Chapter 300 - Tony is Dumbfounded: The Most Twisted Mutant, Even the Bible Copied Him!

There was just one thing.

The relationship between Apocalypse, the X-Men, and Magneto seemed unusually complicated.

The diary clearly stated that Apocalypse had amplified the powers of both Magneto and Professor X!

Magneto, of course, was the sworn enemy of Professor X and the X-Men, having battled them for a lifetime. He was a dangerous and radical villain.

And Professor X?

Undeniably a hero.

That Apocalypse would enhance the abilities of mutants from both opposing factions left the onlookers utterly bewildered.

After all, Professor X and the X-Men had united to fight Apocalypse!

By all accounts, Apocalypse seemed to have pulled off something truly monumental.

But what exactly that was remained beyond Tony's current speculation.

However, was it Apocalypse's amplification that transformed the Iron King into Magneto, enabling him to control the Earth's magnetic field and become a true powerhouse?

It seemed highly probable.

"Mutants existed tens of thousands of years ago?"

Charles, reading another diary, was equally stunned.

Mutants only truly surfaced during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Before that, the very concept of mutants was virtually unknown.

Before Charles found the young Erik, Erik had always believed he was the only Mutant in existence.

Even the Cuban Missile Crisis was met with skepticism by many.

This was because there was no concrete evidence to confirm the existence of Mutants like Magneto and Professor X.

It wasn't until later, when more and more Mutants began to emerge, that this group gradually came into public view.

In the common understanding of both ordinary people and Mutants, the emergence of Mutants was believed to be a 21st-century phenomenon.

Yet the diary revealed that Mutants had been born tens of thousands of years ago.

This was something even Charles, a Mutant expert, had never known.

*Not only that, but Apocalypse has always been accompanied by four disciples.*

*And these four disciples are known as the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse!*

*Haha, this is interesting. I wonder if Apocalypse copied the Bible, or if the Bible copied Apocalypse?*

*But I must say, Apocalypse's judgment in choosing followers is truly terrible.*

*After sleeping for thousands of years and finally making his move, two of the Four Horsemen betrayed him at the critical moment.*

*If Magneto and Storm hadn't switched sides, the X-Men would have been annihilated.*

*They wouldn't have even lived to see the Phoenix's power erupt.*

The Four Horsemen of Apocalypse?

Tony couldn't help but grumble inwardly. *This Apocalypse guy is practically plagiarizing the Bible outright.*

*I wonder if he's paying royalties?*

*W-what the hell?*

Tony froze, his mind reeling. *What is this diary saying?*

*It's not necessarily Apocalypse copying the Bible—maybe the Bible copied Apocalypse!*

The playboy instinctively wanted to dismiss it as absurd, but the words caught in his throat. After all, Apocalypse was an ancient monster who had lived for tens of thousands of years.

*Jehovah was just one of his names.*

Given this background, the idea that the Bible might have copied Apocalypse... it wasn't entirely impossible if you really thought about it.

*That Apocalypse guy is truly over the top.*

*It's just a shame that such an over-the-top guy ultimately fell to Phoenix.*

"Magneto and Storm are actually among the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse?"

As he read further, a look of astonishment spread across the playboy's face.

*Magneto makes sense. He's a confirmed supervillain, so joining Apocalypse's ranks is plausible.*

*Even though the diary hasn't explicitly stated Apocalypse's alignment, since he waged war against the X-Men and was defeated by Phoenix, Tony naturally assumed he was a supervillain.*

*A major villain joining another major villain? Nothing surprising there.*

But Storm... isn't she one of the X-Men?

Alright, even though I don't know why Storm joined Apocalypse's side, didn't she switch sides at a critical moment?

Even Magneto switched sides.

This surprised Tony again.

Apocalypse was at war with the X-Men.

If Magneto switched sides, didn't that mean he was now allied with the X-Men against Apocalypse?

Add to that the fight against Sentinels fifty years later and the "Days of Future Past" plan mentioned in the diary.

Magneto, the X-Men's lifelong nemesis, had actually fought alongside them multiple times!

But this time was different. Magneto's defection wasn't against ordinary humans, but against his own kind—fellow Mutants.

This made Tony extremely curious.

What had Apocalypse been doing during his thousand-year slumber to unite Mutants from opposing factions against him?

Moreover, the description of his thousand-year sleep was packed with implications.

Why had Apocalypse slept for so long?

Was it due to a severe injury, self-induced hibernation, or something else entirely?

"Apocalypse is still asleep."

"And in the near future, he will awaken!"

Charles, standing before another diary, reached this conclusion after a long period of contemplation.

The conclusion wasn't difficult to draw.

Based on the diary's various spoilers, the truth was already quite clear.

Erik's sudden surge in power, transforming from the Iron King into Magneto, must be because he became one of Apocalypse's Horsemen!

Otherwise, why would Apocalypse have helped him?

And what did Erik do after becoming the true Magneto?

He controlled the Earth's magnetic field and nearly destroyed human civilization!

Previously, Charles had subconsciously assumed this was Erik's revenge against humanity for the murder of his wife and daughters.

But now, another possibility seemed to emerge.

Perhaps this was all due to Apocalypse's orders.

Of course, this couldn't be confirmed. But another fact, Charles felt, was almost certain.

The diary had previously mentioned that Erik's transformation from Iron King to Magneto occurred after he went into hiding in Poland and his wife and daughters were killed.

And when did he go into hiding in Poland?

