"Hmm."
"Ding! Evaluation complete."
In Saitama's eyes, this thing already counted as a monster.
And against a monster… he never felt any burden.
"No, Loki! Stop! This is between you and me! Please, spare them. If someone must die, let it be me!"
Thor stepped forward.
He would not allow innocents to die over his struggle for the throne with Loki.
Once the proud prince, now stripped of his power and rejected by Mjolnir, he was a fallen heir with nothing left but to lay down his life for his friends and companions.
The Destroyer paused.
Far away in Asgard, Loki hesitated.
He knew Thor was bound to him by deep bonds, raised together since childhood.
But if Thor lived…
He clenched his eyes shut, and with a breath, ordered the Destroyer to strike.
Whoosh—
The spiked metal fist ripped through the air.
The crushing pressure alone made Thor, powerless without his divine strength, struggle to breathe. Escape was impossible.
CLANG!
A thunderous crash.
No one had expected it.
But the blow never landed.
The massive fist had stopped at Thor's chest—not because the Destroyer faltered, but because the bald man had blocked it with Mjolnir.
"You should step back."
Saitama grinned faintly at Thor.
The humbled god was overwhelmed with gratitude. Without Saitama, he would already be dead.
Bitterly, Thor realized: even his sacred hammer could not save him—only this bizarre bald man could.
"Protect Thor!"
"Be careful, Saitama, that thing is dangerous!"
Sif, the Warriors Three, and Jane rushed forward to shield Thor.
All eyes turned to Saitama and the Destroyer.
Only the bald man could stop this monster.
"Barton, Natasha! Support him—distract it if you can!"
Fury barked.
Natasha and Barton nodded grimly. They couldn't hurt it, but at least they could try.
ROAR—
A pillar of fire roared forth, scorching everything in its path.
The searing torrent struck Saitama.
But with Mjolnir in hand, he blocked it—the flames scattered uselessly, though the heat melted steel around them and turned the research base into a blazing crater.
When the inferno faded, the Destroyer advanced.
CLANG!
Saitama stood firm, hammer in hand. He looked unimpressed.
"Your strength… isn't that great, actually."
Loki's heart sank.
The Destroyer was one of Asgard's strongest constructs—yet this ordinary Earthling blocked it without effort.
"Still mouthing off at death's door?!"
Loki poured more divine energy into the Destroyer. Its furnace roared, cracks glowing molten red as its power spiked.
BOOM—
The ground quaked as the Destroyer charged.
But Saitama simply hurled Mjolnir like a rock.
CLANG!
It slammed through the Destroyer's chest.
"…What power…"
Sif was awestruck. Even Thor could not pierce the Destroyer so casually—it took him a fully charged blow.
But this man… did it like it was nothing.
The Destroyer flickered, its flames dimming. But then, fed by Loki's magic, its body regenerated, its wounds sealing shut.
That was why Odin trusted it with Asgard's treasures—it was relentless, nearly unkillable.
"Hahaha! You fool! You don't know the true power of Mjolnir! Brute force alone cannot—"
Loki's laughter cut off.
His eyes widened, face pale.
Saitama had already tossed the hammer aside.
He didn't like how awkward it felt.
Instead—
He clenched his fist.
A simple punch.
Ordinary Punch!
But this time, it was charged with all the lightning he had absorbed from Mjolnir.
Crackling arcs of thunder danced across his red glove as he struck.
The fist tore through the air—
BOOM!
The indestructible Destroyer, Asgard's ultimate puppet, was obliterated like a firework bursting in the night.
Orange flames and white-blue lightning exploded in every direction, consuming it entirely.
When the light faded, only two enormous metal feet remained on the ground, faintly sparking.
Everything else was gone.
Even the mountain range behind it had been flattened, blackened with molten scars.
The battlefield was silent.
The Destroyer—gone.
