Of course—
All of this was merely Tony Stark's own analysis, nothing more.
Why didn't the purple potato freak personally take action to seize the stone, but instead tricked Loki into doing it?The real reason behind that wasn't mentioned anywhere in the diary.
Those theories about him being wary of Odin or the Ancient One—those were just the diary owner Zhou Cheng's own guesses. There was never a definite answer!
But regardless, since the Cosmic Cube—no, to be precise, the Space Stone—was this important, then strengthening its defenses could never be wrong.
Whether Loki returned or not, whether the Battle of New York would still happen or not,the most important thing was to make absolutely sure that the Space Stone would never be stolen! That was the top priority.
[Unfortunately, Odin is already very old. He probably won't live for many more years before dying of old age.][As for the Ancient One, that person who's lived for who knows how long, she's already tired of living. Once she found her successor, she willingly died.][Otherwise, in all the Earth—no, even in the entire universe—who could possibly kill the Ancient One?][That traitor from Kamar-Taj? Don't make me laugh!][The Ancient One simply wanted to follow Eternity!][If she had found her successor earlier, she probably would've "logged off" long ago.]
Died of old age!
So Odin actually died of old age?
Tony Stark couldn't help but be surprised by that answer.
When the diary first mentioned Odin's death, the playboy had wondered—for someone as powerful as Odin, who could possibly have killed him?
Was it the purple potato with multiple stones—or all six?
Or some even stronger existence?
Whoever it was must have been an unimaginably powerful being.
But now Tony finally knew:no one killed Odin—Odin simply died of old age.
Tony couldn't help but feel emotional. All things eventually perish. Even a god-king like Odin couldn't escape the cycle of life and death.
Then what about the so-called Eternity, the Creator God?
That being was said to stand far above Odin himself—bearing the name "Eternity."Could it truly exist eternally, never dying?
And then there was Dormammu, the dimensional demon mentioned before—a being that transcended time itself!
If he was beyond time, didn't that mean he also couldn't die?
Unfortunately, no one could give Tony an answer to these questions.
After muttering to himself, he kept reading the diary, and once again, surprise flashed across his face.
So—the Ancient One wasn't killed either. She simply didn't want to live anymore!
The only reason she had been "forcing" herself to stay alive all this timewas because she hadn't found a successor.
Damn it!
Tony was speechless—did this woman actually think her life was too long or something?
Just how many years had the Ancient One lived!?
Of course, Tony didn't know the exact number, but once again, the Ancient One's strength and otherworldly level were on full display.
Looking across the universe, who could possibly kill the Ancient One?
Didn't that mean she was one of the absolute top-tier beings in the entire cosmos?
And that wasn't even the most unbelievable part—the most shocking thing was that the Ancient One was actually connected to Eternity?
Eternity— the Creator God!
So the Ancient One was actually under the protection of the Creator God?!
"Hiss…" Tony couldn't help but suck in a sharp breath.
So this was the Ancient One's level?Truly beyond anything ordinary people could imagine.
Her background was utterly insane!
But one thing puzzled him—why would "following Eternity" mean she had to die?
Judging from the diary's tone, the "death" here didn't seem to mean a fake death…But surely it wasn't a real death either?
After all, if she truly died, how could she follow Eternity? Was it in soul form—or some other way?
After owning the diary for so long, Tony's view of death had already changed somewhat.
At the very least, he now knew that souls existed, and that after the body's death, the soul could continue to exist in another form.
For example, the Valhalla of Asgard—a place where brave warriors who died in battle went after death.
So was the Ancient One's "death" something similar?
Was that why she deliberately allowed herself to be killed by that Kamar-Taj traitor?
"Father… died of old age?"
In front of another diary, Thor's tense heart finally relaxed a little.
After seeing so many diary spoilers come true, he had been growing increasingly anxious. After all, the diary said that apart from himself, his entire family would die!
And just now, it had revealed that Loki would die—strangled to death by that "purple potato" monster mentioned several times.
He still didn't know when or how that battle would happen, but Thor had already made up his mind: he must stop the purple potato!
He had no clear plan yet, but at least he now knew who the culprit was—and that was something.
As for the deaths of his father and mother, the diary had never mentioned them, leaving Thor worried sick.
Now, finally, the diary had revealed this crucial piece of information.
Thor let out a long sigh of relief.
His father hadn't been murdered—he had simply passed away peacefully.
Thinking about it, it made sense. For someone of Odin's level, who could possibly be his opponent in the entire universe?
Who could kill him?
That Zhou Cheng really was something—why couldn't he just say it clearly earlier and spare me all this worry?
But soon, Thor's newly relaxed expression tightened again.
Odin dying peacefully was good news—but Odin not having long left to live was undoubtedly bad news.
"No… It can't be.""It can't be like this!"
Thor shook his head again and again, unable—and unwilling—to accept it.
Yet, at the same time, all the little details he had ignored over the years began surfacing in his mind.
