There's a common knowledge amongst good swordsmen. A sword is an extension of a user's soul. When you lift a sword you wield it with the intention to protect, otherwise it turns against you. They say the stronger the sword the fiercer the will, they say stronger swords chooses if it wants to be welded and who wields it. That's what sets supreme grade swords aside normal swords.
In the case of Gravorn, a slender saber with a single sharp edge. It goes against most sword principles. Gravorn was a cursed blade. The swordsmith's boiling rage melted the ore, and his hatred shaped its slender figure and sharpened its edge. It was revered in the Chamberlain lineage for its cruelty of rendering the most powerful wielders useless thereafter. Great men used it, but none could bend it to their will.
Gravorn was a blade forged not with the purpose of protecting friends or family. It was made to eradicate the wielder's enemies, by draining the wielder's life sources in exchange for greater power. This cruelty did earn it the nick name Soul Eater
Spear was stupified. His eyes were wide open, a sense of nostalgia hit him, a memory of the past replaying itself before his eyes.
The edge of his mouth curled into a wide grin, one that could make anyone shudder
"Oh I see it now. The obsession with that piece of junk" he said.
Leonard turned to Yimu on the ground. She was battered and in no shape to move anymore. He faced Kael. "Please take care of her" he said him
Kael picked Yimu up from the ground, she was very light on his arms. He exchanged glances with Leonard one last time before stepping out of their way.
"I get it now" Spear laughed "That junk gives you power"
"Not quite. It's a matter of give and take" Leonard raised Gravorn over his shoulder "I give it power, and it returns it in tenfolds" After that he appeared before Spear already taking a stance to make an upward slash.
Spear hardened his fist(Armament Haki) and met with the saber, the force sent ripples traveling through the air.
Leonard looked as if he was under no pressure at all—and indeed he was. Effortlessly, he completed his upward slash that sent Spear some distance back.
Spear bites his lower lips. A sharp pain coursed through his fist, although he coated his hand Leonard attack marked him between his middle and ring finger. Even with the odds slightly turning against him he still wore his eerie smile proudly.
He shook off the pain and ran at Leonard, throwing punches that Gravorn met with ease.
Leonard took a step back then leaped up into the air. He held his saber firmly and performed a spin mid air then came down with a thunderous slash
Spear brought both arms in front of his face and hardened them. He received the attack gracefully, the force caused his legs to sink into the ground. Leonard's strength kept increasing and Spear's limbs grew tired, the saber was already cutting through his skin
Spear let out a loud cry as his arms gave up giving way for Leonard to cut his chest open. Blood spat out, his legs became numb as he went down on his knees.
Leonard walked up to him about to finish the job. He heard him mumbling some words
"You…you think it's over?!"
Spear eyes were red, almost all his veins were visible. He was at his limit but still had one card up his sleeve. He dipped his fingers into his mouth and whistled so hard it echoed through the compound and deep into the forest.
Spear chuckled maniacally "You remember Fang's dog right?" he said
"What's he talking about?" Kael asked from the sidelines
"Boba. The town beast I told you about" Leonard walked up to Kael "I was about to take care of it when I'm done Spear"
"Mm. A beast huh? Too bad Appy is back at home, it could've been a perfect match for him. So how big is this Boba?" Kael asked
"Boba is quite–"
A chilling roar coupled with a strong wind interrupted them. It came from the forest a mile away from where they stood. Birds took to the air in a wild beating of wings, the remaining forest animal dispersed finding a new place to hold up.
After the roar, came a loud thud that shook the earth beneath their feet. It was most likely the first step of the beast. As the beast drew closer, so did the quake.
The earth cried, trees crumbled, some reaped from their roots as Boba approached.
A beast that stood hundreds of feet appeared. Its fur was as white as snow. Its fingers bore long sharp claws. Its mouth shot out like that of a mice with long whiskers around it and inside stood razor sharp teeth
"Sometimes I wonder how that scum managed to tame Boba" Leonard said
"Are you going to take it or should I—"
"I'll handle it" Leonard stepped up. He stood between Kael and Boba then took a fighting stance.
[Ketsugetsu: Blood moon cross]
Leonard cuts the air with Gravorn with two precise swings. The sheer force with his Haki sent two flying slashes that took the form of a crescent moon cutting through anything on its path, then passed through Boba like a hot knife through butter.
Boba got chopped in four parts. Its warm red blood bathed the whole compound before his body met the ground in a loud thud
Kael wore an impressed look on his face. Most of all he was ecstatic.
"Now then" Leonard paced towards the beaten man who knelt in disbelief "I have avenged the deaths of my companion. Even though you weren't directly involved in their death, you had an hand in it so your crimes mustn't go unpunished" he dropped his saber on his neck and glanced at Kael's direction "What's it going to be, captain"
A smile appeared on Kael's face. He fought so hard so it wouldn't spread ear to ear "He must have learnt his lesson, so let's leave him" Kael said, his eyes moved to the slender figure in his arms "Besides, you may have no issue with him, but she still might"
Leonard retrieved the saber "You're right. She and the rest of the town folks should deal with him." Leonard stopped. He looked around at the destruction that befell the place "Speaking of townspeople. The Navy that he works with should be here anytime from now, I say we should head out before they arrive"
"About that… did they allow a pirate like him to be the boss of this town? They are more like pirates than navy if you ask me. What do you say, why don't we teach them a lesson too?" Kael suggested with a smirk
"That's…not a bad idea"

A mile away from Leaf Port. A carrack was spotted gliding through the calm waves of the seas. On the pennant was the Navy sign. Boarded the carrack were a handful of Navy soldiers counting a total of twenty on the deck. At the foredeck was a young man likely in his early twenties. He wore a striped blue and white suit, and hung over his shoulders was a big marine coat almost sweeping the floor. Captain Gideon Cross. The commander of the Navy ship
One of his men ran up to him "Captain, the island is in sight sir"
"That's good. Tell the rest to get ready, we have clean up to attend to" Cross said to him, his eyes still fixed at the spread of blue before him
