Corvin was sitting in black Ivy Flex, one of the best cars in Morrack, parked in front of Sparkle across the road in the parking lot. He wasn't visible through the black mirror of the car. He was here to get a glimpse of Sorrell, he came often right before Sorrell got off work.
Sorrell walked out, and someone approached him from behind, throwing the documents at him. He started picking up the flying papers and placing them together. The female superior was still talking to him. Although Corvin couldn't hear them, he could see she was flaring with anger. Sorrell placed the papers in a file and walked out.
"Don't you want to talk to him?" Michael, who was sitting beside the driver at the passenger seat, suggested in a soft tone.
"He doesn't want to see me," Corvin let out a sigh.
Sorrell got into his car and drove away.
"Let's go."
Corvin's driver drove off at his instruction.
ONE MONTH LATER
Sorrell picked up his phone as he was sitting at the dining table having breakfast with Aramin.
"It's your off day, right?" Shael's voice came through.
"Yes, it is," Sorrell replied, judging Aramin's expression.
"Could you please drive me to my apartment? I just wanted to do some cleaning. Leaving it for months doesn't sound good."
"Yeah, sure. Then I will come to pick you up in an hour."
"It's okay, no rush. I just wanted to make sure to call you before you make other appointments."
"Alright, see you later then."
"Who is that?" Aramin asked, his expression was stiff.
"Mr. Shael, President Ronan's boyfriend," Sorrell placed the phone at the table and grabbed his spoon again. "He wanted me to drive him to his apartment. He wants to do cleaning."
The chair creaked as Aramin got up. "They own such a big company, can't they hire a personal driver?" He walked out, leaving Sorrell alone at the table, who took a deep breath and continued eating.
Sorrell entered the car into the apartment parking lot.
"Aren't you going back?" Shael asked.
"I will help you with cleaning," Sorrell parked the car and turned it off. "I don't have anything to do anyways."
"What about your Alpha?" Shael got off of the car and looked at Sorrell, who was already out. "I mean you get only one day in a week to spend time with him."
"Well, we have been dating for a long time now. We are not that intimate now."
"Still, he is your family."
"But one day is fine, so don't worry."
They walked to the elevator.
After cleaning, Sorrell sat down on the floor leaning against the sofa on the carpet.
Shael handed him a mango juice can, opening one for himself, settling beside Sorrell.
"What's with the mango juice?" Sorrell chuckled.
"Well, it's good for health," Shael turned completely to Sorrell. "I have something to tell you."
Sorrell focused his attention on Shael.
"Actually, I am pregnant," Shael said with a faint smile to which Sorrell froze, "but I wanted to ask you about Ronan's opinion about kids."
Sorrell flinched. "Like if he likes kids or not?"
"Yeah, 'cause I am not sure if I should tell him or not."
"Let me ask you this first?" Sorrell leaned toward Shael. "You guys have been fighting?"
"Why do you say so?" Shael jolted with an awkward smile.
"'Cause if it was not the case, you would never ask me about his opinion on kids. You are asking me 'cause you are confused, right?" Sorrell held onto Shael's hand. "Shael, I have been working for him for years. I know he is not the best person out there."
"It's just he gets angry and irritated by every little thing. I am not sure how he would react."
Sorrell leaned back at the sofa again. "To tell you the truth, he hated kids so much that he paid so much attention to sperm control."
"Then I shouldn't tell him yet," Shael leaned beside Sorrell.
"But if you don't tell him now, things might escalate."
"What if he demands abortion?" Shael's eyes became teary. "I can't do that. It's our baby, his baby in my belly. I will protect the baby no matter what."
Sorrell smiled warmly, his head tilted to look at Shael. "Are you happy?"
"Yes," Shael responded with a warm smile, looking at him.
"Congratulations!"
"Thanks."
"Seems like you are not returning to showbiz for a long time now."
"I guess so."
"Aren't you sad that you can't pursue your dreams anymore?" Sorrell straightened himself. "I mean you don't even know if you can return after giving birth."
"You know what, I always wanted to be an actor because I could play different roles even though I was not them, so it was really fun, and I wanted recognition for playing those characters well. But now that I am pregnant, I just want to be a good father," Shael leaned towards Sorrell. "It's not been even three months and I keep thinking how the baby would look and everything."
"Do you want the baby to take after you?" Sorrell asked. "Well, that's reasonable 'cause look at your visuals."
"I want the baby to look like Daddy," Shael flinched. "I mean Ronan."
"Seems like you are deeply in love with President. I vote against you. I think he should look like you."
Both chuckled at Sorrell's comment.
