourself. Get to him before others do so, if you don't, you will receive more than a kick.' Brune snapped at him.
'OK master' Grog let out a faint whisper in acknowledgement but Brune could not hear it because the stone pattern had grayed out.
Grog did not bother to enter the seeker organization, he just turned and hurried to the gates. His mind was telling him that Wesley would still go to the southern gates if he needed help since that is where he had lived all this while.
'How did the boy survive the elemental storm? ' he shook his head in wonder.
….........
And in one of the mines, almost two kilometers deep in the ground, there was a huge cave filled with mutated beasts lying down as if in sleep. They gave out a palpitating aura that would kill a mortal in minutes. From the edge, there were beasts with low cultivation and as you went deeper, their cultivation levels would increase. The beasts in the middle were releasing auras close to that of the Brune the city lord, a seventh level warrior.
Surprisingly, in this place were no mortal would dare step, there was a man seated cross legged cultivating. It seemed like the beasts were cultivating according to his rhythm.
When he realized that him and the beasts were in sync, a creepy smile curled on his lips. If you could look closely, this man was Frost, the man in charge of the mines.
Frost opened his eyes and looked around in happiness. His eyes had turned darker almost becoming pure black. There was just a little white remaining.
'Soon, I will take over this domain' he muttered with a creepy grin.
…..........
When this all was happening, Wesley and Desker were just arriving at the living quarters of the captain of the guards.
Wesley did not know that fate was just about to involve him in its machinations.
