With Dr. Erik and many agents guarding the Tesseract, the space tunnel was activated.
With enough scandium added, the tunnel stabilized.
Through the wormhole, the endless starry sea was visible.
And also a terrifying Chitauri beast and countless Chitauri soldiers ready to strike!
Stark Tower.
On the futuristic top platform.
The Trickster Prince Loki stood, gazing over New York City with a triumphant grin.
Like locusts, Chitauri warriors swarmed from the wormhole.
Along with massive Leviathan beasts, towering like skyscrapers.
"Hahahahaha~~ Even if Saitama shows up, what of it? With the Tesseract in my hands, Earth belongs to me—"
Boom!
Before Loki finished, lightning flashed.
He was smashed into the wall, bones aching.
Before him stood Thor!
"Loki! Shut the cube down or I'll destroy it!"
Thor roared with fury.
He had only recently learned Loki still lived, never expecting Earth to fall into an interstellar war.
"You can't stop it! The war is already here—"
Loki sneered.
The Tesseract was one of the six Infinity Stones. Once active, not even Odin could shut it down easily.
War between Earth and the Chitauri was now unstoppable.
And Earth, a mere first-level civilization, could never stand against the Chitauri!
The brothers clashed, lightning exploding around them.
Meanwhile, Chitauri soldiers and Leviathans descended on New York.
The city drowned in terror.
Screams, sirens, collapsing buildings—chaos everywhere.
"Loki!! Damn it! Snap out of it! Come back to Asgard, Loki!!"
Thor bellowed, pinning Loki to the ground.
In sheer strength, Thor truly was second only to Odin!
"Hahahahaha~~"
Loki laughed wildly, ecstatic in revenge.
"Thor, you can't stop me! I am the true king of Asgard! I, Loki, will conquer the universe—"
Boom!
A thunderous explosion.
Blinding light like the sun falling. Eyes could barely open.
Loki's grin froze.
Thor too was stunned.
Everyone—fleeing citizens, invading Chitauri—all turned their heads.
From the wormhole's direction—
The Chitauri stronghold, their command fortress.
Explosions of light erupted.
Mushroom clouds rising.
Over 400 nuclear warheads, enough to scour Earth itself, poured down upon the Chitauri.
Rumble—
The shockwave obliterated their structures.
Countless Chitauri annihilated.
Though powerful, they were far from withstanding nukes.
Loki: "…"
"No, no!! NO—!!"
He screamed in despair.
All his built-up power gone.
He recalled that eerie flash earlier.
It was Saitama. It had to be!
With their army crushed, Chitauri already on Earth collapsed, lifeless.
Leviathans too fell like puppets with cut strings.
But unlike the movie, they weren't all destroyed!
At least half survived!
Far among the stars, in the fractured Chitauri base—
Breeding sources still pulsed.
Unlike Earth, the Chitauri were a matriarchal swarm.
Their warriors and sources were like body and hive.
Given enough resources, they spawned endless soldiers, all born combat-ready.
Even newborns equaled Earth's adults in strength.
Truly, a civilization born for war!
Originally, under Loki's lead, they would have invaded en masse.
But fearing Saitama, the Chitauri leader split their forces, hiding sources across the region.
No way would their whole army fall to one strike.
One nuke couldn't even destroy Earth's civilization.
Though four hundred had hurt them deeply, they were far from annihilated.
As a mid-tier galactic power, they stood above Earth.
"ROAR—LOKI!!"
The Chitauri leader bellowed in rage—never before so furious.
Thanks to Loki's advice, he'd hidden in a special base, escaping destruction.
"Chitauri—CHARGE!!"
His cry echoed with endless hatred.
From hidden sources, swarms of warriors and beasts erupted—
More than before.
"Loki! You've lost, the Chitauri—"
Thor sighed, clutching Loki's collar.
But when he looked up, his words froze.
The sky darkened with even more Chitauri than before.
"Heh heh, Thor, I haven't lost."
Loki laughed, staring upward, toward Saitama's direction.
"Saitama, you bastard! You'll lose! As long as the Tesseract's gate remains, the Chitauri will never stop! Your little civilization cannot resist! Hahahahaha~~~"
