There was a singing of the sea, gently against the cliff…such a rhythm that might have been peaceful to anyone else. But for Nadeira, mornings never felt safe...
Yet, when her eyes opened, the first thing she saw was her mate.
Nyxmaris was sitting in the chair beside her bed, his tall body slumped slightly. His arms were crossed, but the rise and fall of his chest was calm.
He was asleep…beautifully asleep…at one point, Nadeira thought that he looked like a princess instead of a prince…but Nyxmaris had a small scar under his eye, proving he was far from being feminine.
She blinked, surprised by him sleeping next to her. For all his words and ruthless edges, he looked… softer like this.
Nadeira pushed herself up slowly, rubbing her eyes.
Her knees buckled, and gravity almost took over forcing her to fall down…
"Strange…" The mark on her skin wasn't burning as it usually did.
