David's happy laughter echoed as he pulled Tessa's hand down the hall to the taxi. Rachel leaned over, smoothing his hair and giving him a kiss on his head.
"Be….."
"Good, Mama. I know," he said before she could finish, smiling playfully.
Rachel laughed softly, but her heartfelt heavy. She looked at Tessa, her eyes showing a silent request. Tessa smiled gently. "Don't worry. He won't know anything about what happens today."
Rachel's throat felt tight as she stepped back, watching them get into the taxi.
She had wanted David and Tessa to remain at her house, while the whole party went on, but when she realized the dress and her whole making up, would not be done in time before the wedding, she proceeded to call her stylist, who would have drawn too much attention to David.
Her son didn't pass the opportunity to spend more time with Tessa who he had grown to now call big sister. From Rachel's eyes, Tessa was the only other person David loved.
