Chapter 24 - Naberius

Even with an intense brightness, darkness lurked.

His body emanated pure light, his blades incandescent.

But still his eyes were a deep black.

Its height is like a majestic statue carved by the hands of lovers.

Made to be worshipped, an image of the divine, the wings remained closed, but its stature could not go unappreciated.

The majestic golem freed after the destruction of the chalice moved calmly, but even so, chaos reigned around it.

The being threw it up high, its daggers became one with the ground, upon opening its mouth a song began, and the inscriptions placed on the metal incandescent, generating an explosion that caught everyone.

Everyone's mind became one, in the center the majestic golem, from its eyes flowed a red color like blood, the bodies of those present bled with the inscriptions placed on them.

Without even realizing it, they faced memories within themselves that, like shackles, prevented them from moving from there. With each painful torment, they felt the metal piercing their flesh, getting closer and closer to their souls.

Candela found herself in the middle of the darkness trying her best to open her eyes, but they didn't want to open, just as she never gave in to her crying that didn't echo.

In desperation, she summoned her Cleaver and stuck it in her chest. She saw her blood flow, but it was soon absorbed by her Cleaver, causing her wounds to heal.

The Candela of the present saw her own image of pain, she clutched her dress tightly, she felt that her knees should meet the ground, but even so she didn't, she looked to the side and noticed Killbit, he had in his eyes not the usual red, but a bright as fire.

"I'm sorry I didn't exist before, I certainly could have made sure you never suffered. So from now on, my claws will serve to destroy everything that hurts you. Sister."

His body was taken over by long black threads, claws grew on his hands in a shape similar to a half moon, his eyes that were previously lost in the darkness became the lantern.

The young man launched himself against that space, his bright claws hit that image of Candela, the darkness coming from it erased that image.

They both returned to the front of the golem, which cracked, revealing an intense light coming from inside.

"The voice in my head won't stop laughing, I will use your insult as a strength for myself, for everyone. It doesn't matter if it comes from Dante."

Candela thought about saying something, but she just ran her hand over her brother's face, she smiled and shook her head.

A repetitive sound spreads, spreads, a mixture of metallic and smooth, of thin and thick, such was the out-of-tune song that came from Vasily's hands.

The same man, with hatred for the disappearance of his beloved, began to cross the entire Leviathan, tying to his arm the map made by his hands and those of his beloved.

Around him were beasts lying, a huge pile of bodies, as well as the faulty devices that served as shelter for him and Sophie on calm nights, where he could imagine himself at the peak of a mountain seeing the beyond of Leviathan.

It didn't matter how many beasts fell, how much energy was spent, everything was recycled by his body, making the hatred overflow beyond the metal, just like magma.

Vasily looked at this memory while bringing Lagrange closer to himself, putting it over his head and getting ready to shoot. He wouldn't die, he would just become a broken device just like the many he liked to make with Sophie.

"This doesn't suit you at all. Your mind can bring a more complex and concise answer than this."

His hand was touched, and when he turned to the side, there was Candela, she had Sophie's smile, but she was certainly not her.

Vasily knew that the amount of pain Candela suffered was greater than his, but he didn't care. The Flamel waves became one in Lagrange's barrel.

"Look at yourself again."

In front of the old Vasily there was a different beast with long, thick hair on its body, with a humanoid shape, its red eyes and half-moon shaped claws.

In an instant, the claws penetrated Vasily's body, absorbing all his energy, making the hatred disappear once and for all.

Soon the three were in front of the Golem, which opened its eyes and took a fighting stance. The light emanating from it lost its brightness, and darkness split it further and further from the cracks.

"What are you waiting for? Let's end this once and for all."

Unlike the others, there were no wounds on Beatriz's body, she maintained a serious expression while her fire sword lost more and more of its shine.

It was easy for Killbit to understand what had happened. She had forced herself out of the golem's control, her body covered in more wounds than usual. Without a groan of pain, she used her sword to close her wounds.

Maybe she did it more often.

Maybe she always did it in secret.

Maybe it was the only thing that was taught to her.

Maybe needing others to lift you up is weakness.

Is the denial of your limits proof of your ascension?

"I know you're more hurt than us, not physically, but in your heart, so please when this fight is over, let us lift you up."

Beatriz advanced without saying a word, her eyes were hidden by the darkness of the golem, Killbit advanced towards the encounter piercing his claws into it.

"Now it's just the two of us against his true form."

A wave of energy erupted, throwing Candela and Vasily away, creating a black space where no one but Beatriz and Killbit were allowed to enter.

"Reveal your true form, demon representative of gluttony!"
