Chapter 12 - New life

Village entrance M.C P.O.V

Rose came running towards us, "Brother, the eggs!" she yelled as she came to my side. I was about to ask her what she meant, but she just grabbed me with her psychic power and ran again. Ikaika followed her as she dragged me to the area where the eggs are kept. I had Rose look after the eggs because Ikaika had said that they were close to hatching, and I did not want them to hatch in the poke balls. They must be hatching, which is why Rose is acting like this. Rose had been like a doting older sister when it came to them after I asked her to look after them for the time I would be training. It had been funny; I had only known her for a week, but I trusted her like she had always been a part of my life. That had freaked me out; I had thought that she had been messing with my mind. I asked Ikaika about it, and he told me that she was not doing anything, that it was in my head.

We had passed through the village at high speed; we flew past the budlings and came to a large open area with a small hut. Rose placed me down in front of the hut and pushed me in, not even giving me a chance to question what was happening. I saw the two eggs sitting in the corner, shaking. I wanted to rush to their side, but I stood there waiting for the eggs to hatch. I stood there waiting, holding my breath, not wanting to miss the moment that they hatched.

The big one was shaking so fast that it pushed the smaller one away; it almost fell over before I ran over to hold it from doing so. Moving the smaller one away from the bigger one in case the bigger one falls over again. After pushing the egg out of reach for the bigger one, I sat down holding the bigger egg. I knew this one was going to be the first to hatch, and I could just tell he was going to be a troublemaker. The energy he has before he was even born, plus how big he could end up being, meant he was going to be a handful. The egg shook again in my grasp as if to agree with my thoughts. "You little," I said to the egg. Man, I was not the best with kids back in my old life; I hope I can do better in this one.

The smaller egg seemed to have read my worries and somehow rolled itself to my side to comfort me. I smiled at that; hopefully, she doesn't end up being like her brother, I thought as I patted the egg as a thank you. I turned my attention back to the big egg, seeing that it was shaking even more. I patted it as well to calm it down. The smaller one, seeing this, shook even more, causing me to have to pat it instead. Man, these two are going to be a handful. I now knew for sure that they are going to be difficult children.

The big egg started to shake faster and faster as time went on. I just waited, holding on to it with bated breath. The time seemed to stand still and run at the same time, and I watched it trying to break out and come into the world. I'm not sure how much time has passed as the egg started to glow white, the light so intense that I almost dropped it. The egg cracked open from the top as the light died down, and a small dark blue claw broke out. After the first claw broke out, another one came soon after, then a small head followed. After the egg broke, and I was able to see the Pokémon fully, I knew the Pokémon because it was my favorite from my last life. The Bagon struggled to stand with a large head and a small body. I held it upright so I could get a good look at him; he was a reptilian Pokémon vaguely resembling a Pachycephalosaurus. He possesses a large, round snout, triangular eyes, yellow, circular ears similar to reptiles, and a yellow lower jaw with two teeth protruding upwards. Three thick, gray ridges cover the top of its head and continue downwards to cover its neck as well. There is a triangular patch of yellow on its underside. He has stubby, digit-less arms and short legs with two toes on each foot.

He was just a little smaller than the egg, standing at around 2 1/2 feet; he was also round and looked like he had a beer belly. Not being able to help myself, I bopped him, not liking it; he tried to push my hand away. But being a newborn, he was too weak, but he looked so cute that I picked him up and began to blow on his belly. Not liking that even more, he tried to push my head away, but his arms being too weak could not do anything to me. Seeing that he had enough, I put him on my lap and took out a milk bottle from my bag. I had gotten it ready for when the eggs hatched. Seeing the bottle, Bagon tried to take it out of my hands, but his hands still being too weak, he relented so I could feed him. Tilting his head up with his mouth open, I held the bottle to his lips and let him drink at his own pace. I smiled at him as the perfect name for him came to my mind. "Ur," I said, seeing if he liked it. The Bagon looked up at me with eyes too intelligent for a baby, seeming to understand what I was asking. I took the bottle away from him so he could answer; he looked at me for a second, then roared. The roar had no words attached to it, maybe because he was young and was unable to speak like other Pokémon. But I was able to understand it; he wanted to know what it meant. I smiled, "It was the name of the strongest and largest dragon in another world; he once said that other dragons are just scales that fell off him," I said.

