Tears running down her eyes but smiles were beaming on her face. While Casandra wept, Selestine was filled with joy. Herself together with everyone else in the room except Cassandra responded to my proposal with a very loud Yes. I rose to my feet, drew her closer to myself and kissed her. As my lips moved along hers, the screams from Cassandra crying saturated the room. In unison we both screamed at her; "why the hell are you still here". She hurriedly rushed out the house and we all burst into laughter.
I got to pay her back in the most painful way possible. I wanted her to feel my pain and heart break when she left me. It was the sweetest way to close the Cassandra chapter. I was hurt though, I thought Cassandra was my soul mate, my ride or die, my forever. All our years together I never got eyes for another woman. I loved her beyond love itself. But in the middle of my crisis I got redeemed. Her leaving me saved from making the worst mistake of my life; getting married to her.
After proposing to Selestine on December 7th, 2019, both families met, the pre-wedding rituals were done, and on the 27th of December 2019, we tied the knot. I know what you are thinking: "that was quick", sure it was. But when you meet the right person you don't place value on how long; because you know she is the one and you are ready to make her yours.
Amid my chaos, I found comfort. The moment when I felt all was lost, I found my precious diamond.
The wedding was the most exquisite of all events.
The year 2019 ended on a good note. I was a free man, my account and assets unfrozen, almost a million Ghana cedis in compensation and most importantly had Selestine for a wife.
I was however unemployed. Austin and Austin wanted me back. They wanted me to finish the years left on my contract but I got a court ruling to nullify the remaining years left on the contract.
During our honeymoon month in January 2021.. I had 3 enticing offers already waiting for me to make a decision on.
There were all very attractive and enticing offers however I was in no rush to get back to the corporate world.
Selestine had the month of January to herself as paid leave and we intended to spend every single day of it together.
2021 started just how I wanted it.
