Nicholas got out of the taxi he had ordered in front of a fancy house on the east side, a house he had become too familiar with in the past.
It was Laura's house.
Although this wasn't her only house, she would always be here. Somewhere close to Nicholas. Somewhere to watch him fall.
He didn't bother knocking softly. He pounded on the door very loudly, loud enough to wake the guard dog, a block away. A few seconds later, Laura opened the door, leaning in the doorway, with the annoying smile he hated.
She almost looked like she was about to complain at the person who hit her door so rudely, but her expression changed when she saw Nicholas.
"Oh, wow. Nicholas Grey actually came to my house. What did I do to deserve this?"
Nicholas looked at her with an angry stare. "Stop pretending. You made sure we couldn't book the wedding places, didn't you?"