He seemed to like that, understanding the power that name held. Ur may not be from this world, but he was good; his name carried weight. The Bagon looked at me and nodded, understanding that he would have a lot to live up to. I hugged him and placed him back on my lap as both then turned to the other egg. It was shaking faster and faster as it was about to glow white; the light was not as intense as Ur's. The egg did not break like Ur's from the top but perfectly down the middle, not like a crack but like someone had cut it open with a sword. The egg fell into two halves, and the Pokémon stood to the world for the first time.

The dragon is a small blue quadrupedal Pokémon with black fur covering its head and neck, concealing everything but its mouth from view. The fur around its neck also has six purple spots encircling it, which resemble bruises. The hair on the top of its head takes the shape of a single small horn. It also has a short tail that appears to be bitten off; not sure how I tell, but I knew it was she. Seeing me, it ran over and jumped into my lap, trying to push her brother off; the siblings began to fight it out on my lap. The younger one being smaller than her brother was losing and was about to be kicked off. I grabbed her before she fell and got a good look at her; she was about 2 feet tall. She was also a lot lighter than her brother; not sure about their actual weight, but she felt about half her brother's weight.

Her head was so small and cute that she looked even more like a baby than her brother; not being able to help myself, I pulled her into me for a hug. She didn't fight me like her brother; giving her a small kiss on her head, I got another bottle for her and began to feed her. Ur getting jealous tried to steal the bottle from me. I bopped him on the head to get him to calm down; he did not like it but made no attempt to steal from his sister again. I looked at my new Pokémon, trying to think of a name for her; the one I had before was for a boy, so I didn't have one for her. I began to think about her species and what I was able to learn about them from Ikaika. Her final form would have three heads; maybe something with three in it. But then it hit me; I waited until she was done with her food and then lifted her head to mine. "Tiamat," I said; she looked at me, seeing that she was also asking for what the word meant. "The name came from a powerful five-headed dragon; she was the most powerful female dragon to ever live," I told her.

She looked in thought and then jumped at me, taking her into my arms and giving her a hug; I assumed she liked it. I put her down next to Ur so they could both look at me. "Alright, now that both wait here while I get some people for you to meet," I said. Keeping an eye on them, I went to the door and opened it; I saw that Metal and Braveheart had joined Rose. I asked them to come in; the three of us followed me to the twins. Ur wasted no time trying to ram Metal, and Tiamat circled around Braveheart, yelping like a puppy. Metal just let Ur ram into him, knowing that he could not hurt him; seeing this, Ur became even angrier and tried to ram him again. Wanting him to calm down, I picked him up and turned to Braveheart and Tiamat. Tiamat seemed to have won her over easily as Braveheart was giving her head pats. Smiling at that, I gave them a minute and then took Tiamat into my lap alongside Ur and sat down in front of the other three.

After sitting down, giving both the twins head pats to keep them calm, mostly Ur because Tia was a model child. After everyone formed a semicircle around me, "Alright, these are some people I want you to meet," I said to get the twins' attention. "This is Metal, your older brother," I said, pointing to Metal, who raised his hand; the two seemed to understand, so I moved on to the others. "This is Braveheart, your oldest sister," I said, pointing to her; she also raised her hand. Seeing that they understood, I moved on. "This is Rose; she is your sister, but she is not a dragon, so be nice to her," I said, and Rose nodded. Tia seemed to like her because she leapt out happy yelps towards her, and Ur looked indifferently to her. Hopefully, he grows out of that, I thought, "and finally, I am your eldest brother," I said; they both looked at me and roared. They seemed to be asking for my name just when I was about to tell them I did not have one. I felt something click in my mind, like I should have known it all along, but it was hiding from me. I should freak out or something, but the name felt right, so I just said, "Dracule, that's my name." The twins just nodded, but the others looked at me in confusion; I just smiled at them, letting them know I decided that was going to be my name. Metal was the first to react by nodding to me and smiling, letting me know he was happy for me, followed by Braveheart, then Rose. I smiled to call them. For better or for worse, they are my new family, and this is how they would know me from now on.
