"Now that I think about it, I was indeed rude . I apologise for my behaviour," Ronan said, taking another step back. "Rest well. If you need anything... just contact me."
Ronan turned his back to Shael and walked away.
Shael felt a strong urge to open the door and run towards him to give him a strong, tight hug, asking for his help, but he just remembered Ronan's questions and was reminded of his mother.
[_10]
Shael never wanted to suffer like his mother did. He clutched his hands tightly and wrapped his arms around his waist. He pushed the door shut with his feet. He shook his head, trying to get over the sight of Ronan's broad shoulders.
[_13]
"Why is it still going lower," Ronan mumbled, getting into the elevator.
Shael resumed work after a few days of rest.
Ronan messaged him several times that he wanted to talk to him, but Shael ignored it since it wasn't work related. Moreover, he never wanted to give him false hope and lead him. He was trying to stay away from him.
Shael walked out of the studio and saw Xiao Wei waiting for him.
"Mr. Shael, President Ronan is waiting for you in the car," Sorrell informed with a soft tone.
"I'm actually busy, I have to do a live. Tell him to contact my agent if it's work related," Shael walked to the elevator leading to the basement.
"President, he said he has a live to do," Sorrell's voice was intimidated.
Ronan inhaled deeply. "Why is he avoiding me!"
"Let's go home!" he instructed Sorrell.
He removed his tie as soon as he entered the house and threw it on the floor. He took out his cell phone and dialled Shael's number.
Shael was still in live and felt his phone vibrating on the table. He picked up the phone and tucked it into his pants. Ronan called him several times, but he doesn't pick up.
Ronan opened his laptop and entered Shael's live. He donated a rocket in the live and sent a DM, "Close the live and pick up the call if you don't want me to ruin your live."
[_20]
Shael ended the live in a hurry and walked out of the room to the rooftop.
His cell phone started buzzing again. He picked it up.
"Why are you not responding to me?" Ronan's voice was rough.
"I already told your assistant to deliver all the work through my agent," Shael countered.
"It's not about work."
"Then it's none of my business."
"I'm your boss, you have to do everything that I ask you to."
"I'm your artist, not your puppet. Moreover, I find you uncomfortable invading my privacy."
[You have lost another point.]
Ronan took a deep breath. "I know I was being unreasonable before, but you should at least try to listen to whatever I have to say," his voice was softer than before.
"What about now," Shael's voice felt overwhelmed, "You are still being unreasonable, calling in the middle of work and forcing me to pick up your calls."
"I know... I know, but you weren't responding to me, so... Okay, I apologise. I'm sorry for behaving out of line." He settled down onto the sofa. "But please, can we talk face to face once? Then you can decide whether you want to meet me or not."
A silent moment went by, and finally Shael replied, "Okay."
"Then I will send Sorrell to pick you up."
Shael hung up as soon as he finished his sentence.
It was the same restaurant booked fully where they were supposed to have their first dinner. But this time Ronan was settled in front of the table, waiting for Shael.
Shael walked in and looked at Ronan sitting. He walked towards him with heavy steps as his head was giving him countless warning signs.
Ronan stood up as Shael approached. Shael sat down at Ronan's gesture.
"Order whatever is up to your liking," Ronan passed the menu.
"I'm okay, let's just talk about whatever you want to talk and go our separate ways," Shael replied coldly.
Silence took over the table.
Ronan took a deep breath before he started talking.
"Listen, it's true that I am interested in you as a love interest, so I just wanted to leave a good impression of me. I admit that I used my authority in my favour, but I was just sincerely hoping to leave a good impression of myself. And then later I was afraid that you might be with another Alpha. That made me anxious, and I ended up barging into your privacy."
Ronan grabbed the water filled glass and took a sip before continuing. "Please! Can you give me a chance to prove how loyal I am? I promise I will stay loyal to you until the end."
It was quite overwhelming for Ronan to make such a confession regardless of the fact that he lacked experience in dating and now he had to capture Shael's heart just with some words.
Shael was looking at Ronan, who was all nervous and couldn't talk properly as he confessed.
"Am I dreaming!" he thought, still staring at him. "Oh yeah, he is a playboy, it might be his way of trapping me."
"If you don't hate me, then can you consider giving me a chance to prove myself?"
Shael snapped out of his thoughts at this sentence.
"How are you going to prove your loyalty to me?"
"I don't know, but I can try my best," Ronan's tone was filled with overwhelming emotions.
That was the only way to gain his trust and then go back to his family. He knew how much Shael suffered in this novel before. He had two goals: one was not to hurt Shael, and the other was to gain his trust and go back to his own world.
