Quick Assassination, Rank C; Type: Augmentation Skill
It's a bit lame, since nothing goes beyond Rank A, but it doesn't really matter because both Physical Enhancement and Quick Assassination are not the strongest skills, yet they are the best when it comes to assassination. As for the skill "Power of a God", which is Rank F, it's useless for now because its rank is very low, and I don't even know what it truly is.
Still, despite these weak-ranked skills, I can improve them. I just need to kill monsters and absorb their mana sources so that my power can feed and grow stronger. For that, however, I'd need to kill at least hundreds even thousands of monsters to evolve one of my skills by two ranks. But that's not a problem.
What intrigues me, though, is how to find out the type of magic I can use. Even though "Power of a God" is classified as a magic-type skill, it doesn't tell me what kind of magic I can actually use. Well, I guess I'll find out later.
"If you're done, get out! You'll find your parents outside!" announced the examiner.
Following his words, I walked out, and as expected, I found my parents waiting for me.
"So, how was the trial? Difficult, easy, or just average? Tell us everything!" my father asked, impatient to know what had happened.
I told them everything, and they were very proud of me. After that, we returned to the inn to grab our belongings and left Okto to head back home. But along the way, we faced a slight… surprise.
Like on the way here, we followed a long but relatively safe path to minimize the chances of encountering any major monsters.
After five days of traveling, we spotted a Dark Wolf. Then my father said:
"Hey, Henray! What do you say to taking down this wolf by yourself, to see what you're really capable of?"
"With pleasure. I'll take it down quickly and easily!!" I replied calmly.
With confidence, I leapt off the carriage and then…

A surge of water erupted from my hand, so powerful that the wolf was sliced clean in half.
"Wow, incredible!! Excellent spell—it's a high-rank one, and you managed to use it even better than me!" my father praised me.
"But I was already using it before my awakening," I said proudly.
"Huuuuh?! Impossible…" my father nearly fainted in shock.
"Honestly, what surprises me even more is that he was able to use such a spell even before awakening…" my mother added in disbelief.
After that incident, we continued our journey. On the tenth night, we finally arrived home. After unpacking our things, we all went to sleep.
The next morning, my mother entered my room to tell me something.
"So, we've realized your extraordinary potential, and your father and I have decided to invite someone special to our home so you can train in magic," she announced cheerfully.
Someone special? Who could it be? What? Why?
When I asked her about it, she replied that it was a secret. But I'm sure it must be a master mage. Though honestly… what I hope most is that it's a girl.
