JAY's POV
I woke up to the sound of my annoying alarm buzzing. It was already 8 am. My head was still hurting from all the partying and drinking.
I looked around to find that I was alone in the room. Keifer must have woken up early and decided to let me sleep.
I got up and went to the bathroom to freshen up. I went downstairs to find keifer and have breakfast.
He was sitting on one of the kitchen chairs, busy eating his breakfast while scrolling on his phone.
Jay: good morning.
Keifer: good morning to u too. Come join me for breakfast.
He stood up and brought out my breakfast which was already ready and some coffee as well.
I sat on the seat opposite to him and started eating my food.
Keifer: Jay, your kuya is coming over for lunch.
I almost chucked on my coffee.
Jay: what? Why?
Keifer: he just wants to see how u r doing here and he said he has something to talk about. He will be here around 2 pm.
Jay: ok.
Keifer: come on, eat fast , we have to study for our exam tomorrow.
I groaned. Why do we have to study. I already have a hangover, my brain might actually explode if I study.
Jay: can't we just do it in the evening. I am still a little hungover. I just want to eat and rest for now.
Keifer: your kuya will kill us both if he finds out that u r not studying and that u went out to party yesterday even when danger is still around.
That's what he thinks but he doesn't know that the league has already surrounded the house and is keeping tabs on our enemies.
Jay: fine but let rest for like and hour first. Pleaseeeeee☹🙏
Keifer: fine. But only one hour. Then we have to start studying.
I knew he couldn't resist my pouty face😏
We both finished our breakfast in a few minutes.
Keifer: so, what do u want to do.
Jay: I want to lie down for a while. This headache is killing me.
Keifer: ok, have some aspirin and then rest for a while.
Jay: ok.
He gave me aspirin and I took it. Then went upstairs and laid down on the bed.
Keifer also came in and laid down beside me.
Jay: why r u here? Don't u have to study.
Keifer( smirking ): nah, I can study later and still ace the exam. I'd rather be here with u.
Jay: stop with the teasing and just let me rest.
Keifer: fine.
Then he hugged me.
Jay: what r u doing.
Keifer( innocently ): sleeping beside u😊
I just sighed and let him be. I have enough energy to fight right now. We both drifted off to sleep quickly.
Keifer: Jay, wake up.
Jay: hmmm, let me sleep.
Keifer: Jay, it's already 12 pm. If u sleep any longer then Angelo will personally drag u out from bed while pulling your ear.
Jay: ugh, fine.
Keifer: how r u feeling now.
Jay: a little sleepy but much better.
Keifer: good, now go freshen up so we can start studying.
Jay: fine.
I quickly freshened up and went to study on keifer's study table.
He pulled up a chair beside me and explained the concepts and questions to me.
Why does it have to be maths exam. Why couldn't it be english exam. But no, english had to be the first exam and now the worst subjects r left, ready to kill me mentally.
We finally took a break when kuya came over for lunch and to discuss something.
Kuya was already waiting for us at the dining table. I went up to him to greet him and hug him. Ngl, I kinda missed him.
Keifer also great him and we all sat down to eat.
Foooooddddd🤤.
I am so hungry right now. I could probably eat an entire buffet.
Kuya: so jay, how is your studies going.
Jay: it's going well kuya. Keifer has been helping me review.
Kuya looked at keifer and he just nodded in agreement.
Kuya: and how has it been living here?
Jay: it's fine. I miss everyone a bit but Kiefer and his brother's r always there for me and make me fell like home.
Keifer: yes, we all r happy to have Jay here with us. Everyday is fun when she's around. My brothers really like her having her here and so do I.
Kuya: that's good.
We finished our meal with a bit of talking and then moved to the living room.
Keifer and I sat side by side on the couch while kuya sat infront of us.
We stayed silent for a few minutes, then I decided to break the silence.
Jay: kuya, is everything ok? Keifer told me u wanted to talk about something. What is it?
He took a deep breath before answering.
Kuya: as u both know that me, Aries, ma'am Cindy and sir alvin have been keeping an eye on yuri.
We nodded.
Kuya: well, we just found out that keifer is not his only target. U r also his target Jay.
Kiefer: WHAT?
I already knew about that but I still had to act shocked after hearing that.
Kuya: it turns out that yuri and the hanamitchi clan made the hit list together and yuri has to complete the list in order to earn back his position as their clan's leader and get his mother back.
Keifer: but why would he make Jay a target?
Kuya: it wasn't really his choice. He only gave your, Jason, ram and Sara's name. The clan gave some other names and the current leader added Jay to the list because he felt disrespected by her. The whole clan got shamed because of yuri's decision to set up that marriage.
Keifer feel deep in thought after that. I could see the rage building up in him. I held his hand tightly to calm him down. He turned to me and his eyes softened immediately, he held my hand even tighter.
Kuya cleared his throat to get our attention and continued.
Kuya: for now u both need to keep your distance from yuri but don't make him suspicious. We don't know what he is planning.
We nodded.
Kuya: Jay, their is something u need to know.
Jay: what is it?
Kuya: the thing is, me and Keifer r in an elite gang whuch has recently changed it's head. It seems the new leader knows about our situation because I just found out that the head has put some extra security around this house.
I already knew all of that. After all, I was the new leader and I was the one who told one of my trusted member to give that news to kuya so that he and Keifer won't get suspicious after seeing them here.
Kuya snapped his fingers in front of me to snap me out of my thoughts.
Kuya: I know it's a lot to process but trust me u will be safer this way. And that that's clear we need to be more careful with what we do next. We don't know who will make the next move and when. We can't be left vulnerable. We don't even know how many enemies we have. We need to be prepared.
We nodded in agreement.
Then we talked about other topics and long story short, kuya finally approved of our relationship. Then we said our goodbyes and he left.
