Ivy
I pulled open the door ready to crash on to my coach
when I noticed it.
Right in the corner of the room, a muddy footprint
laid there, one that wasn't mine and surely not of anyone I knew.
I looked around, getting into a defensive mood as I
moved towards the print.
My eyes widened as soon as I set eyes on it. It was
just a cat. I rolled my eyes moving back to the couch when something caught my
eyes on the counter.
It was a letter.
I blinked. My mind went wild with imaginations,
either ways I opened it. Only to see an acceptance letter to a school I never
applied for.
I scoffed.
Thinking it was just a joke as I dropped it on the
table. My mind immediately drifted towards the possible danger in this place. I
had to leave this place soon. It wasn't safe but then again, I paused.
The words I had ignored ringing in my mind. 'Come or
else your secret will be out.'
I sprinted back to the table, grabbing the letter in
hopes I saw it wrong but nope, there it was, written in bold letters. My heart
raced.
My secret?
The one I tried to bury for years. How could…how
could anyone know about it?
My mind raced with questions but I couldn't find any
answers to them. I paused, relaxing on the chair, my mind a mess.
An academy?
Didn't sound like a bad idea, but being in one place
for a long period wasn't something I did.
And even so, they found me. Who were they? And what
do they want?
I couldn't help but wonder, fidgeting helplessly as
I stared at the letter. Finally, I sighed, snatching the letter off the desk as
I walked away.
If this was why they wanted it then I would give it
to them. Anything but to risk my secret.

My eyes scanned the surroundings as my hand
tightened onto the suitcase, the numerous students running through the
hallways.
The smug look on their faces sent chills down my
spine.
The high level bullying left me numb as I stared
blankly. This? Was the school? I scoffed looking around to see if there was
something I was missing but nothing.
It was exactly as it seemed. THAT BAD!
I rolled my eyes, taking a deep breath in as I
braced myself, ready to keep my head down and not attract any attention as I
lived through my days but that seemed impossible.
Students kept bumping into me, some lowering their
head as a form of apology as they walked away while the others looked back like
they were expecting an apology from me.
I shook my head after another hit me with no
apology.
This was really a set of rich kids, spoilt ones at
that. I tried my best not to ruin my mood as I continued on my way but a huge
body hit me.
He left me staggering as I held to my bag for
balance. After regaining my composure, I turned my eyes back sharp, ready to
scream but I smiled.
I took a breath in yet again and held on tighter to
my bag. I had to keep my cool. I turned wanting to leave when he called me
back.
"Aren't you going to apologize?" He asked, leaving
me marveled with shock.
Me? Apologize? What a joke?
I scoffed, moving forward as I tried to ignore his
call behind me. "Didn't you hear me? I told you to apologise!"
He screamed, probably expecting me to tremble in
fear but I didn't pay him any attention, I continued moving according to the
map I had previously studied hoping to get to the female dormitory quicker.
"I apologized!" His voice came yet again but this
time he was standing in front.
His body stood before me. I had to admit, he had the
build. But sadly for him, he didn't scare me one bit.
I lowered my head, trying not to curse at me as I
moved away but he stood head strong.
"I'm talking to you." He spoke, raising a hand to me
ready to attack but his hand stopped mid air. I stared on, seeing a girl the
same age as me holding his hand tightly.
"I'm sorry, she doesn't know the rules. She's new
here." the girl spoke, her voice as soft and gentle as she looked.
I stared at her, amazed that she could hold him
down, even more amazed that she knew I was new. Maybe…she was with those who
forced me here.
"And so what. She still needs to apologise, how dare
she stand in my way?"
He roared, his voice echoing through the walls. It
was obvious that he was annoyed.
"She will. She will." The lady said hurriedly as she
moved towards me as I shook my head. I appreciated her help but she was wrong
about one thing. I wouldn't apologise.
She nudged me, her eyes pleasing for me to apologise
but I stood tall, not willing to comply.
"You're taking time, I don't have all day." He
spoke, his voice disgustingly annoying to my ears.
I wanted to leap at him at that moment, maybe
silence him in case he said anything, but her calm voice came through again.
"I'm sorry, okay? I apologise on her behalf." She
said but he snarled obviously not ready to give in.
That's when I got ready, my hands balled into a fist
ready to fight a man on my first day here but a bell saved me.
On hearing the ring, he turned his voice hoarse as
he spoke. "Consider the bell that saved you." He ran off as soon as he said
that, leaving me stunned. To think, all these rich and entitled kids followed
the rules.
It was stunning.
I stared on, still questioning his actions when her
voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
"What were you thinking?" She asked, her voice now
cold, not like the gentle one I remembered.
She looked damn serious.
