Chapter 1 - Chapter One

Chartreuse…Monday…

It was a week after I had resumed from the Holiday. Purple Rose Academy got busy and everyone became serious most especially the seniors.

I had History just after recess and I decided to use the period to prepare for the next class.

Purple Rose Academy was a boarding school located in the Eastern part of Guinea. My family resided in Bonnaville, quite far from Guinea so I only visited during short holidays.

Purple Rose Academy was like a little city. It had a convenience store and even a mall. Everyone had their own room because each new semester only sixty students are admitted and through a three phased admission examination.

While reading in the library, Sheridan and Jinx came around. They were my best friends from elementary school. Myself and Jinx were different species from the same home town but Sheridan was born farther away at the Middle East of West Orange.

"I told you we would find her here." Jinx said and Sheridan rolled her eyes. I looked up at them.

"Aren't you both supposed to be at the Cafeteria?" I cocked my head to the side.

"Well, we were at the Cafeteria but the lady beside me said we shouldn't order anything till we know where you are." Jinx sarcastically said making me chuckle.

"I was just worried." Sheridan replied.

"Ooh. Its just sixteen minutes to our next class and I still have no food in my stomach. Thank you very much Sheridan, you are the best." Jinx continued ironically as he pointed at his wrist as though he wore a watch.

"Oh please."

"Alright. You both should stop your banter. You can go on and find something to eat. I will meet you both at our next class." I said.

"Thank you." Jinx smiled.

Sheridan grumbled; "I don't have History for my next class. It's Maths."

"No wonder you were worried about me." I winked.

"Whatever. Don't let it sink in though." She turned to Jinx "Let's bail." She said and pulled him by his school bag. I shook my head like a mother who watched her children play. Sheridan and Jinx had always been like that and to an extent, I saw them as a couple.

The bell rang indicating the next class and I was already rounding up. I hung my school bag and headed out of the library.

Our History teacher, Miss. Emily was a very strict personality and so I couldn't afford going late to her class.

"Wait for me, Chart." I heard Jinx call and soon, he was beside me. We walked towards our class and luckily, Miss. Emily wasn't there yet. She always believed a student was late if they got to the class after her even if it was a minute after.

Myself and Jinx found a good seat at the back but when we were about to sit down, someone grabbed Jinx by his arm.

"How is my lovely Jinx doing?" I rolled my eyes when I saw Evan.

Like, can't this gay realize that Jinx is straight?

Jinx frowned and released himself from Evan's grip; "I am getting tired of warning you Evan. I don't do men."

Evan sighed like always and I could already predict what the dude was about to say but Miss. Emily came at the wrong right time…if you know what I mean.

"Why are the three of you still upstanding? Do you want to spend the next class at detention?" She frowned, making her looked uglier than she already did.

"Calm down, Miss. We just got into the class." Evan smirked, exposing his sharp fangs.

Miss, Emily huffed and moved to the board. We then took our seats but not at the back anymore. That gave Evan the opportunity to sit behind Jinx and play with his hair.

Geez! This dude isn't willing to give up at all.

"Today, we will be learning about the demons of Fuhinton. Who knows about Fuhinton?" Miss. Emily asked.

A girl raised her hand up. I believe she is Rina.

"Yes, Beverly."

Oops! I got the name wrong.

Beverly stood up; "Fuhinton is a forgotten city where strange demons inhabited. The city was destroyed by the Soul Oracle after they were being challenged by Lankard Howard, the leader of the Vhea."

Wow. I never knew that. I guess I read the wrong topic…again.

"Good one, Beverly. I am impressed. Anyway, Beverly is very correct about Fuhinton. The city had so many strange demons which only meant that it had a very small population. It was formed by the Great Slayer, Derrick Stallone II. Their small population made it easier for the Soul Oracle to destroy them but what made the Soul Oracle angry?

Some Historians believe that Lankard Howard together with his faithful man, Gerald Oxford had proclaimed war against the Soul Oracle because they had possessed his brother, Logan Howard.

Other historians believe that Logan formed an alliance with the soul Oracle in order to get the incredible power of Lankard.

It is known that the massacre happened during the time of the Wolf Nation and it is also known that Logan was a greedy king. This made the source that Logan wanted Lankard's power more reliable than the other."

Such a history. I am curious now.

"What became of Logan then if he joined the Soul Oracle?" Evan coolly asked without raising his hand.

Such audacity.

Miss. Emily overlooked that. I just wonder why all teachers overlook every single ugly action of Evan. Like damn, I hate the guy without even knowing it.

"Well…no one knows what happened to him. All that is written down is that he wielded a dangerous magic that destroyed the green fields around the prosperous city and that is it."

"That isn't true, Miss." Beverly raised her hand and Miss. Emily's eyes twitched.

"Excuse me." She said through clenched teeth.

"That isn't true. Logan ran away with the child of Vandidar and Hades then put a dark magic in the soul of the child. What isn't known is his whereabout, if he still lives, why he did that and about the child." Beverly said. She looked pretty confident and I could tell I wasn't the only one with the question mind.

'How does she know?'

And

What does she know?
