The light from the sun found its way past the curtains, hitting Rachel's eyes. She moved a bit, made a silent hum, and adjusted her position under the sheets.
She felt warm and heavy, and she could smell a light mix of cologne and wine. She opened her eyes quickly and was immediately frozen.
Her skin was brushing the bed covers, that's thrown over her.
Her heart skipped a beat.
She lifted the covers, looked down, and almost couldn't breathe.
She was naked.
Completely naked.
"Oh my God.…" she said quietly, her voice sounding clearly how shocked she was.
She looked around the room quickly, hoping to see her clothes somewhere. But she only saw the wedding dress hanging nicely on the chair. She knew she didn't hang the dress and then remembered Nicholas taking it off for her the previous night.
She buried her face in her palm.
The wedding dress.
It was the only thing she had with her.
Rachel bit her lip.
"I wouldn't want to go outside wearing that dress."
