Ivy's POV
"Dad." I barged into his office and dropped unceremoniously into a chair across from his desk.
He glanced up from his phone call, raising one finger to ask for patience. "Yes, James. She will be returning within the month. But if she decides to relocate permanently, you cannot deny her request." He paused, his eyes meeting mine. "I understand your concerns about her potentially being your son's mate, but if that proves incorrect, you can't block her again." Another pause. "I'm pleased we've reached an understanding. Thank you, James. I'll see you at the Alpha summit."
After hanging up, his expression softened. "Come on in, Ivy. What can I do for you?"
I couldn't help smiling. "Dad. What was that about?"
"Just ensuring you have options if you decide to return here or stay." His smile was mischievous – my father, always the troublemaker alpha. "What has you bursting into my office like this?"
