Chapter 69: Teeth in the Dark
Levius's eyes widened when Nyxmaris stepped...
His violet eyes looked like a predator's, merciless. Levius gripped his sword tighter, but Nyxmaris could already smell that Levius was afraid of him.
"You look pale, prince," Nyxmaris stretched his hand. "Didn't expect the sea to follow you this far into your little woods?"
Levius straightened his back, though his hands trembled slightly around the hilt. "You shouldn't be here. You're trespassing on human land."
Nyxmaris just moved his head, clearly amused. "Human land? Tell me, Levius, do you own these trees? These shadows? Or do you only own the lies you choke on?"
Levius's nostrils flared. "I could cut you down where you stand."
"Hahahah!" Nyxmaris laughed, pretending to be unbothered. "Try it. I'll enjoy ripping the blade from your hands before I feed you to the soil."
