Lucian's hand quickly grabs Nova by the face, releasing enough poisonous gas into her nostrils to damage her organs. Nova tries to use her lightning on Lucian, but his poison is faster than her ability to react.
Panic filled her eyes as she noticed Lucian's cold eyes and the cruel smile on his lip that told her that he had won and there was nothing she could do about it.
"Where are you taking her, you bastard?" Thorin asked from afar; he was too preoccupied by the little beast that bit harshly at his skin. No matter how many he smashed to death with his strength, they didn't reduce in numbers.
The color that had drained out of Nova's rosy cheeks made Thorin worried for her. Other than that, he hated seeing Nova and Lucian together; she was his crush but had never looked at him in any special way, and now that he was the hero, he felt like he had a chance. He hated how Nova wasted her time in school to confess to Lucian, who rejected her. If he was the one she had confessed her love to, he would have accepted her, and they would be perfect together.
Lucian ignored Thorin and continued dragging Nova's weak body along with him.
Luna landed a slap on Nova's face, unable to contain the anger and hatred she had been carrying in her heart since the day Nova left them to die.
"So you aren't dead yet?" Nova let out a bloody spit from her split lips.
Luna was about to hit Nova again but stopped after seeing the look on Lucian's face. "She is all yours." She glared at Nova.
"Let's get out of here first." Lucian said, "I don't want Thorin and his team to rescue this bitch when they're done. Our original plan was to go against them, but with those little monsters doing the job for us, there is no need for us to stress ourselves." He eyed Nova, who examined him with a strange look on her face. "Besides, we have got what we came for."
Luna and Lucian took Nova to a place they had labeled as their secret hideout in the dungeon; it was safe until a monster showed up.
"What did you do to yourself?" Nova asked Lucian, not realizing the situation she was in. "Why do you have the essence of the beast, Achiloq?"
'I have what?' Lucian thought, frowning at Nova, a bit annoyed that she knew something he didn't because of her damned system. Lucian had a question of his own, a confirmation.
"Lucian doesn't have any." Luna was about to defend Lucian but suddenly stopped and decided to do a check on him with her system after discovering that Nova was right and her trashy system hadn't informed her all along about this. She understood why the little flying monster hadn't attacked Lucian; because of the monster essence, they saw him as the beast Achiloq.
"You are the villain Thorin is supposed to kill, aren't you?" Lucian asks Nova to be sure.
"I don't know what you are talking about." Nova lied nervously. She wasn't tied up, but her poisoned body couldn't move.
'I don't know what they plan, but there is no way they actually intend to kill me.' Nova thought. 'I know Lucian; he is a good guy. There is no way a guy like him would take away a human life.'
Lucian sighed, "I am not even surprised about your lame pretense. Well, it doesn't change anything." He took the sword at his side and aimed it at Nova.
"Aren't you going to stop him?" Nova shouted at Luna as she helplessly tried her best to move away from Lucian. "You think that Lucian can be trusted?!" She shouted weakly, "If he kills me today, one day he's going to raise his sword against you too."
Lucian stabs Nova in the gut; the sharp sword tears her skin and comes out through her back. Lucian kept his eyes on her pain-filled expression and watched the blood pouring out of her mouth with a sick satisfaction. It was the first time for him to feel this way, and he loved it. Somehow it made him feel like a psychopath, but he quickly discarded the thought as he struck Nova again, without caring about how badly he had wounded her in the first strike. The reason he used a sword instead of his poisonous ability was because he wanted Nova to have a painful death; he wanted to see her bleed with an injury he caused with his own hands.
Luna turned her back away from Lucian, nauseated by the gruesome sight he was enjoying.
What Nova didn't know before her death was that if she had trained herself and focused on growing her skills by leveling up with her system, her body would have been strong enough to withstand Lucian poison. This thought frustrated Zinnia endlessly as she watched the fall of her favorite player from her realm.
'It worked.' Lucian thought in glee as he watched the glitching screen that appeared before him. He has successfully stolen Nova system magic.
"So this is a system." He said out loud, knowing for sure that his system isn't supposed to be glitching constantly as though it were broken.
"No way…" Luna said in disbelief. She had turned around again after hearing him mention the word 'system.'
[Unidentified player; Lucian] The system glitches in vengeance and continues repeatedly like a broken record.
[Status: Villain]
[Villain… not chosen… villain]
The system tries to reboot and fails.
[Race: beast… human… unidentified???]
Lucian tries to control the system but fails; it refuses to accept him, but still, it couldn't stop Lucian from using Nova magic.
The quest popped out and then suddenly disappeared.
[Warning: wrong user]
Lucian ignores the warning and searches for the quest that popped up but was immediately hidden by the system. The quest wasn't his; it belonged to Nova. There was something about one particular question that caught Lucian's attention.
[Who are you?] The system voice trembled.
Lucian's lip pulled in a little side smile. "I'm the new villain of this game."