After the failed Days of Future Past plot!

In other words, Erik encountered Apocalypse at that time.

Whatever Apocalypse's true intentions were at the time, his awakening during that period seemed certain.

Charles grew increasingly certain of this.

After organizing his thoughts, Charles refocused on the diary, hoping for further spoilers.

But just like last time, the diary abruptly stopped without any warning.

After a moment's contemplation, Charles closed the diary interface and fell into deep thought.

What was he pondering?

Naturally, his next course of action.

If he hadn't known, it wouldn't have mattered. But since he knew what kind of trouble Erik would cause during this operation, Charles naturally needed to prepare accordingly.

"Everything okay?"

Wolverine's voice rang out.

Beneath his wild exterior, the more sensitive Uncle Wolf had noticed Charles seemed somewhat troubled and asked.

"I'm fine," Charles shook his head, unable to resist glancing at Wolverine.

The key to controlling his own abilities lay with Wolverine!

A certain idea in Charles's mind grew increasingly firm.

The rest of the journey was silent. After about half an hour, the Blackbird Fighter landed on the grounds of Xavier's Mansion.

The group disembarked from the fighter jet, strolling through the vast courtyard.

"This is a little different than I imagined," Erik remarked casually, taking in his surroundings. "I heard you converted this place into a school. Why don't I see any students?"

The mention of the school cast a shadow over Charles's face.

"The school is already closed," Hank explained vaguely, offering no further details.

Seeing this, Erik wisely chose not to press the matter.

He followed Charles and Hank into a spacious room—the very same one he and the others had stayed in before.

"At least this hasn't changed," Erik said with a shrug.

"You can rest in your old room. It's still the same, but you'll need to tidy it up yourself," Charles said casually, before retreating to his own quarters.

"Great, I could definitely use a good rest," Erik replied without ceremony. After a brief greeting to the group, he left with practiced ease.

"Logan, can I talk to you?"

After Erik's figure disappeared, Charles called Wolverine over to him.

"Sure," Wolverine replied without hesitation, his trust in Charles unwavering.

"Based on experience, Hank's serum will fail in about fifteen minutes. When that happens, my abilities will return."

"No, it's not a return. It's more like an emergence."

"I don't know what version of me you're familiar with, but I'm definitely not that person anymore."

"So, I need your help."

Meeting Wolverine's gaze, Charles paused briefly before speaking with solemn sincerity.

Wolverine wasn't surprised. After all, fifty years in the future, the elderly Charles had entrusted him with a crucial mission: to guide and mentor the younger Charles.

Wolverine was well aware of the severe psychological issues plaguing this version of Charles.

"I'll do everything I can," Wolverine answered immediately, but without much confidence. Guiding people wasn't exactly his strong suit.

"Listen, when the time comes, I'll need to delve into your memories."

Charles wasted no time in explaining his plan.

"I thought you already trusted me," Wolverine said, taken aback. He had assumed Charles was going to test his authenticity.

"No, I'm not scanning your memories because of you. I'm doing it for me."

"I need to find another version of me in your memories!"

"More accurately, I need his help!"

Charles elaborated on his plan.

Wolverine's eyes lit up. "As expected of you, Charles!"

*Right.*

He, Wolverine, couldn't pull this off, but Charles himself absolutely could. This was his specialty.

In fact, if Charles's body could withstand it, he would have been the ideal candidate for this time-travel mission.

So, what now?

The future Charles couldn't come here, but the past Charles could go there.

It was the same thing.

*As expected of Charles, so clever!*

"I can't use my abilities perfectly right now, and it might cause some damage to your brain."

After a brief pause, Charles still warned Wolverine, "But I'm sure that won't be a problem for you."

The diary had mentioned it: Wolverine's healing factor was so monstrously powerful that he could withstand a nuclear blast.

"That's right, I've endured every kind of pain imaginable," Wolverine said confidently, unwavering in this regard.

After discussing business, they began to chat casually, the conversation drifting aimlessly but the atmosphere remaining pleasant.

Before long, however, Charles, who had been sitting calmly, suddenly swayed, his face contorting in agony.

Wolverine immediately knew that, just as Charles had warned, the drug had worn off, and his abilities had returned.

The cacophony of voices was now inflicting immense mental torment on Charles, relentlessly tormenting his mind.

"Hey, Charles, are you okay?" Wolverine asked, immediately supporting him with a concerned expression.

"I... I don't know," Charles rasped, enduring the mental anguish as he reached out a trembling hand toward Wolverine. "Are you ready?"

"Let's do this. I've been ready for a long time," Wolverine replied, leaning closer to Charles.

Charles took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and placed his fingers on Wolverine's head, activating his telepathic abilities.

In an instant, all of Wolverine's memories flooded Charles's mind, laid bare before him.

*This guy... he's been through hell, hasn't he?*

Charles was stunned.

Wolverine was truly a pitiful soul, through and through.

Of course, Charles had no habit of prying into others' privacy. He didn't linger on Wolverine's memories for entertainment. Instead, he swiftly skimmed past irrelevant scenes, focusing on memories of his own future.

*Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.*

Relevant images flashed before Charles's eyes like a flickering zoetrope.

Finally, one crucial scene froze in his mind.

Charles realized his consciousness had entered a peculiar world. Like a ghost, he could see everything in that world—not just Wolverine's memories.

Figures flickered before his eyes, people he didn't recognize now.

But without a doubt, they were all members of the X-Men.
