JAY's POV
Keifer came back after about ten minutes.
Keifer: we have informed everyone about the situation and they r currently on there way home.
Jay: that's good. Where r Aries and percy?
Keifer: ella was a bit scared so Aries went with her and percy went with Felix and the others to make sure they reach safely.
Jay: why didn't u go to your brothers?
Keifer: I talked to them on call. They told me to stay here with u and that they will take care of themselves. They basically threatened me not to leave your side and to come visit them with u.
I chuckled.
He looked and Aya who was sitting on the couch opposite to me.
Keifer: can u leave us for a bit.
She looked at me and I nodded.
Aya: I'll be right outside if u need anything.
Then she left.
Keifer sat on the chair beside me.
Keifer: u have changed a lot. I never knew this side of u. Why didn't u just tell me. Do u think that poorly if me😔
I took his hand in mine and made him look at me.
Jay: I really wanted to tell u about this but I was just scared of how u would react. I never wanted this to happen. I just wanted to keep u and the others safe like u did to me and to give u some peace and freedom.
Keifer: u don't have do to any of that, u just have to be next to me. I never wanted u to do anything for me Jay.
Jay: and I didn't either. But when I got to know about the things u did for me, I knew I had to do everything I could to protect u.
His brows furrowed in confusion.
Keifer: what do u mean?
Jay: I know Keifer. I know how u begged kuya for me, what u did to mykel after knowing what he did to me, about your engagement with kuya's first love Ion which was set by keigan. I know everything Keifer. My gagongbaliw💘
He froze.
Keifer: how do u know all of that Jay?
Jay: the former head of the league.... my godfather told me. And as for the gagongbaliw part, from the way u texted me it wasn't hard to figure out it was u.
Keifer: your godfather?
Jay: it's a long story. I'll explain everything once I get discharged. Just wait a little longer.
Keifer: fine. Can u at least tell me about that mason And your other old friends.
Jay: r u jealous?
Keifer: ofc I am. U guys seem close. Especially that mason guy.
I cupped his cheeks.
Jay: u have nothing to worry about. Mason is like my big brother. He took care of me when no one did. He was the one who got me in the league and protected me from my step dads. As for the rest, Aya is a sister I never had. She was my bestie and still is, we r just not as close as we use to be. Alex and Mateo r my close friends. We five were the dream team of the league. We always had each other's back whenever needed. We were like family to each other.
Keifer: then what made u grow apart.
Jay: something that I will tell u later. Once we reach the main base, I will answer all of yours and the others questions, ok.
Keifer: ok.
Then I kissed him on the forehead.
Jay: now go get me something to eat. I haven't eaten for so long now. But don't get my hospital food. I can't eat that stuff anymore.
He chuckled.
Keifer: fine. I'll be back in a few minutes. Till then just rest.
While he was gone Aya came in the room again.
Aya: I just got a message from mason. Keigan and keiren have reached safely and so has half of the others. Some r still on there way.
Jay: that's good. Keep me updated about them. And have u got any news about Kaizer or Yuri.
Aya: none for now. We have searched half the city and put all the local gang on alert already. We'll find them soon enough.
Jay: ok. And is the security in place.
Aya: yeah and they have already checked the perimeter. No need to worry, u just rest for now.
Jay: ik. Have u talked to the doctor about me being discharged yet?
Aya: yeah, he said that u r healing quickly. U just have to stay one more day for observation. If they say that u r fine to leave then u can be discharged by tomorrow evening. It's a good thing u didn't get shot somewhere really serious or it could have gotten out of hand.
Jay: I already knew that. That's why I shifted myself at the last moment to get hit somewhere less serious.
Aya: why didn't u back away in time.
Jay: it was to late for that. So I just made sure I didn't get hit at any major nerves.
After a while keifer came back and Aya excused herself to leave us alone.
Keifer: here my queen. I brought u some toast, coffee and a pastry from your favourite cafe.
Jay: thank u so much😍
Keifer: ofc anything for u.
Jay: u didn't get anything to eat.
Keifer: no, I am not that hungry right now.
Jay: nonsense. U have to eat. Here, eat with me.
Keifer: whatever u say, wifey😏
Jay( blushing ): stop saying things like that and eat.
I said shoving a piece of toast in his mouth.
Keifer( muffled): ok ok fine.
Jay: btw, I'll be discharged by tomorrow evening. So we'll be able to meet everyone tomorrow and u can finally get your explanation.
Keifer: r u sure, u'll be ok by then. U don't need to force yourself,Jay. Just rest up and recover first.
Jay: u don't need to worry Keifer. I'll be fine. I didn't get hurt anywhere too serious. I'll recover quickly by tomorrow. Besides, it's not safe to stay here for long. Kaizer and Yuri don't know about the league's base so we'll be safe there.
Keifer: as u say Jay. I'm sorry for putting u through all of this Jay.
Jay: u don't need to be. I choose to stand by u. And I choose to be in this fight to protect everyone, to protect us. We'll be fine.