Odin's behavior had indeed changed in recent years. He looked visibly older. And, truth be told, he had lived for a very long time already.
But still… dying of old age within a few years?Impossible!
Absolutely impossible!
Thor roared inwardly, his eyes glued to the diary, desperate for more information.
Unfortunately, just when things reached this critical point, the diary suddenly stopped updating—without warning, cutting off completely.
Thor was so frustrated he could hardly breathe—but there was nothing he could do.
"No, I have to return to Asgard immediately!"
He shot to his feet, a sense of urgency flooding his entire being.
He wanted nothing more than to rush to Odin's side at once, to check on his father himself.
And beyond that—
He couldn't just sit back and watch Loki destroy Jotunheim!Vandal and the others didn't know anything, and Loki was always cunning—those few friends of his were no match for him!
Thor had to go back personally.
The only problem was…he still couldn't lift his hammer.
Of course, the diary had already explained how to lift it:
He had to prove his worthiness—show flawless moral character.
But how was he supposed to do that? With Thor's level of intellect, there was no way he could figure that out anytime soon.
Even so, he couldn't just sit there doing nothing.
Without delay, he rushed to his hammer again for another attempt.
The result, unsurprisingly, was the same—the hammer remained as heavy as a mountain, utterly immovable.
"Father, why are you doing this to me?"
Thor felt truly defeated. Was there something wrong with his morals? No!
He, Thor, had fought countless battles for the peace and safety of the Nine Realms. He had crushed countless rebels and villains.
How could there be any flaw in his character?
Was it because he'd argued with his father, even called him an old fool?
But he already knew he was wrong!
Then why still…?!
Thor grew even more anxious—he was desperate to return to Asgard and stop Loki! But what he didn't know was that—even if he could lift the hammer—he still wouldn't be able to return.
Asgard — the Bifrost Bridge
Clang! Clang! Bang! Bang! The crisp sound of clashing metal rang again and again, mixed with the whoosh of weapons and fists.
A group of fully armed Asgardian soldiers were surrounding five people.
Who were they?
The Warriors Three, Lady Sif, and Heimdall!
The Warriors Three needed no introduction. Those four had secretly descended to Midgard, planning to bring Thor back and dethrone Loki. They'd even helped the man who lifted Mjolnir defeat the Destroyer—ruining Loki's plans completely.
Naturally, Loki wouldn't let that go.
As for Heimdall—Loki had long since fallen out with him, even freezing him with the Casket of Ancient Wintersso that Laufey and the Frost Giants could sneak into Asgard in secret.
But Heimdall was truly formidable.Even after being frozen, he managed to break free, kill the Frost Giant guards at the bridge, and send the Warriors Three back to Asgard.
In the original timeline, Thor had returned with them—so they could turn the situation around.
But now?
Only the Warriors Three had returned, and they could barely make any difference to the larger situation.
They hadn't even made it off the Bifrost before Loki intercepted them with his forces.
Indeed, they were strong—but even the strongest warriors could not stand against an army.
Heimdall, badly wounded, could no longer fight, leaving everything to the others. They held out for a short while, but inevitably fell and were captured.
"Well, well… the famous Warriors Three and Lady Sif,"Loki said, walking forward with that trademark sinister smile."Oh, and of course, the legendary Heimdall—the man my father always respected so deeply."
"To throw people like you into prison—I must say, it's truly… amusing."
"Loki! Even if you seized the throne through trickery, you'll never win the hearts of Asgard's people!""Thor will return sooner or later!"
The fiery-tempered Lady Sif glared at him furiously.
"No," Loki replied calmly, "before long, I will be a king loved by all.""By then, no one will remember Thor.Everyone will only sing praises of my great deeds."
"You'll see for yourselves."
His voice was full of absolute confidence.
"Loki, King Odin may be in danger! Asgard may be in danger!""Yes, I don't like you—but this isn't about you or me.It's about all of Asgard. Please, take this seriously!"
Vandal, more rational than the others, repeated Thor's warning sternly.
Loki's expression shifted slightly.Could Vandal actually know something?
According to his own plan, Asgard would indeed soon be in danger—and his beloved father Odin as well!
But time was already running short. His plan was about to begin.Though suspicious, Loki had no time to question them now.
He would deal with them after his grand plan succeeded.
"Take them away. Lock them up."
Without hesitation, Loki issued the order coldly.
"Loki! I'm not lying! You must believe me!""Loki!"
Vandal shouted after him, but Loki's image flickered—and vanished into thin air.
That's right.
The "Loki" they saw wasn't real at all—just a magical projection.
As for the real Loki?
He was already hiding in Odin's chambers.
He had planned to stage a fake "Laufey assassination attempt,"not to actually let Odin die.
So after letting Laufey in, he stayed hidden nearby, watching carefully to make sure things went according to plan.
Just moments ago, while he had the others captured,Laufey had already snuck inside—and even injured his mother, Frigga.
Everything was unfolding exactly as he had planned.
