Svetislav spawned on a main street. Far right was a gate that seemed to lead outside of the city; on his right were a turn, a few other paths sprouting before that turn.
He took off towards the left. After all, why would he leave town as of now?
Slight turn left, slight turn right and he was crossing over a bridge which stood above a river that seemed to be cutting through the city.
The atmosphere so far was nice: warm sun, gentle breeze, people talking, birds singing, the flowers were blooming.
A deep breath, everything is alright, God be with me.
Uncertainty shouldn't intimidate you.
He continued forwards towards a building which was surrounded, yet separated by a clearing; well not that much, there were still stands. He looked at the building, people with strange attires came in and out.
Having a suspicion, he went to one of the vendors, before asking. "Hello, uh, can i ask what's this building about?"
"Are you new here? That's the Adventurer's guild, those people slay monsters and stuff, pay is good."
"Uhuh, thanks."
"No problem."
With that Svetislav marched on, entering the building. Looking forward: the skeleton of what seemed to be a giant dragon, maybe? Around it were stairs which lead to a second floor.
To his left, it looked like some restaurant, a pub most likely; to his right, a board with many sheets of paper on it, describing some monsters, and a bit further down that way a desk. He went to ask the girl at the desk about where he could start doing adventure-y stuff, because he isn't sure how the system works.
"Hello, can I ask where I start working as an adventurer?"
"You are at the right place. Also if you want to register as an adventurer, you would need to pay a five hundred Eris registration fee."
Instantly he switched the question.
"Can you give me job options that would give me enough money to not starve and also pay my registration fee?"
"Why, of course. There is need for people to help build the wall that surround this town. They pay well: five thousand Eris. Does that sound fitting for you?"
"Anything works, as of now. So yeah. Thanks."
"You are welcome. Have a great day."
"Thanks, you too."
"Thank you."
And with that Svetislav left off towards the wall, asking a few locals for directions when he gets lost.
Soon enough he reached the building site, where he instantly asked for the one who is leading this entire operation.
After finding him he says the following: "Ey, I want a job."
"Is your body fully functional?"
"Yes."
"Then you are hired."
And so Svetislav slipped into the process, immediately realizing that this is more tough than any job he has done in the Original world.
He stretched for a bit, consistency was key, but not when you haven't worked out for weeks. It's nice that he is holding his physique, but it would have been better if he had more might when it came to carrying heavy stuff.
After a hard day of work, he received his pay. Before heading off a boy with brown hair and green eyes approached him, alongside him was a blue haired woman.
"Yo, you don't seem to be from around here."
"Yeah, what about it?"
"Reincarnated?"
"Yeah? No way for those people to manufacture such clothing."
Svetislav pinched his shirt for a second.
"I'm Kazuma, by the way."
"Svetislav."
They shook hands.
"You don't look Japanese."
"That's because i ain't."
With that they began talking a bit about themselves, walking back into town.
Svetislav got a good amount of information, because of Kazuma, like the public bathhouse, places where one can sleep and so on and so forth.
The blue haired girl tried to introduce herself as some goddess named Aqua, but Svetislav gave her a weird look and said: "I have only one God." The last word held the most weight in that simple statement.
They continued on, stopping by to clean themselves in the public bath.
"The fuck is this, Rome?" - Svetislav joked, as he saw it. But actually, most countries have public baths, even his own, or at least, used to.
And so after a bit of talking nonsense they get out the water, and off towards the guild, where Svetislav was met by the shouts of many people. He didn't like loud places. Reminds him off pubs back in his own country.
He ordered himself food and some beer, but not much - just enough to celebrate and to get hydrated, because he did sweat a lot.
Aqua got drunk... the supposedly holy person got drunk...
While Kazuma and Aqua were celebrating with everyone else, for whatever reason, Svetislav decided to pack up and leave, not that there is anything to pack up except pocket change.
He wandered around quietly, finding a comfortable enough corner.
He sat down and rested as much as he can, the buildings protected him from the harsh cold night winds. He prayed that he won't get a cold, rolling up into a ball to preserve heat.
"I chose this..." He murmured to himself, closing his eyes and attempting to sleep.
But as much as he tried he failed, it didn't feel safe enough, not warm enough, yet he still tried.
Soon gentle footsteps were heard, he opened his eyes very slightly, so it's hard to tell if they are closed or not, and simply watched.
The person stopped before him, crouched down, and handed him a coin pouch. The person looked feminine enough, with what seemed to be silver hair, but with blurry vision in the dark it was very difficult to say the exact color. She placed the coin pouch gently next to his hand, before leaving as fast as she came.
The experience was quite humbling, his ego failed to react to the kindness she gave him... He didn't feel angry for being pitied, he didn't feel too prideful to decline, he checked how much she gave one thousand and five hundred Eris.
"Enough for a proper meal." - Svetislav said, counting if he would have enough to pay the registration fee. And the answer is: he would... Barely scraping, but worst case scenario would be him having to work again at the construction site.
"Maybe it's not that bad." - He thought to himself, as he relaxed a bit more.
But sleep time would be postponed, because another person passed by, but this one didn't have the same kindness as the other one.
The person cast a spell and suddenly the coin pouch vanished from between Svetislav and the wall. The thief then tried to run away, but Svetislav quickly jumped, grabbing his cloak. - "Stealing from the 'homeless'... that's pretty low, if you ask me."
He tried to draw his dagger, but before he could fully do so Svetivlav knocked his ass out with a haymaker to the side of the head, straight down towards the stone.
"Sorry, but I'm not the one to pick on." - Svetislav said, taking the cloak and dagger as 'compromise', before pushing him to the corner he himself rested in.
He threw the cloak over himself and ran off with two new items that would make his survival easier.
"Am i justified? Maybe not... I will return those when i have enough to support myself." - He promised himself.
And so Svetislav found a new corner, further away, one which would suit his idea better, he rolled into a ball, wrapping the cloak around himself to give the illusion that he is a sack of potatoes. Because it won't be nice if someone tries to steal from him again. So better to fit in, a plain old sack of potatoes.
Don't mind me.
He imagined someone just passing him by without a clue that he is a person. That was how he thought it would go.
And so he proceeded to sleep, in an attempt to have a good rest.
