Even the previously clear timelines had become blurred, as if a black hole had swallowed them all. The future had become utterly uncertain, even to the Ancient One.
"What… is that power?" she murmured, her voice heavy with concern.
In her centuries of existence, she had never encountered such a thing.
But soon, she relaxed. No matter how powerful this force was, it was far beyond her reach. Such matters were for higher beings to handle.
Her job was simple: guard Earth, keep Dormammu and other threats at bay, and leave the rest to fate.
In fact, this lack of omniscience was almost refreshing. At least life wasn't so boring anymore.
Just like the secret meeting between Nick Fury and Tony Stark earlier—who knew what major players in this world might do next?
For the first time in her life, the Ancient One was no longer all-seeing.
And as she suspected, it was easy to guess what the important figures—the main protagonists—of the Marvel world were doing.
"I can do this… I will do this!"

Thor, after a month of rigorous training, once again stood before his hammer.
By his side were a lively Captain America and Black Widow.
As Nick Fury had arranged, Black Widow had stayed at the base during this time, acting as Thor's "Earth guide."
After all, Thor was from Asgard. A newcomer needed guidance to understand Earth customs—just like in the original movie.
Remember Jane Foster taking Thor out to eat? Thor was delighted with the drink, then accidentally smashed the cup. Comedy ensued.
So an Earth guide was necessary, both emotionally and practically.
Hence Fury assigned Black Widow to Thor—no one suspected a thing. Not Cap, not Thor himself.
Black Widow, of course, executed Fury's orders flawlessly, subtly showcasing her charm and even imitating Jane Foster's gestures at times.
Unfortunately…
After a month, Thor showed no romantic interest in her.
Understandable—he was a prince of Asgard! A man of such status had surely seen countless goddesses and beauties; no mere mortal could easily captivate him.
Still, Black Widow was puzzled. Jane Foster didn't seem particularly extraordinary—why did she attract Thor? Was it just his type? That made things complicated.
"Thor, don't put too much pressure on yourself," said Captain America, interrupting her thoughts.
Black Widow refocused on Thor, who took a deep breath and grasped his hammer once more.
"I can do this!"
He exerted all his strength… but the hammer remained immovable, as heavy as ever.
"Of course… it's like this again," Thor sighed wryly.
He had expected this; after a month, he still hadn't figured out the key to lifting the hammer.
From afar in Asgard, Heimdall watched and shook his head. Since Thor's exile to Midgard, Heimdall had monitored him constantly. Every attempt, every failure, Heimdall had seen it all.
And yet, there was no point worrying. His task was simple: keep an eye on Thor for Odin. Odin already knew the situation and intended no changes—the goal was for Thor to grow.
Indeed, Thor had matured somewhat.
"Natasha, can you tell me about Rogers' story?"
After another failed attempt, Thor, humbling himself, asked Black Widow to recount Captain America's tale.
"Yes. Wait a moment—I'll make you a cup of coffee. It's a long story," she said, smiling gracefully.
Captain America's life was legendary, even for someone like Thor. Though physically weaker, his story was one of sacrifice, heroism, and extraordinary resilience—remarkable even in Asgard.
"To save New York… he chose self-sacrifice?"
Thor pondered deeply, comparing himself to Captain America, beginning to grasp something profound.
Black Widow noticed the change. Thor seemed to understand something this time. She reported the development to Nick Fury immediately.
"Has Thor finally figured something out?" Fury frowned.
Black Widow's efforts to woo Thor had yielded nothing. The only positive: Thor and Cap got along well, having fought together. Fury had even arranged missions to strengthen their bond.
But his ultimate goal—to make Black Widow a 'female Thor'—remained unfulfilled.
Meanwhile, Hawkeye had made unusual progress.
"Sir, I've discovered something about Peggy Carter," Barton reported. "She's been hiding, changed her name, living quietly in Brooklyn. She's not alone."
He placed a photo in front of Fury.
Fury, with his one eye, squinted. The image showed a frail, white-haired old man.
???
Fury blinked. Something about the man looked familiar. Could it be…?
Barton revealed the truth: "This is Harrison Heymer, Peggy Carter's husband. The identity was fake. But DNA analysis proves… he's Captain America."
It was real.
The old man in the photo was indeed Captain America. The legendary young hero had aged—white hair, frail body. Fury was stunned.
So the diary entries were correct: a future Captain America had traveled back to make amends with Peggy.
Yet why appear during the Battle of New York at such an old age?
"Sir, what is happening?" Barton asked. "Why are there two Captain Americas in our world—one so old?"
Fury revealed the truth: "This Cap is from the future."
Hawkeye was skeptical—time travel? Impossible… yet the evidence was undeniable.
Even Thor's presence made it plausible.
"So the old Cap came all the way from the future just to reunite with Peggy Carter?" Barton murmured.
"Yes. Keep an eye on him, but don't alert him," Fury ordered.
"Understood, sir," Barton replied.
Fury then arranged his remaining matters and secretly investigated the elderly Captain America.
One week later, with all information in hand, Fury decided it was time to visit this other Captain America.
