"Did you know that your father is the second greatest sword master of the clan of the Ancients and the Humans?" she announced with a smile.
So I replied:
"I didn't know he was that powerful in the art of the sword. Ahhh… So that's why he's so strong whenever he trains me."
To be honest, I had suspected he was hiding something from me. But I never would have thought he was that strong. That means my family is somewhat part of the nobility. So, I asked Aruna about this. She answered:
"Yes and no. Your father didn't want to be part of it, and neither did your mother."
"What? My mother too? She's also part of the nobility?" I asked, surprised.
She told me I had to find out by my own means.
The next morning at dawn, Aruna got up and started packing her things, which woke me up since we were sleeping in the same room—there was no guest room. And when I sat up, she suddenly jumped on my bed and shouted:
"Go back to sleep!!!"
Frightened, I obeyed and lay back down. A few minutes later, she began changing her clothes while staring straight at me. Embarrassed, I turned away so I wouldn't look at her. Then she ran to the other side so that I would face her, but I turned away again. So she decided to create doubles of herself using chronological magic (since there are two ways to create clones—through chronological or cosmic magic). Once again, I turned my gaze, this time staring at the wall above me. And just like before, she jumped on me, covered my mouth, and kissed me…
At that exact moment, my father and mother walked in. They saw a ten-year-old girl (or thirteen, since she had used chronological magic during training) kissing a seven-and-a-half-year-old boy (my birthday is in January and it was September, so you could also say I was ten).
Awkwardly, they pretended not to notice and said:
"Your carriage has arrived, Aruna. Hurry up, finish packing your things and whatever you two were doing."
After that, my parents closed the door. I seized the chance to escape and started running around the room like crazy, trying to get away from Aruna. But she didn't stop. And just when I thought I was safe, she leapt on me for the third time and whispered:
"Do you want more? Hhh…"
It was very disturbing, but also a little funny. And I found it funny because she was supposed to be my future wife.
An hour later, Aruna hurried into the carriage and waved us goodbye. My parents looked a bit sad, but me—I was crying like a baby.
Then my mother said to me:
"Did you know she's your cousin? Yes, your father has a brother."
So, from what I understood, I could visit her whenever I wanted. Besides, she told me she lived in the center of Midway. Actually, it wasn't far at all—just 3 days by carriage. But by using Wind Magic and the Air Flight spell, I could get there in less than an hour.
