Chapter 124 - Chapter 124: Low-key and Secretive! Cleaning up the Minions is Such a Hassle!

The giant aircraft carrier pierced the atmosphere.

It slowly descended back into chaotic New York City.

But in the middle of the madness, no one even noticed.

Compared to a warship falling from the sky, the rampaging Leviathan beasts were far more terrifying.

Screams, gunfire, and panic filled the city.

New York was shrouded in the shadow of war.

Because Loki had manipulated command, much of the military had been pulled away, leaving New York a bridgehead for the Chitauri invasion.

An exposed bridgehead.

"You guys stupid? Keep being stupid if you want."

Saitama sat in a chair.

Chewing gum he'd somehow found, his dead-fish eyes lazily scanned the bodies lying around.

He was comfortable now.

Those four hundred nukes earlier had skyrocketed his contribution points to a ridiculous number:

19E7000W.

Bruce Banner and Natasha stood by his side, unconscious.

The first to wake was Captain America, Steve.

As a super soldier, his body endured the most.

"Sa… Saitama? Earlier I…"

His face was full of both joy and guilt.

Like a scolded little brother, he crept carefully.

He'd searched for Saitama for years, since their meeting decades ago. He was a die-hard fan.

But now, he'd nearly attacked him.

"Phew… Next time I need to optimize the hydraulics. Lucky you didn't leave me an ice block."

Iron Man lay on the floor, groaning with relief.

Clearly, his mind had cleared.

Soon after, Barton, Fury, Coulson, and others also awoke.

Loki's scepter couldn't control minds forever, especially not so many at once.

And after being terrified by the bald demon king, the mental shock had broken them free.

Even ordinary soldiers gradually recovered.

"This is worse than I thought. New York has fallen completely."

Fury's voice was grim.

The city was crawling with Chitauri and Leviathans.

The heroes, strong as they were, felt powerless.

They could protect themselves, but the whole city?

Impossible.

"Any suggestions?"

Fury asked.

All eyes turned to the bald slacker blowing bubbles.

"Don't look at me… I don't know anything."

Saitama shrugged helplessly.

Stark: "…"

Bruce: "…"

Natasha: "…"

"All right, now isn't the time to talk. Thor's already fighting. Let's move!"

Steve knocked his shield, rallying courage.

"Ah… Sometimes even a low-key guy like me has to shine."

Stark poured himself wine at the console, striking a stylish pose.

"Time to show off the Stark flair."

What, by lying in a metal suit?

Steve frowned.

"Better than someone playing soldier. JARVIS, activate backup plan B."

Stark shot him a look.

Now his goal wasn't competing with Steve—

It was chasing Saitama, this monster.

"Understood, sir. Activating backup plan B."

JARVIS's voice sounded.

Everyone, even Saitama, was stunned.

What was Stark up to now?

Engines roared.

From Stark Tower, panels shifted, revealing hidden machinery.

Dozens of suits launched—unmanned armors modeled after the Mark 3.

Jet flames streaked across the sky.

"Two thousand drones. Not much, but they'll hold. What next? Especially about those guys."

Saitama casually pointed toward the Leviathans.

Everyone froze.

Fury stared at Stark in awe.

This man… truly a genius.

Unlike Steve or Barton, Stark was a commander. He saw the big picture.

Shame he refused S.H.I.E.L.D. recruitment.

If not for Saitama's arrival, Stark might never have built this iron army.

But his pride had been crushed—his suits destroyed too easily.

So, he'd secretly built a workshop run by JARVIS, pouring in fortunes.

Now two thousand Mark 3s and a handful of Mark 4s filled the skies.

Why not more?

Because even for advanced AI, two thousand was JARVIS's limit.

Mark 4s meant fewer.

Simulation tests proved this mix the best.

Saitama sighed.

"Not bad."

"Well done, Stark. I'll handle the fallout afterward."

Fury said sincerely.

Clearly, Stark had his recognition.

"The big ones? Leave them to me."

Bruce grinned.

His body swelled, transforming into Hulk.

"The Tesseract must be closed… Saitama…"

Fury looked over hopefully.

"All right, I'll check it out. Might as well clean up those little monsters inside. What a hassle."

Saitama stood lazily.

With a light jump, the ground cracked as he shot toward the cube.
