Shael extended his arm to turn off the lamp while laying on the bed. He closed his eyes to go to sleep.
"Zzz," his phone buzzed.
He grabbed the phone and looked at the screen. There was a text from Ronan.
"It's disappointing that I couldn't get a glimpse of you due to my busy schedule."
Shael got out of his bed and turned on the light. He stood in front of the mirror and fixed his hair. Then he took a picture of himself with a soft smile and sent it to Ronan.
Ronan opened the picture and smiled warmly.
"Finally, I would be able to sleep peacefully. Good night, Jasmin flower."
"Good night," Shael replied with a good night sticker.
He turned off the light and went to bed again while thinking of Ronan.
Ronan was sitting on the corner of his bed. He saw the paper bag while placing his phone on the table. He took out the shirt and sniffed it.
I don't even like Jasmine's scent, but why does his scent make me go crazy? He placed the shirt on his chest. Suddenly, I wanna hug you.
Ahhhhh, I am in big trouble. What if I fall too deep for you? It's not like I can find someone like you in my world.
He folded the shirt and walked into the dressing room. He placed it in a separate mirrored drawer and drifted off to sleep.
Ronan tried to wrap up his schedule earlier than usual so that he would be able to see Shael afterwards. He sent a text to him while approaching his car.
"Jasmine flower, where are you?"
"I am at the Bloom Company's building. CEO Caelen invited me."
Ronan frowned.
"Wrapping up the schedule didn't work, I still couldn't get to see you."
"Don't worry, I will send you a picture later."
Shael sent it with a laughing sticker.
Wait, Bloom.....? Ronan's head rang a bell.
"Are you going alone?" he messaged, but no reply.
He called Shael quickly, but he didn't pick up. He dialed his number several times, but no answer. He remembered the background check he had done on Caelen, he was shady in various ways. He was once investigated for physical assault and poisoning an omega. Although he did it because his Alpha slept with him, no one else knew the exact reason, neither did Ronan.
Ronan had to wait for Sorrell for another half hour as he was still working. He had keys for another car and quickly pressed his thumb against the key that led to a beeping sound from a car at some distance. He started the car, placed the navigation on it, and drove away at full speed.
He kept calling Shael all the time. He saw the Bloom Company signboard from a distance and rushed the car towards it. He almost slammed his car into another that was parked in front of the company.
He came out and barged, running into the company. He was interrupted by employees, but he pushed them away and searched every room. Finally, he slammed open the CEO office. He saw Shael sitting on a sofa while Caelen sat on the other sofa placed nearby. They were staring at him as he barged in out of nowhere.
Ronan was out of breath and sweating heavily. He took a deep breath and slowly walked to Shael, "Why wouldn't you pick up your phone?"
"I'm sorry, I put it on silence," Shael said in a hushed voice, still trying to make sense of what was going on.
Ronan turned to Caelen, "What are you plotting?"
"What happened?" Shael whispered in Ronan's ear as he held onto his arm.
"What do you mean by taking Shael here?" Ronan growled as he strode towards Caelen.
Shael came in front of him, "He just wanted to thank me for working hard on Bloom projects." He slightly pushed Ronan back. "Please Ronan, what are you doing?" he added in a hushed voice.
Ronan looked at Shael and realized the situation. He grabbed him by his arm and dragged him out of there. He pushed Shael into the car's passenger seat and drove away.
Intense silence took over the car as it roared on the road. Shael was staring at Ronan all along and trying to interpret his angry expressions.
Was he jealous? Is he the possessive type? Those thoughts knocked his head.
He leaned over, "Is everything okay? Why would you act like that?"
Ronan suddenly pressed the brakes, making them bounce forward. "Why would you accept his invitation and go alone? Don't you think it's suspicious that he is sponsoring all your work? He might have some motive."
"But he said he likes my work, that's why he wants to sponsor people who are talented," he was still lost.
Ronan turned to him, "I know I might have exaggerated, but I don't have good feelings about him. What if he tries to harm you?"
"Why would he harm me?"
"You are such an innocent soul. Of course people would try to harm you!"
"But he is just a work related person. Besides, he is an omega like me. Don't worry."
Ronan couldn't just tell him that Caelen was investigated for attempted murder, as it would drift them apart.
"Okay, I might have acted on impulse. Still, stay away from him. You understand me, right?" Ronan said in a soft voice, looking at Shael.
"Yeah, I will be careful." Shael couldn't get angry about it as he knew that Alphas are usually possessive.
Ronan started the car to Shael's apartment. Shael was still looking at him, trying to understand his emotions as his face reflected them obviously.
