Chapter 99 - Chapter 99: Random Task Appears

The whole of Jotunheim trembled violently.

Mountains of ice shattered!

Desolation echoed with wails!

Endless glaciers condensed into towering walls of black frost!

After nearly a quarter of the realm had been obliterated, Laufey finally rallied the Frost Giants to withstand the light of destruction.

"Odin!! You will pay for this!! The Frost Giants will never forgive Asgard!! War! War! War!! Only blood can wash away our humiliation!!"

His furious roar shook the frozen realm.

First, Odin's arrogant son Thor had barged into Jotunheim, insulting the Frost King's pride.

And now—Asgard had unleashed the light of annihilation itself.

Did they truly think the Frost Giants were nothing but prey?

Even if it meant death, Laufey would see Asgard bleed!

"Advance on Asgard!! For vengeance!!"

"ROAR!!"

With a single command, the blood-eyed Frost Giants surged forward, weapons of ice in hand, marching toward the Rainbow Bridge.

At the Bifrost.

Crowned and robed, Loki stood with the royal scepter in hand, overlooking the collapsing Jotunheim below. His heart surged with twisted triumph.

But then—

The Rainbow Bridge flared.

Figures appeared—Thor and the Warriors Three, with Sif at their side. They had returned.

"Loki! You're insane!! Stop this at once!!"

Thor had intended to lecture him—but when his eyes fell upon the destruction of Jotunheim and the approaching Frost Giant army, his expression darkened.

"You fool! Do you even know what you've done?! You'll doom us all!!"

"Oh? Thor, since when did you become so weak? Is it because of… a woman?"

Something inside Loki cracked. His eyes turned bloodshot.

Thor, once the fiercest advocate for Jotunheim's destruction—even against Odin's will—now showed mercy?

Loki could not understand.

Mercy? To him, mercy was the most useless and pathetic trait a king could have.

"Stop this! I command you to stop, now!!"

Thor didn't bother to explain. His time on Earth had taught him: every life deserved the chance to live.

Perhaps that was weakness. But true kingship required compassion. Without it, a king was nothing more than a tyrant.

That was why Mjolnir had once again accepted him.

"Hahahaha! Impossible! You can't stop me, Thor! Want to kill me? Then come! Do it!!"

Loki screamed with laughter, but his heart bled.

No one in Asgard ever acknowledged him.

Even the Warriors Three treated him with courtesy only because of his title—but their eyes always carried disdain.

To Odin. To Thor.

He was nothing but a clown.

No matter how clever, no matter how careful, all his efforts were ignored.

And now, with the truth of his Frost Giant blood exposed, his despair deepened.

Odin would never let a Frost Giant inherit Asgard. Never.

His "father's" kindness had been nothing but vigilance. That was why, despite being a prince, Loki had no loyal followers, no trusted companions.

It was pathetic.

And now, even his brother turned against him.

"Thor! I'll go to Earth myself! I'll kill your pathetic woman, and we'll see how soft you are then!!"

This time, even Thor's patience broke.

Rage filled his heart. He had endured Loki's schemes, even his betrayal—but to threaten Jane? That, he could not forgive.

Mjolnir flew with thunderous force.

With a crash, Thor and Loki clashed.

"Sif! Stop the light of destruction, now!!"

The Rainbow Bridge shook as battle erupted.

Meanwhile, Jotunheim's army pressed closer. Heimdall was nowhere to be seen. If war broke out now, with Odin in slumber, Asgard was in peril.

"Who do we even help?"

Volstagg paced anxiously.

"If we fight Loki, we betray the throne. If we don't… we betray Thor…" Hogun muttered, torn.

It was hopeless.

The annihilation beam still blasted Jotunheim without pause.

"Forget the politics! We must stop the beam!" Sif roared.

She charged with her spear toward the end of the Bifrost, where the light erupted.

The others followed.

But—

BAM—

The divine shield repelled them instantly. Sif crashed to the bridge, coughing blood.

The Warriors Three fared no better.

The weaponized Rainbow Bridge was no ordinary relic—it was a supreme artifact, nourished for ages by divine power. Their weapons couldn't compare.

Then—

"Of course!!"

Hope flashed in Sif's eyes.

"SAITAMA!! Please! Help us stop the light of destruction! I beg you!!"

But the bald man in the center of the bridge did not respond.

No—

It wasn't that he hadn't heard.

Saitama was… distracted.

"Ding! Congratulations, Honored Saitama, on arriving in the endless divine realm: Asgard!

Ding! As a being who has broken the limiter, an invincible force across worlds, your existence will bring fear to the multiverse. The name of the Bald Demon King shall resound through all dimensions.
