9:00 pm , the wall clock's sound resonated in the silence of the night. The chime seemed to grow louder by each passing second.
Huffing and panting sounds threw colour in the blank canvas of quietude. A man gripped his family as the mother put her hand on the mouth of her child. They seemed to be extremely terrified of something. The something was a large and towering shadow looming on over the window with it's red eyes slowly coming into view.
The shattered pieces of glass flew in towards the family as the woman lunged towards the girl shielding the blow.
The man was jerked around by the creature as it grabbed his remains.
The towering withered and skeletal humanoid creature made a sickening crunching sound from it's mouth.The ghastly red eyes glowed with a sign of life as blood poured down from the jaws as the creature screamed in ecstasy and delight.
The woman gasped for air as blood trickled down her mouth.She looked around in haste hoping to see her daughter.
"Mommy..?"
A faint voice rang out by her side as the woman looked around. The girl was by the side of the bed as she looked in pain.
"Sweetie...!"
The woman grabbed the girl's cheeks as she checked if her daughter was okay.
A sharp pain suddenly shot up the woman's body as if she got pierced by something. A steel rod went through her stomach as blood poured down.
She knew she was definitely going to die so she grabbed the daughter and put her in the cupboard.
She took her last breath as her body slumped lifelessly on the floor.

The view of the city was devastating as streaks of fire spread across the city. Towering figures treaded across the land scape causing destruction in their path. Smoke rose through buildings as shadowy figures flew through the sky.
Jeb looked at the scene with dread and shock. His body went numb from disbelief as his world went into disarray.
Just a few hours ago, the city seemed lively and peaceful. Children coming home from school, teenagers going on a date, fans cheering for their team on the stadium.
But, now everything had changed.
He started up his car and drove towards the city.
Tears trickled down Jeb's eyes as he drove towards his home . He had one thing going on his head, Is my family okay ?
His car broke down on the way as he jerked the handle and got out. He ran and ran for a long time.
He reached his crumbling and destroyed house and went inside. He ran upstairs and what scene lay before him stopped him dead in his track. His breathing grew fast and his world started to spin. His mother's corpse laid lifeless before him. His heart thump loudly as he dropped to his knees.
"Mommy, can I come out?"
A voice pulled him back to reality. It's Amy!! Jeb thought as he looked for the source of the sound.
He opened the cupboard and hugged his sister tightly as tears couldn't stop.
"Jeb?, is that you?!"
Amy shouted joyfully.
I must get me and Amy out of here before those creatures get here.
Jeb thought while he took his sister into his arms.
He bolted outside the premise . The door slam caused the creatures to be notified of their presence.
A sharp and a piercing shriek tore through the air-keen as a blade and loud enough to rattle bones. The sound was capable of drilling into the skull. The sound sent shivers down Jeb's spine as he halted to a freezing stop.
He slowly turned around and saw the towering creature lunging towards him with it's jaws open as saliva slid from it's mouth in a glittering strand.
Jeb reached out his hand in desperation as his subconscious went into adrenaline mode.
A small ring tattoo glowed blue on his palm as something incredible happened.
The fabric of space ripped apart as a crack formed. Another part of the world could be seen through it. The sound of a ripple resonated through the surroundings. The creature was pulled into the crack violently as
pieces of flesh and blood splattered all over.
"AAAGH!!!!"
Jeb screamed as great pain shot up his back.
It was as if thousands of swords pierced him.
His body trembled violently as he coughed up blood.
