Chapter 19 - Chapter 18: S.H.I.E.L.D. Has a Ghost!

The Heavenly Eagle Star, the Balrog Lunie, was a well-known member of the 108 Demon Stars of the Pluto Army. As the keeper of the first prison in hell, he served as the deputy to the esteemed Minos, one of the three great judges. He wielded the book of life and death, managing the fates of souls and judging their sins to deliver rewards and punishments. However, Lunie detested noise and was not a being of absolute justice, despite his duty to maintain balance. Aaron's decision to send him to find the other demon stars was purely because he found Lunie amusing. With his orders received, Lunie vanished from Hell's Kitchen.

At the S.H.I.E.L.D. Trident Base in Manhattan, a blond-haired old man slammed his hand on a table and stood up.

"What! Failed?"

"Yes, we just lost all communication with Colonel Needham," a man replied.

"Damn it!" The old man strode to the window and stared out. After calming himself, he turned and asked, "Fury doesn't know about this?"

"Director Nick Fury doesn't know for the time being, but I don't think we can keep it a secret for long," the man replied, shaking his head.

"Minister Pierce, what should we do next?"

Pierce was in a state of indecision. He had received intel from S.H.I.E.L.D. about a "prophet" and, as a rule, would not let such a person go. They either needed to be under his control or they needed to be dead.

Beep beep! Alert!!

Beep beep! Alert!!

Alert! Alert! Alert!

Suddenly, the sirens blared in the S.H.I.E.L.D. building.

"What's happening?" Pierce demanded, turning around in annoyance. As the head of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s security department, he was responsible for the Manhattan area. If anything went wrong here, he'd be in military court, even with his friendship with Fury.

"I don't know! The alarm went off suddenly!"

"Report! Satellites have not captured any signal! No foreign invasion detected!"

"Report! There are no strange or abnormal reactions in the area!"

But at that moment, an exclamation came from the monitoring room.

"My God! What is that!"

"Is it God? That angelic figure... could it be the Second Coming?"

From his high-rise office, Pierce issued an order. "Switch the monitor to my screen and order all base firepower units to stand by for my command!"

"Yes, Minister Pierce!"

The screen switched, and an image of a shadowy figure in a black robe appeared in the air. This in itself wasn't so unusual, but surrounding the figure were pictures of chubby angels. As these little angels hovered in the sky above S.H.I.E.L.D., Aaron seemed like a descending deity, instilling a great sense of dread in Pierce.

"He's here!" Pierce saw the figure with his own eyes through the window. It was Aaron, the owner of the gallery! A day after he sent his agents and troops to steal a painting, this man had arrived.

No! I can't let anyone know!

In the sky, Aaron was drawing a picture. The majestic building in front of him was the subject, but its coldness held no interest for him. Below, S.H.I.E.L.D. armed forces were clearing the streets.

"Da da..."

"Natasha Romanoff... is this the guy you were talking about?" On the roof, a man with a bow and arrow aimed at Aaron in the sky. He didn't act rashly, waiting for an order.

"Barton, don't move. This person is not simple."

Natasha Romanoff had just relayed Pierce's order via secret communication. Fury's order was to not act rashly. But suddenly, the sound of an armed helicopter filled the sky, and Natasha's face went pale. The ground forces had surrounded Aaron, their weapons aimed at him without exception.

"Person in the air, come down from S.H.I.E.L.D. airspace immediately!" a voice from below commanded. "Otherwise, we will open fire!"

Aaron ignored the threat. Facing the wall of guns aimed at him, his cold voice cut through the air.

"Nick Fury, is this how S.H.I.E.L.D. welcomes guests?"

Natasha Romanoff was stunned! She knew that a man with foresight would know that the director was not here. This could only mean one thing: someone within the bureau had deliberately provoked him!

Just then, a figure slowly walked out of the building—it was the energetic blond old man, Pierce.

"Mr. Aaron, I am Pierce, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Security. Your current actions are a national security threat. I hope you will come down immediately and submit to a S.H.I.E.L.D. investigation!"

Aaron said nothing. A piece of white paper drifted down from the sky. The quick-witted Barton shot an arrow at it, snagging it and bringing it into his hand. A picture slowly appeared on the paper.

"This is!" Barton said, shocked.

"It seems you have a ghost in S.H.I.E.L.D.!" Aaron's voice announced.
