Chapter 9 - My first friend and my future wife

Then, days passed until the master mage finally arrived. She turned out to be a girl, just as I had hoped, and she was only ten years old... At ten, a master mage? How is that even possible? She's almost my age. That's exactly what I told her, but she replied:

"Respect your elders. Besides, I can feel that you know nothing about magic. And for your information, I'm one of the strongest mages in the kingdom."

She truly believed I knew nothing about magic. But honestly, I was shocked at how powerful she was. After introducing herself, she told me her name was Aruna, and I told her mine. That's when we began the first lesson. Nothing too special at first—I simply had to tell her what elements I possessed and what skills I had.

"So, what are your skills?" she asked impatiently.

"To be honest, they're of lower rank, none of them above rank S. But I do have Quick Assassination (rank C), Physical Enhancement (rank A), and God's Power (rank F)," I answered, a bit proudly.

"Quick Assassination is one of the greatest assassination skills—actually, the very best. And Physical Enhancement allows us to boost human abilities like running, jumping, or climbing. But what's that last one?" she asked curiously.

"God's Power."

"What??!! God's Power? That's impossible. That means you can control every type and element of magic without any problem, and not only that—it evolves. So you can do anything. But how could such a thing be only rank F? Maybe there's an error in the spell, or it hasn't reached its full potential yet?"

Huh… What? Controlling all elements? That's never been mentioned in any of the books…

Then she told me it was a skill that almost didn't exist, because it was a sign… But a sign of what? What signs? Of what exactly? She said it was a secret. After that, we continued the session, but I was deeply intrigued. What are those signs? What do they mean? What exactly do they define? I hope I'll understand one day, but for now I have to focus on magic.

The next day, we began the lessons again. That day was dedicated to elemental magic. As the hours passed, I was able to master the lower-level spells with ease. So, we decided to move on to something more difficult. Even though we limited the training time, I ended up spending five full days with Aruna, training and practicing advanced magic, and even testing one or two demonic-level spells. It was very satisfying.

Then, on the seventh day, we moved on to chronological magic. It was so incredibly difficult that I trapped myself inside a time loop to train for three whole years. And it worked—within just a single day, I managed to go from basic magic all the way to demonic-level magic. You might think it was easy—but don't be mistaken. If I had made even the slightest mistake, I'd have been done for, unable to escape. A time loop means picking a moment of any duration and repeating it infinitely—it can drive you insane, especially for three long years.

During the last week, we studied cosmic and ecliptic magic using books, since Aruna didn't possess either of those types, while I did. The training was extremely difficult, especially in practice. Because of that, our garden was completely destroyed. Those last five days were brutal, but it was destiny—we couldn't do anything about it.

One day, she asked me:

"What's your problem? Why do you never want to go outside? Why don't you know anyone?"

It was true… even though I could manipulate conversations thanks to my psychological skills, the real problem was that I didn't know how to communicate properly. So I told her I had social issues. When she heard that, she hugged me and said:

"If one day we get married, I'll tell you the secret. But don't worry, I'm not waiting for death."

Those were the sweetest words anyone had ever said to me—words from someone other than my parents. But I didn't understand the last part. All I could say was:

"WAIT FOR ME!!"

The day before she left, she told me:

"Did you know that your father is …
